Great video, and great blends! I really liked your initiative on recommending blends. It helps everyone. If the person is a new pipe smoker, it gives them advice on what to try. If the person has already developed their taste, it can help on checking if you have the same taste or even some new blends to try. I'll surely try to have some of these, if not all. :) Cheers and good smokes. Cesar
Awesome video! Orlik is a classic and will be around for a long time. Briar fox is great stuff im almost out of mine! Ive been hesitant to smoke it. Those are the only two I have had out of all the blends you shared. I need to check out that anniversary cake. I enjoy Hearth and homes AJ vaper also.
Have not tried any of them! Best Virginia Perique I have tried so far is "Germains Royal Jersey Virginia Perique". It tastes like what I imagined pipe smoking might taste like before I even smoked a pipe! Awesome!
I just happened to stumble on your channel tonight and it dawned on me I haven't seen any vids in a couple years. I sure hope you are doing well and hope to see you on youtube again soon. Take care.
Ya know Doug, uni flake was my first tin purchased. I absolutely hated it. That was 2009. I had one flake I saved and smoked it a couple months ago. It was totally different because my taste have changed dramatically. Recently I purchased a tin of verrmaster from a brick and mortar in portland or. 18 $!. Had two bowls and just couldnt find any taste. so it is cellared. Briar fox has great reviews. I cant belief no peter stokkebye blends! ya gotta try their cube cut. So...H&H anniversary kake is the cars meow. I will add that to the list. Great vids as always Doug! Absolutely love to hear your top tobaccos lists. take care!
+Teewinot2 Doug...you have not had peter stokkebye luxury bullseye flake or luxury navy flake or luxury twist flake? Oh Doug you are missing out. Cheap in bulk and delicious. Proper english is very goodm And I would grab a couple oz of cube cut. Cube cut is very cocoa-y as a virg/burley. You will not regret and so affordable are these blends. I promise u. Or we could always do some sample trades. I keep at the above except twist flake in the cellar.
I think the only Virginia that I really like is the best brown flake now that you mention it, I forgot about that one. Cuz I'm not big on Virginia's unless they're mixed with maybe three or four other Tobacco. thank you for your opinions have a great night bro
Great recommendations, but I expected your “ultimate” VaPer to be GLP's Haddo's Delight. Also, surprised that you didn't mention a single Rattray blend, Dunhill Flake, or Stonehaven. (I might be mistaken, but I believe that all of the Best Browns are actually VaBurley flakes.)
Clif notes 1. University Flake by Peterson high nicotine content heavier taste 2. Golden Sliced by Orlik lighter citrus taste 3. Hamborger Veermaster by Dan 4. Best Brown Flake by Samuel Gawith medium bodied 5. Best Brown #2 by Gawith Hogarth see video 'Best Brown Showdown' for comparison 6. 5100 Red Cake by McClelland cheap in bulk 7. Opening Night by Cornell and Diehl 'all time favorite' 8. Briar Fox by Cornell and Diehl Virginia Burley blend 'interesting flavor profile' musty in a good way acquired taste 9. Navy Deluxe by Escudo Virginia Perique blend coins 10. Anniversary Kake by PipesandCigars.com Virginia Perique 'Heaven in a Pipe'

Well, that's really disappointing to hear. Guess I'll have to smoke my stash more slowly. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for putting up the video, I enjoy.
2:15 tobacco talk begins. Hope you don’t mind me adding the time mark. No offense
Not at all. I'm sure it easy to do, I just don't know how. Thanks for helping viewers get to my point quicker.
