Apologies for the delay in posting this video ….I've been struggling badly with working at home since I've been in Europe recently,So much so that I've almost completely lost interest in making videos.
Apologies. No offence to anyone that drives Mercedes Volvo of xf Daf intended, I just think they are balls of scrap! But that’s only my opinion;)

hello NED ,,ive been on this self isolation shite for nearly 7 days naw and ive 3 more feck days to go,,nice to see your films on this you tube,,this brings back good memories during my Molloy & Sherry days when i was an owner operator doing the Dawn Dist Deliveries when your good buddy seamus kenny was with me and also Dermmt Dunne,Joe Carrick,Dessie Forbes,Micheal Carrick,Richie Barry and many more good men,,it was tough going and stood the pace for 6 years ,harsh going but enjoyed it ,these films are brilliant and the memories keep on floating in and especially on embarking the boat,,good times and made good friends on the way and some have sadly passed away,no such things as tacho breaks,,

@@NedKellyIreland yep i am semi retired at 51 lol 40hr weeks driving concrete mixer trucks, they gave me the Whale today a 400hp Freightliner 5 axle holds upto 8.5 M² Nice n comfy seats but yes you can't beat a Scania now they have the seat fixed lol I did a local run for Vince of Sure Frieght in Newry.

DAF is luxury Ned, driving around Spain and France in a 10 year old Iveco. Bag of nails but it pays the bills. Fed up with long distance work after a crap trip up through France, stopped 3 times by french customs so staying local for a few weeks keep her lit!!

I`ts almost 2022 and i thought $ 45 dollars for 5 gallons of mobil delvac oil here in the states was high, man thought that oil you got was some high priced stuff -best of luck love the vids

Hi Ned i am all new to your channel. I actually discovered it by accident. I am from Montreal Canada and i drive truck part time. The carrier I work for have Volvos... and from this video I know you hate them...LOL. Most drivers really like them because of the huge interior space and the comfortable ride. Truly a beautiful truck to drive.Being from Canada our trucks are way different from European trucks.When you were waiting to board the ferry you commented on every truck that rolled by you and they were either a pile shit and or scrap!! Too funny!!! So what would you say is a good truck or what do you prefer. Btw I love your accent, cant get enough of it!!

@@NedKellyIreland That would be Saint Germain Transport (shitty green trucks) we call it here in Quebec Canada. They would not be the only ones, there is a serious shortage of qualified drivers in Canada and the USA. Its only getting worst every year. Many carriers are actively trying to recruit new drivers from across the pond. You are still young and they are so desperate for drivers here that if you are qualified they will hire you!!

Just wondered what the facilities are like for the truckers on the ferries. I use the Pembroke or Fishguard to Rosslare ferries quite a bit.

Them old Dafs always liked a drop of oil Ned. All the Daf men of old used to carry 2 gallons strapped to the passengers door step.

@@Scaniam oh yeah, and you'd have a water bottle with a hole cut in the side of it stuck behind the heater hoses to use as a funnel.
Seamus Burke absolutely those was the real trucking days unlike today, drivers would stick together you saw a driver on the hard shoulder you would always stop to check, that just don’t happen anymore a new breed of drivers, driving ain’t what it used to be.

My father in law was a diesel mechanic,and always hated working on " those fucking crap cans " as he called Mercedes trucks. He would have to order every single part, bolts nuts individually. There were no rebuild kits available. Real pains in the arse! Todd the retired trucker

Hi Ned. Just subscribed been bingeing on your videos for the past couple weeks while ive been off for christmas, back on the road tomorrow🙌🏼. Love your European work, shame that you cant get back out there at the moment, its something ide like to do myself. Done a couple truck vlogs but nothing really high quality in my opinion. its just something to show my kids on what i do when im away from home
Great video! But, like you, I do not like nebula, as a result of people lighting up, and it going into unauthorised surrounding: like the cab or; worse still physically smoking! You would have to get: Ed China to remove all carpet material and, a total revamp, where ever possible and; even, it might not totally kill it. I got the former into my vehicle and down window and/or fan is constant. Did, I see you heading to Dungannon direction on the 17th April 2019? Looking forward, to the rest of the videos..

I was eagerly awaiting this video. Not to put you under pressure, but it's just a joy to watch your videos, so I'm hoping you will continue with creating them. Thanks so much, Ned! I'm totally with you on the smell of cigarettes, as a non-smoker. Almost nothing more horrible than that, especially when you have to work in that truck for a long time. There's just no way of getting use the the smell, let alone trying to get rid of it. It's in everything, especially fabrics. So I'm feeling your pain.
I was wondering about filling up the oil. Was it consuming that much that you needed to keep topping it?

@Ned Kelly Ireland that screen right-side of the window screen is that a sat-nav? I am waiting for my provisional HGV Licence from DVLA, For our fellow people that dont know what dvla means its short for Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.

But you drive a daf they like to burn it more than any other truck I know, oh the dipstick on them I believe requires the cab tilting what a joke that is, but I’m sure there’s a button next to the handbrake that has something to do with it, these foreigners crack me up, get that god damn v8 back!
