Love you two! The reason this is popular is the nostalgia for McDonald's that some vegans have, best to make a McRib recreation sandwich with this stuff.
Big facts! I felt that the original riblet was better. The sauce seemed to penetrate into the meat, where as with the new version it's just on the outside.
This must be the year of the comeback, first Just Mayo and now the MorningStar riblets. I used to eat them on Hawaiian bread (it was hard for me to let go), with baked beans, corn, and potatoe salad. I hope they didn't change the flavor and consistency too much. I will look for them in my area.🎉 Found them online at Target on sale for $6.79 in Charlotte, NC.
@MaryDavidson911 Sadly, no, it isn't. That was the only thing that was a struggle to give up. I love bread, but that was years ago, I'm 100% vegan now.
I’ve had the Korean BBQ and the Sweet BBQ. They do taste different; I liked them a lot. Im not too familiar with Korean BBQ, but I did like the flavor of the sauce. I made Riblet Sandwiches. I was able to find them at Giant Eagle. I used to get them often years ago when I first went vegan. For me, I couldn’t tell any difference between this version and the version of the past. It seemed pretty consistent to me.
@@MakeItDairyFree 😮 Wow, I didn't hear about this. Is everything good now or did they not apologize to everyone yet? Their products are still the best vegan steak and ribs I've ever had and the point is to prevent animal suffering. 😩
I haven't seen the Korean barbecue one either. I loved the old BBQ Riblets SO much and my meat eating family even loved them too! I was so mad Morningstar Farms discontinued them, so I contacted them multiple times over the years asking them to bring these back as well as the Philly Cheesesteak patties. I was SO excited to see they brought them back and bought them right away. The BBQ sauce smelled like the old riblets but when I tasted them there was something different. I cooked them in the oven in a Staub dish because the container smelled like it was burning. The texture of the riblets wasn't nearly as good as the old one. It's is mushier, the sauce disappeared while it cooked so I should have saved some to heat up and add to it after it cooked, the color wasn't right and the taste was just off. The old one was WAY BETTER!!! WHYYYYYY can't they bring back the EXACT old one????!! It was PERFECT!! They totally disappointed me and I am very frustrated!! 😠

If you want a really good vegan hotdog, not necessarily the healthiest but then really none of them are, You may want to try the Stadium Franks by Field Roast. Although it’s not One of the cooking options, I found boiling them in water in a pan with a lid for a couple minutes makes them taste just like the hotdogs in NYC carts. Plus removes a huge amount of the oil that you can tell if you leave the pan overnight because it all congeals which means it has been pulled out of the hotdog without taking away any of the juiciness.
Agreed. The original were my fave vegan item of allllll time. I do like the flavor but the texture is not near as satisfying. I think if I never had the original I’d like them but not buy them often because of the price.
