- Gym intimidation is real, and it can be very difficult for many of us to overcome. It’s something I struggled with, too, when I first got started, and I know how incredibly overwhelming it can be.
But I also know that it’s something you can get past, with the right guidance, and nowadays the gym is a part of who I am, and I am so much better for pushing past my fears.
So, in this video, I want to share with you 10 tips for how I got over feeling intimidated by the gym, and how you can, too.

Everything you said makes logical sense and I’ve done most of what you say but I still can’t get passed my anxiety. I joined the gym just about a year ago and I just don’t feel like I belong and I’m not getting anywhere and so I’m seriously thinking of quitting. I haven’t been for a month or so now.
BtW. Great advice! Agree 100% I have experienced or witnessed all that you have said. I am 59 and "Fluffy" read that to mean obese. When in the gym it's about you not the other person on the machine next to you. Pay attention to your mind/muscel connection and to proper form on each rep/set/exercise.

Any advice on breathing rhythm when doing squats and deadlifts? When to inhale and when to exhale. When I squat I feel uncomfortable inhaling as I'm going down, but as I understand it with muscle training you're always supposed to exhale during the exertion part.
