There are exceptions if that person is a teacher, manager, or has some type of power over you. Just sharing bc as a hypersexual teenager knowing that the age of consent was 16 (and even before that that it would have been legal to be with a 19 year old when I was 14) was soooooo bad for me. I'm a trans guy, but I didn't come out until I was ~20. I was 13 the first time a guy tried to get me to send him nudes over the internet. He was definitely way older, and I didn't know how to keep myself safe online since I grew up really rural until I was 11 and didn't have easy access to stuff like that. I was smart enough not to send anything and cut context pretty quick, but it wasn't for lack of trying.
I cannot tell you how many similar situations I had when I was younger. Now, it's more in person if anything for me. People don't understand others boundaries and have gotten so.. idk, demanding almost? With how they don't take no for an answer and think pestering will get them whatever they want. I had a run in back in highschool in the hallway. The guy (I had never seen him anywhere before) kept trying to talk to me. I told him I had to get to class. From that point on in the cafeteria EVERY single morning he would find me, no matter the location. He'd interrupt me talking to my friends, he'd follow me. It got so bad I had to start eating breakfast in my 1st period class. There were others who invited themselves into my friend group, when none of my friends wanted them there and were even uncomfortable. I would tell them I was uninterested in them and they'd still follow me and insert themselves into my life, despite saying they understand and me making it very clear I don't want them around me. Just so many things like that. It's ridiculous.

I don’t think you’re reading into it, but I feel like folks paid attention to D’angelo’s video because of his reputation more so than just because he is a man. The only really big account talking about the situation at length was the H3 podcast and it barely picked up any steam. If people were just waiting for a man to talk about, they didn’t need to wait for d’angelo’s video. I think that given D’Angelo’s past videos on UA-camrs (Shane Dawson, Jeffrey Starr, etc.) people took the allegations more seriously because they trust him. Also I can’t discount how much him finding a clip of a third party witness making a statement about it, played into people actually being willing to hear folks.

Cody won’t speak because he knows he can’t defend himself unless he takes the crazy approach to say Tana is a liar and Gabbie was in cahoots with Tana to hurt him. I definitely think the whole thing with Gabbie’s part in this just shows how people online have way too much of an all or nothing mindset. Like two things can be true at once Gabbie did a good thing trying to discourage Cody but she was also wrong to tell a story that wasn’t hers i hope she’s since reached out to Tana to apologize for that action. Gabbie is someone who has done good things but also has done pretty bad things as well for me she like most people is complicated and the pressure of the influencer scene brought out a bad side to her like it’s probably done with Tana. I think people are way too extreme with either praising Gabbie or hating Gabbie and that goes for a lot of influencers as well we ultimately don’t know these people and only see a fraction of them. Another interesting thing i think people didn’t notice is how different Gabbie was compared to when the situation first down to when she was sharing that story around It seems she was sharing that story in 2021 which was the year Gabbie really went off the rails and did a lot of crazy things. Well what’s the different between a 17 year old and a 16 year old. Age of consent is arbitrary in that we have to draw the line somewhere, but if she were just 18 it would still be gross and wrong. The law does not legislate morality, a 25 year old man should not be sleeping with a teenager at all.

There are exceptions if that person is a teacher, manager, or has some type of power over you. Just sharing bc as a hypersexual teenager knowing that the age of consent was 16 (and even before that that it would have been legal to be with a 19 year old when I was 14) was soooooo bad for me. Truly one of the worst and most damaging set of laws in this country.

I'm a trans guy, but I didn't come out until I was ~20. I was 13 the first time a guy tried to get me to send him nudes over the internet. He was definitely way older, and I didn't know how to keep myself safe online since I grew up really rural until I was 11 and didn't have easy access to stuff like that. I was smart enough not to send anything and cut context pretty quick, but it wasn't for lack of trying.
I cannot tell you how many similar situations I had when I was younger. Now, it's more in person if anything for me. People don't understand others boundaries and have gotten so.. idk, demanding almost? With how they don't take no for an answer and think pestering will get them whatever they want. I had a run in back in highschool in the hallway. The guy (I had never seen him anywhere before) kept trying to talk to me. I told him I had to get to class. From that point on in the cafeteria EVERY single morning he would find me, no matter the location. He'd interrupt me talking to my friends, he'd follow me. It got so bad I had to start eating breakfast in my 1st period class. There were others who invited themselves into my friend group, when none of my friends wanted them there and were even uncomfortable. I would tell them I was uninterested in them and they'd still follow me and insert themselves into my life, despite saying they understand and me making it very clear I don't want them around me. Just so many things like that. It's ridiculous.

I don’t think you’re reading into it, but I feel like folks paid attention to D’angelo’s video because of his reputation more so than just because he is a man. The only really big account talking about the situation at length was the H3 podcast and it barely picked up any steam. If people were just waiting for a man to talk about, they didn’t need to wait for d’angelo’s video. I think that given D’Angelo’s past videos on UA-camrs (Shane Dawson, Jeffrey Starr, etc.) people took the allegations more seriously because they trust him. Also I can’t discount how much him finding a clip of a third party witness making a statement about it, played into people actually being willing to hear folks.

Cody won’t speak because he knows he can’t defend himself unless he takes the crazy approach to say Tana is a liar and Gabbie was in cahoots with Tana to hurt him. I definitely think the whole thing with Gabbie’s part in this just shows how people online have way too much of an all or nothing mindset. Like two things can be true at once Gabbie did a good thing trying to discourage Cody but she was also wrong to tell a story that wasn’t hers i hope she’s since reached out to Tana to apologize for that action. Gabbie is someone who has done good things but also has done pretty bad things as well for me she like most people is complicated and the pressure of the influencer scene brought out a bad side to her like it’s probably done with Tana. I think people are way too extreme with either praising Gabbie or hating Gabbie and that goes for a lot of influencers as well we ultimately don’t know these people and only see a fraction of them. Another interesting thing i think people didn’t notice is how different Gabbie was compared to when the situation first down to when she was sharing that story around It seems she was sharing that story in 2021 which was the year Gabbie really went off the rails and did a lot of crazy things. While the Cody situation went down it was 2015/2016 back when Gabbie was still pretty “normal” and hadn’t started spiraling. But yeah I do think we can recognize Gabbie did a good thing but also was wrong for sharing a story that wasn’t hers I always say two or more things can be true at once.
