Hey bro, just a tip when sniping and using mid range scopes, rebind the zeroing key so it is not on the alt key so it doesnt prompt free look to happen and you can change the zeroing while still fully aimed in.
You'll like the Aug A3 with your preferred playstyle. Its a medium range AR with low recoil and high velocity. Lets you beam at longer ranges than any other AR and the velocity means you have to compensate your aim much less. My prefered loadout is long barrel, vertical grip, quick pull mag and acog which has the recoil sit at a nice tame 1.15 vertical and .8 horizontal. Long barrel brings the damage up to 32.55, which is just barely enough to push you over the 4 bullet threshold. Alternatively you can run tactical for even less recoil, though flash hider kind of kills the Aug's biggest strength which is the stability over long burst of fire. Flash hider makes the gun weaker at the ranges it starts stomping on other ARs since it loses its medium range stable full auto. The guns polarizing, but it sounds like it would fit to your playstyle quite nicely. Also it has some stupid magazine options, and honestly theres a good argument for all of em since the things default reload is good as is.
I’m also a “boomer” (1981) and I appreciate the advice. It might sound weird but I started using ESDF instead of WASD along with an MMO mouse with 12 side buttons for playing BattleBit. I have all kinds of key binds to mitigate the atrophy of my reflexes and find that they really do help.
ESDF is god tier. Been using it for years, always botered me how half of my hand was basically wasted being crammed up on the left side of the keyboard, that extra row is fantastic.

Something a lot of people don't seem to know about this game, especially when it comes to sniping but not exclusively sniper rifles. You can zero weapon distance in this game! hold left alt and scroll your mouse wheel. Happy sniping :)
Concerning the spawn beacon: the game doesn't do a good enough job telling you you're the squad leader. I'll go half a match and not even realize it. Its not that I'm deliberately neglecting my duties to put down beacons and give orders, its that I don't even realize that I have that job. Also, its completely acceptable to use the air drone for its obvious intended use: recon! Fly up super high, then zoom the camera in, then ping enemies. Hopefully they start giving an xp reward for doing this, it really disrupts flankers because they rely on getting behind an unaware line.
Honestly I'm more of a tactics based shooter myself but honestly I just maxed out my in game sensitivity to keep up and honestly it feels so much better now. So if you feel like your aim can't keep up just up your sensitivity. The conventional idea of tuning your moue pad didn't work for me in battlebit.

Definitely an arcade shooter with elements from milsims. Just because milsims have been using good ideas doesn't mean they can't share! You can live and die very quickly and spawn back into the fight, but playing more carefully will *generally* keep you alive longer and rack up more points.
When I play games like battlebit I realise I'm getting old. I'm only 28 and I still get like top 5 or top 10 in my team but I deffo can feel how I react so slow compared to younger people. I used to trick shot in mw2 be really good at quickscopes be the leader of a pretty decent clan and partnered with machinima back then.. But now I can barely hop around without feeling dizzy or flick on someone shooting at me. Feels bad man. I had a kid and play games a lot less than I used to, this isn't just a age thing ofc
Yeah, I just cant compete with the adderall fueled air strafing assault kids. My solution, treat it like a real firefight get some standoff and send precise shots from distance. Oh yeah, there are thermal sights on all primaries I believe it just takes a while.
For any boomers out there who want to use an automatic weapon but has a hard time with recoil, try the PP19. For all intents and purposes it's a better AK74. My loadout is the Red Dot, VAMB muzzle, SSA Grip, and a laser (although I almost always have it turned off). To put those on you will need around 150 kills, but those attachments make it a complete laser beam that will net you a few really surprising +100m kills. Until you get those attachments just use a sight of choice, the basic muzzle, and a stubby grip.
The youth of today forgets us boomers played through the Quake and UT99 era. Absolutely love going full ham on the Twitch generation. I prefer the roleplay aspect of games like this now though, more satisfying than a high k/d.
Tips that you haven't tried yet: Revive your teammates. I'm pretty sure most of people tried that already xd . The rest is awesome and useful though, so thank You.
Does spotting infantry even work in this game? I spot all the time but it's not 100% on as it is if you're spotting a vehicle that pops up on the map, infantry as far as I am aware does not, unless I'm missing something 🤔
If you spot directly on the infantry, the ping will be red. It remains static and doesn't move with them, so it's like a "last known position" indicator. Still very helpful.
I believe your tags only show up to your squadmates. They feel pretty useless when I'm playing solo, but when I have a communicative squad or if I'm playing with friends it seems like the pings are very helpful. Especially if I get downed by a sneaky foe, I can ping his location instead of trying to find the words to describe his hiding place lol.
you can be very good just using tactics, I am the guy who puts on a massive flank with a ton of ammo but I do need to learn how to be a good squad leader I forget I am squad lead and I end up being the only person un my squad
Use C4 to open up buildings. Revive teammates. Customize character. I mean not trying to be rude but these aren't exactly tips most people aren't aware of already lol
People were mad at me for not placing the spawn beacon lol. I just joined a game and happened to be squad leader without even knowing what squads or squad beacons were yet. Like what was I supposed to do 😭
They need to enable an inverted Y axis on the mouse when flying the heli, I just can't get used to the default settings. When I move my mouse forward, I expect to move forward. Instead I end up looking up and moving back. 😂
@@ControlledPairsGaming Ooooh. Didn't realize that for solo play. My mind instantly jumped to battlefield tactics of old with multiple teammates lol. Or even Squad IEDs.

Claymores behind vaultables and thick bushes. Dont plant claymores across walls , it mill make the string pops out so much it will be useless
The youth of today forgets us boomers played through the Quake and UT99 era. Absolutely love going full ham on the Twitch generation. I prefer the roleplay aspect of games like this now though, more satisfying than a high k/d.
4:05 hits like these really remind me of RS2: Vietnam
Bro that boomer debuff is strong. I’m almost forty and it’s rough out there
"not great at game." proceeds to do the craziest shit ever
Easy to cherry pick clips 🤣🤣
pilots flying like that in the intro really underestimate the engineer class mm
Tips that you haven't tried yet: Revive your teammates. I'm pretty sure most of people tried that already xd . The rest is awesome and useful though, so thank You.
I have tried several times and I can never get push to mute to work in discord while playing Battlebit
@@zacharybuckner4384i had no idea, i thought people are dumb not noticing my pings ...
I had no idea there was the customization for apparel and armor 😂 thanks for the tip bro
Feels illegal to be this early.
I've been meaning to get this game, looks fun
Can someone explain the range finder? I dont understand how that works. I thought it was just a digital read out of distance?
spotting feels pretty janky right now, most of the time I'm pinging every EXCEPT the enemies I'm targeting.
The battletips that we are most grateful for
what do you mean "dial your hold over" for range finding?
my tip is kills are good but the objectives win the game. if some one is nagging about your KD tell em to sit and spin
you can be very good just using tactics, I am the guy who puts on a massive flank with a ton of ammo but I do need to learn how to be a good squad leader I forget I am squad lead and I end up being the only person un my squad
also while dragging you can fire your weapon
Pairs!!!! Sever Snake on TAVR. Must play at night. Super intense.
You can use anti vehicle mines to level most houses
Does the game have joystick support for aircraft? I got 2042 to fly and was gutted to see that there was no joystick support
I think they made it so you don't regain lost tickets are reviving team mates, as of latest update.
I haven’t had as much casual fun in a game since Planetside 2 came out.
Use C4 to open up buildings.
Revive teammates.
Customize character.
I mean not trying to be rude but these aren't exactly tips most people aren't aware of already lol
The boomers weren't tracking.
Use the mustache for your character, it gives you a huuuge tactical advantage!
Ah some very nice tips, thanks from a fellow slow boomer. Remember though, Slow is smooth... Smooth is fast
I enjoy sniping but I don’t know how to do the hold breath/steady the rifle; what is that control called or what is bound to by default?
Shift
I'm going to clarify, bind drag to your bandage button. Not the other way around.
"Did we get him?" lmfao I'm dead
use more smokes / nade launcher on medic. good vid
People were mad at me for not placing the spawn beacon lol. I just joined a game and happened to be squad leader without even knowing what squads or squad beacons were yet. Like what was I supposed to do 😭
I've been killed in this game with a sledge hammer... boomer debuff is real.
I can barely see things beyond "50 feet" away on my monitor, and they look so blurry. I'm 56 and my eyes are straining!
Almost no one revives anymore it's frustrating AF, Luke 5 people stand on top of me and I just bleed out.
What's that outro music? I've heard it on some other vids before.
Come Together by Oyy from Epidemic Sound
Anyone have any tips on how to fly the helicopters?
bro lowkey rapping while giving tips!
Who is this man give him a raise....lolol
Not a boomer; but a man with experience
They need to enable an inverted Y axis on the mouse when flying the heli, I just can't get used to the default settings. When I move my mouse forward, I expect to move forward. Instead I end up looking up and moving back. 😂
First thing I did was enable it 🤣
@@ControlledPairsGaming wait, you CAN enable it? How so? I couldn't find it
Why the AP mine on the drone and not C4? AP mine is more powerful?
C4 is command detonated, but you're flying so...
@@ControlledPairsGaming Ooooh. Didn't realize that for solo play. My mind instantly jumped to battlefield tactics of old with multiple teammates lol. Or even Squad IEDs.
Shoulder fired weapon. You sound prior service.
8:14 what's that white sphere?
Objective location on rush
Nightmap => tactical flashlight, so when you ADS you just blast those poor guy nightvision googles to blindness and easy kill :D
Fellow boomer here. Overwatch sniper is my jam.
Night maps with no night vision would be a neet game mode
So you are between the ages of 59 and 77? damn how did you keep that voice so clear.
🔥
okay here me out i think you might like warthunder bc most of the combat is more based around position and knowlage rather than reaction time. this lets you get huge edges on massive flanks it also has CAS to change stuff up. its funny bc i got my like 60 year old dad into the game and he loves it but the grind and progression system is pretty bad and feels pay to progress.Overall good game bad devs/economy
Yepp, its the best battlefield game coming out after 2013😂😆🍾😉
I've tried every single one.
gotta be the coolest boomer I know
I havent played bf since 4 ive missed it dearly. Wasnt interested into the ww1 and 2 if it aint bf1942 on wake island. Battlebit giving me everything i wanted for a long looong time. Needs better audio that is one thing missing compared to bf with the boomy bassy explosions and random players doing callouts like when they get shot at theyre all shit shit shit ammo here and stuff
Being a boomer is great, its all about adapting.
Don't you mean Gen-Xer?
Nah I'm a millennial.
Hang on lad, I'm 100% sure im older than you, and I ain't a boomer. Wtf man?
Is this like, a boomer shooter reference?
Pressing ALT + F4 is a tip most people don't know about. It is a rage quit button for all you noobs lmao haha jk
You don‘t sound like a boomer 🤔
You're born before 1964? You're 60+ years old???
I don't think so.
Quick recap of generations:
1946-1964 Boomer (the name comes from the post-war baby boom)
1965-1980 Gen X
1981-1996 Millennial (Gen Y)
1996-2012 Gen Z
You're probably a millennial or gen x at max.
I'm a millennial. Boomer is zoomer slang for essentially anyone older than them. It would be fair to say that having to explain that would be an indicator to you're likely considered a boomer by zoomers 🤣.
@@ControlledPairsGaming damn kids these days get off my lawn
i dont think 78 year olds will have any good fps strats
