- Join me as i take you on a full tour and test drive of the 2018 DAF XF 530 Super Space Cab. With it's 530hp 6 cylinder 12.9 litre Euro 6 PACCAR MX-13 diesel engine developing 2,600 Nm of torque.
DAF claims a 7% improvement in fuel consumption over the previous model too with better aerodynamic features, and the latest generation 12 speed TraXon automated gearbox.

Last night I had opportunity to drive XF first time in my life. Usualy in my company we use CFs an MANs. So far my favorite truck was MAN XXL but it changed last night. I'm very impressed of this truck. Smooth ride, comfortable driving position and lot of space inside. It is love at first drive😀 you're doing good job mate, carry on 👍🚛🚚💪
When it comes to fuel consuption Daf is the truck. just an opinion , for me DAF XF is the best truck out there. i have drove volvo scania latest model but daf xf is my favorite. comfort , low fuel consumption, torque power, speed, good looking. DAF XF is the truck to have.
I love the spotlights on the top of the cab, you don't need to waste money on a roof bar to attach other lighting.

With all these small improvements to aerodynamics we seem to see year on year, which manufacturer will be the first to give a fully re-designed cab exterior i wonder. Great video stavros as always, in my opinion DAFs were always the most comfortable trucks i ever drove, i love the wooden trim finish on the dash, just gorgeous.
At the age of 12, at a tire shop, I was lucky enough to climb into an "owner operator spec" DAF XF105.510...
My first ever experience in a truck, and it was hella nice.
I've been in a daf xf 2017 for the past 13 months now and I've done 60k and we have had no trouble with it apart from a service every few months and tyre change apart from that nothing broken or falling off and never broken down .loads of space in cab and loads of power when needed .only gripe i have is the bed is a little short but I'm 6.7 apart from that the truck is perfect

At least they done away with the ashtray and put in proper cup holders. I made one for my 2013 xf. Sits beside centre console. Good job.

Stumbled upon your channel last night. It's bloody brilliant!
Ive been out in a MAN TGX 460 recently with the traxion gearbox, they used to have the same as-tronic as the DAF and i have to say it isnt amazing but just abit better in every way. Smoother, easier to manouvre and seems to pick the right gears more often than not, unlike the old gearbox which was hopeless.!!
The new MANs have TipMatic gearbox, that's a Scania box, not the TraXon

We have a fleet of super space 530 dafs on a scrap haulage operation and they take a massive pounding from constantly having scrap smashed in trailers and they are brilliant trucks for the job . My boss won't entertain a Scania or a renualt on the job as they don't last we also have 3 Mercedes that was brought on a wim and there absolutely demolished! One of them has had 2 new engines a gear box a diff and now going in for more major repairs Von asblue system

Love the Daf. Lots of room and storage. The best bed in trucks by far. Cab is a bit soft and wallowing in corners, but that’s what makes it comfortable. The only model to have is twin steer. Positive steering in winter and slippery conditions. My negatives. Ridiculous gear selection, very slow, sometimes wrong gear. Uphill, steep inclines. Takes too long to recognise gradient. Exhaust brake needs massive improvement. That’s it. Apart from that, faultless. My favourite truck.

That vent idea was clever, I think trucks are getting more advanced than the normal passenger cars
Pretty cool tractor. Steering wheel and controls are on the wrong side though. Why do we not see these in the U.S.?? Really like the looks. Would love to see some of these in the U.S.

Hated the old Daf auto gearbox, hopefully the new one don't take an age to decide what gear to change into next.. Great review 👍🏼
@roger murtaugh why not? I drive MB Actros, MAN TGX and Volvo FH at our company, and they work ok, good and very good. And a friend of mine will buy the fifth DAF with that gearbox, so, it can be not the worst.
Its improved but i still prefer a manual gearbox

That steering wheel looks like my KW T680 steering wheel. I wish they offered trucks like this is the USA!
It would b nice to see a review with an manual on these newer trucks for those of us who like the manual labour
A lot of the features you pointed out are some I have equipped on a Kenworth T680. I also learned that DAF is also part of Paccar! Lots of similarities like the red accent lightning you will find on some Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks in North America. At least you did a review in the rain instead of the snow!

Hi Stavros, great vid mate, DAF is a lovely truck in those specs. Don’t get the gross weight on the small and large mid lift option, being the same. Surely the larger wheel is heavier so would reduce payload. We can ponder that for a while, it’s still a truck that has great comfort and is going to leave you feeling great after a long day/drive. Hi Mike the smaller wheels won't be much lighter & you'd have to weigh both different types of tractor unit to determine if there is a difference. What is important is that whether you have the smaller or larger mid lift wheels those two different types can CARRY the same amount of weight regardless of whether or not one is lighter than the other.
guy kendal ok, cheers for that Guy, sorry but still don’t get why a small and large mid lift option is offered. How do you make the choice? Sorry to be thick on this. I have a pretty good knowledge of truck weights and configurations , this thing just jumped out at me. It was, what?🤔🤔

Paccar also has a couple of DAFs at their headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.
pls get us some pictures, btw i think those are for testing for the Australian market. They name will change to KW ofc for the Superspace cab
App Magician I believe they would stay as DAF in the USA as Paccar owns DAF, Peterbilt and Kenworth
They are labelled day in Australia.
They are also building them in Australia now too.
Pascal tried to market was in USA and failed, rebadged them peterbuilt and they sold like crazy

It's because the XF cab is so old, it's been around since 1997.
Very easy truck to go around with. Layout of control easy to work . Feels and looks cheap but does the job.

The triple wiper setup is due to the windscreen not being tall enough to accommodate two longer wiper blades, as per the 33 year old Seddon Atkinson/Pegaso cab that the DAF uses.
True.
And still the best cab ever.
The fact that DAF have kept the same cab for years should stand as testament , the sacrifice of a fully flat floor would not be a deal breaker for me lovely motor , but our demo gave crap mpg and dealer backup was shoddy and expensive to say the least .

Stravos that’s a really nice truck if I could get an Eaton-Fuller 18 speed manual transmission in it I’d like to have it and left hand drive for the states.

I've recently taken over a 2019 xf, is there any way of keeping the 12v socket on when ignition is off? I want to be able to charge my phone overnight... Our old volvo fh had constant power to the 12v.
Ignition key needs to stay in and needs to be at first step all the time if you want to use 12v socket. It's sort of sleep mode.
