    Love you two! The reason this is popular is the nostalgia for McDonald's that some vegans have, best to make a McRib recreation sandwich with this stuff.

      Big facts! I felt that the original riblet was better. The sauce seemed to penetrate into the meat, where as with the new version it's just on the outside.

    This must be the year of the comeback, first Just Mayo and now the MorningStar riblets. I used to eat them on Hawaiian bread (it was hard for me to let go), with baked beans, corn, and potatoe salad. I hope they didn't change the flavor and consistency too much. I will look for them in my area.🎉
    Found them online at Target on sale for $6.79 in Charlotte, NC.

    I’ve had the Korean BBQ and the Sweet BBQ. They do taste different; I liked them a lot. Im not too familiar with Korean BBQ, but I did like the flavor of the sauce. I made Riblet Sandwiches.
    I was able to find them at Giant Eagle.
    I used to get them often years ago when I first went vegan. For me, I couldn’t tell any difference between this version and the version of the past. It seemed pretty consistent to me.

    I haven't seen the Korean barbecue one either. I loved the old BBQ Riblets SO much and my meat eating family even loved them too! I was so mad Morningstar Farms discontinued them, so I contacted them multiple times over the years asking them to bring these back as well as the Philly Cheesesteak patties. I was SO excited to see they brought them back and bought them right away. The BBQ sauce smelled like the old riblets but when I tasted them there was something different. I cooked them in the oven in a Staub dish because the container smelled like it was burning. The texture of the riblets wasn't nearly as good as the old one. It's is mushier, the sauce disappeared while it cooked so I should have saved some to heat up and add to it after it cooked, the color wasn't right and the taste was just off. The old one was WAY BETTER!!! WHYYYYYY can't they bring back the EXACT old one????!! It was PERFECT!! They totally disappointed me and I am very frustrated!! 😠

      I just can't figure out why companies can't just leave things alone. They spend a ton of money and time coming up with new things that often suck. No idea who is taste testing them. It must just come down to cheaper ingredients and processing😐

    • @princess3193
      @princess3193 2 місяці тому +1

      @@Glim246 Right?! They make an amazing product and then have to change it and it's for the worse! Sooooo many companies have done this over the years and it has made me stop buying their new products and I really miss the old one and get upset.
      The only company that ever listened to me and other customers is Beyond when they changed their Hot Italian sausages. They had this amazing tasting orange oil inside them and changed the flavor to some brown colored oil that tasted awful. After a few days of me and my bf begging them and also them getting many complaints from others online, they went back to the old recipe. I was so happy! This is the only company who has ever cared what their customers thought. All companies need to do the same! Then later Beyond changed them to a meatier texture but they still tasted the same. Now they have them with avocado oil but I haven't tried them yet. I really hope they taste the same because the Hot Italian is my absolute favorite sausage ever!! My family's favorite too

      @@princess3193 Glad someone listened and you got a favorite back. It's so frustrating when you finally find something that you like and it disappears. I bought this as soon as I saw it at kroger, having a feeling they were gonna sell out quick, and I was right the next day they were all sold out. They were expensive at almost 7 bucks, but it's the closest you can get to a mcrib if you are plant based.
    Imo the original riblet was better, the texture was more meaty, and the sauce seemed to penetrate into the meat, where as the new version is more dense so the sauce was really only on the outside. It was over all still good, and I would buy it again. 4 outta 5 for me.

    I just tried these! 😅
    The old ones had a much better consistency. These ones are too soft and too thick so not enough sauce gets on them. The old ones would caramelize in the oven and were as thin as mc ribs.

      If you want a really good vegan hotdog, not necessarily the healthiest but then really none of them are, You may want to try the Stadium Franks by Field Roast. Although it’s not One of the cooking options, I found boiling them in water in a pan with a lid for a couple minutes makes them taste just like the hotdogs in NYC carts.
      Plus removes a huge amount of the oil that you can tell if you leave the pan overnight because it all congeals which means it has been pulled out of the hotdog without taking away any of the juiciness.

    Why do Vegans and vegetarians want to emulate a meat product? I just do not understand this!

    • @MakeItDairyFree
      @MakeItDairyFree  21 день тому

      Short answer: Most vegans enjoyed the taste/texture of meat, but went vegan to save animals. So it doesn't mean that they don't enjoy it.
      Beyond/with that - these products often mimic the taste and texture of meat, allowing vegans to enjoy familiar flavors without consuming animal products. They can also help individuals participate in cultural and social meals, maintaining connections while adhering to their dietary choices. Additionally, some meat alternatives provide essential nutrients and protein that vegans might seek in their diets. For those transitioning to a vegan lifestyle, these products can serve as a helpful bridge, easing the shift away from animal products. Ultimately, many vegans enjoy these alternatives as a way to align their eating habits with their values regarding environmental sustainability and animal welfare, all while still enjoying satisfying meals.
