Man walking through the poison oak at about the 12 minute mark gave me the heebie-jeebies. None the less this is inspiring me to hit the streams again. Been entirely too long
Dude cool video! Got into BFS in June this year and been obsessed! Also in California. Been catching a lot of bass here in OC and LA. Older people always get tripped out when they ask me about my gear and I tell them I’m catching largemouth bass on trout lures 😂 keep it up, tight lines brotha.
Some tips. I get you don’t trout fish much. So I’m not gonna be the guy to rip on you. I made these mistakes too starting out. Don’t work the bait as hard or set the hook as hard. Little baits don’t need that much rod input and light pressure is enough to set the hook with trout. Get a rubberized trout net. Handle them in the water in the net. No lipping no gilling. Handle them with wet hands. They have a protective slime coating that protects them from bacteria and disease. You wipe that right off with dry hands and increase the chances of that fish dying. Other than that, do more of this type of content. There’s not enough of it.
welcome to to bfs world hope to see you use it more in your vidz. make small fish seems bigger lol try some zmans micro lures with it. i love using the micro chatter bait with shad fryz, also flashback minis.
7' ft rod it's bit too long for my taste for BFS trout fishing, my setup i usually is a 54UL rod pair with a Shimano 23 Calcutta Conquest BFS HG reel, i like short for tight corner or narrow area require to make precise cast to your targeting area
Great video man love to see others using bfs and Japanese lures. Not a whole lot of people on UA-cam using this stuff and I love to watch others using the same stuff I do because you will always pull a tip away. If you get to any calmer water than that you should definitely try to Megabass karashi. They are like a sub-surface top water. Best way I can describe it. But they work great for browns where I am they love eating off the top.
Ultra lite 2lb test is the funnest thing in the world lakes rivers etc.. caught a 8.13 up in the north fork that beast took me for a ride, and by the way your videos are torture cause you fishing locally accessible spots and I’m not out there enjoying it! 😢 can’t wait to be off injury and satisfy my need for the tug 🎣😂
Amazing vid bro,I’m in the Central Valley and been fishing bass in California my whole life until recently in December I went to the upper fork kings on a similar friends trip like you and I’ve been on a trout kick since i use a 7’0ft TFO UL with a size 1000 shimano nasci most def will be trying to get ahold of one of those BFS rods soon tho❗️(just subscribed)
Where is this if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve went to a lot of spots (exploring and sight seeing) up to Dardanelle and Kennedy ; I mainly fish pinecrest and mainly the rivers nearby but I haven’t seen any big body of river with sorta calm waters like you showed here. Thanks in advance
Awesome content! I’ve been wanting to pick up a BFS setup for trout and panfish. What tackle box was that? I always break the lids in mine when I open them. That spring loaded release button is nice.
Great video man! I fish bfs on the Tuolumne and and Merced river. How far up the Stanislaus did you go? I only been up to Goodwin Dam no further than that. and just some pointers trout are a lot more delicate than bass and shouldn’t be held by their mouth. Tight lines don’t forget to pinch those barbs
@@TheFreyExperience Yeah their jaws are really delicate most guys wet their hands and cup them underneath the stomach that usually keeps the fish still, it's all good love the BFS content that's the only way I fish in streams anymore my spinning reels are getting dusty!
@@philliplawson2932 thank you brotha. Just got done filming another bfs stream video should be out in a couple of weeks 🤟🏼 good luck out there and be safe. Tight lines
Beginning of video you said your not familiar, then you proceeded to give instructions on how to bfs fish for trout . Hahahaha… if you’re not changing lures 10 times for those big holes 🕳️ you don’t have a clue about trout . Especially BFS !
Surprised no one commented about wetting your hands before touching the trizt...lol😅
Bro I'm tossing mini jigs an ballhead jigeads with 1 inch power worms. I got the darkwolf ultra. New one. Extra light
Hey man just saw this video. Cool content. Those tail waters are something special.

Sweet vid, that was a nice brown at the end, keep on grinding my man👊🎣👍
Grind it till I find it

I’m thinkin about taking it to the lakes to make a couple fun videos for bass

That tackle box? Not seeing the link, thanks
There not a sponsor so they don’t get a link 😆
👍👍👍
Thank you
What Fork?
Good video but stop lipping the trout like a bass!
I’m a bass fisherman and I don’t feel like putting my fingers in its gill area just in case it flops and my fingers dog deep and rip it’s hill out.

Trout are much more delicate than bass. Don’t need to set hook as hard.
