  • Don't Worry Darling showed a lot of promise in the first 2 acts but the 3rd not only drops the ball but renders the entire film kinda useless. Here are my spoiler thoughts on Don't Worry Darling. A film with wasted potential!

I haven’t seen this movie but I know enough about it that I feel like I have. One thing I don’t understand is what exactly are all of the things going wrong in the simulation? Like the window, the egg? If it’s the simulation breaking down or something, why is no one else experiencing these things? If it’s Alice’s own mind coming to grips with reality, why is it happening like that when she could just have memories or her own life or something? It genuinely makes no sense to me why those things would happen.

Here's my main problem wit the twist how did harry style convince Florence purgh to get into the virtual reality and how is he able to keep her healthy and her kidnapping hidden. You think someone in her life would notice she hasn't gone to work in days. In the real world you get a text or call from your boss if you haven't shown up for work. Why did Gemma chan kill chris pratt.Pratt. what is up with the plane. Why does a virtual reality includes going to work I'm a man and my vr would never include going to work.

She was doing surgeries so she’s definitely a doctor which is another reason the movie makes no sense, I don’t know any doctors who are living in run down homes, most dr. Partners can afford to stay home, even in the 50s a dr salary would be enough to support the home. The other thing is him not working when their both in the real world, but now he has a job amcsn afford to pay for rent, bills, and the simulation, so why couldn’t he do this before, this is the whole reason Alice is tired and has no time for him, the reason she’s tired and just wants to sleep, doesn’t feel like cooking, etc, this here is the main reason the whole movie falls apart for me, it would’ve been better had you found out these men kidnapped these woman they were obsessed with.

Even if her movie was a proper reflection of incel culture (and it's not), incels still don't make compelling villains. The only way to make a good incel villain, would be in a lone stalker thriller movie.
Incels are not villainous masterminds. They aren't frightening as a group.
Just like the Flag Smashers were dumb in Falcon & Winter Soldier, because they were modelled after Antifa... modelling villains after stupid radical online communities is just generally a bad idea.

@@AdamDoesMovies hey! Good to read you. Coming from a thick girl, I can assure you I did not get offended by the skinny comment, however, stating that she "decided to stop eating" is quite an assumption. As mentioned earlier, she could have health issues that prevent her from putting on weight. The thing is, we never know whats going on in people's life, that's why practising compassion can help.
Also, the fact that you poke fun at yourself for the way you look doesnt give you carte blanche to make fun of other's appearance. I hope we both can find that reasonable and fair.
As you say, maybe people are more touchy nowadays, or maybe we have always been but now we have more means to express and share those feelings. On the other hand, one could say that people are also becoming more rude and judgemental towards others, hence the increase of "touchy people" these days... but what was 1st: the egg or the chicken? 🤷🏻‍♀️

To be fair, you compared me to Brad Pitt after giving me a hard time about comparing Olivia Wilde to Pugh. Wilde, like a good amount of Hollywood women start to get really skinny as they get older. It's a shame. The camera really does add 10 pounds though (believe me) and I'm sure there is immense pressures to keep up with the younger females. Men go through this in Hollywood too but obviously the past has been far harsher on women in the industry. I absolutely have compassion for that.
That said, this is an industry where you do get judged based on your acting/looks and if you are presented in a way that takes a viewer out of the picture, well, I'm going to say something. She was distracting in this because she looked unhealthy. I made light of it, like I do everything else. People talk about these things when they watch movies. To pretend otherwise is simple disingenuous.

You posted that comment on my channel. Rhetorical or not, it was meant to be seen, right?
Yes, I talk to others. I have a Discord channel and I have speak with buddies after seeing the film.
I like talking/reviewing movies and was encouraged by friends/family to do so. It's a fun hobby, generates some revenue and keeps my wife from having to work miserable jobs. Happiness is the key. Occasionally I'll waste my time responding to haters online but for the most part, it's a healthy passion of mine that some people enjoy. I don't claim to be an expert in the subject. Just a regular guy talking about movies like I would with my friends.
Long answer short, ignorance I guess.

@@AdamDoesMovies fair enough. I would just assume someone would've told you the "job" the men go to is them leaving the matrix to work in real life. They straight up say it in the movie. Besides your gripes from ignorance, I agree with most of the review.

@@mindlander It's hard to conceive of such a thing without them showing us. It's a big plot point to just throw out in a few sentences. I haven't re-watched my review but I swore I mentioned them being the programmers. I talked with some buddies after the film and we assumed that was what was happening. Regardless, it would have been nice to get at least a peak at the operation. Are these women all being brought and held in 1 facility? How is this being funded? Are the guys getting food/water/supplies sent to their locations to keep their wives alive in their little prisons? Again, this is such a huge plot point to have such little attention brought to it.

You lost me with the negative talk about Wilde's skinny body. Florence Pugh is pudgy not the definition of healthy & vibrant.
