Another great episode. I too have remarked, to any one of my friends who will listen to me go on about Bonanza, that PR might have been miserable playing Adam, but he created a great character…one who is still beloved over fifty years later.
Thank you so much. I love that you keep Bonanza alive and discuss the special moments. I was very disappointed with the episode Marie My Love. I think it should have showed the birth of Little Joe and the relationship she would have had to Adam and Hoss as young boys.
Hi Barbo, Thanks for another informative & entertaining episode! Just wanted to point out that the episode you showed today w/Adam ill in bed is from "Elizabeth, My Love". Ben is remembering his 1st wife Elizabeth (Adam's mother) when Adam awakens & tells his father that he had dreamt of dark storms & sailing ships, much as Ben had told him tales of when he was a young boy. In "Marie, My Love" (which you mentioned) Ben is again keeping vigil, only this time by Joe's bed side. Joe had been thrown from Cochise, much in the same manner that his mother, Marie had, & she perished. Just wanted to mention that point for folks who like to keep track of this stuff, like me. By the way, your pups are adorable (I have cats). Thanks!
Before antibiotics, lots of people were sick for a long time until the condition came to a crisis when it was said the patient would begin to recover or to die. Think of the trajectory of the sickness of Beth in "Little Women". She recovered initially but was left weak. Long COVID is nothing new. In the 1800's it was known some would be invalids following recovery from terrible diseases. (In the 1900's, if antibiotics did not cure a patient, if the illness was viral and the patient did not fully recover, doctors discarded these suffering people in the human garbage dump of psychiatry. Had doctors and researchers paid attention over the past decades, perhaps enough would have been learned, that COVID would not have been so devastating.) A big killer back in Bonanza times was diphtheria. I have lived a long time in the Idaho/Oregon border area. In pioneer cemeteries it is still possible to see markers for multiple family members, frequently children, who all perished within a couple weeks when diphtheria was raging.

Great info as usual! Thank you. 💞
Lorne Greene was on HTH, but I was always hoping Pernell would be in an episode.

Yes. I put a correction in the description. I often misspeak when I’m rambling on.
@@barbo6078 So sorry, I didn't read the description!
Talking about re-using Adam's hat, the actress who played Elizabeth they also re-used, as a love interest for Hoss!
E a chata da Laura, foi na.orada de Hoss
A word about Victor French- he was Agent 44 in Get Smart the first season! People often forget that! Marvelous actor.
Thanks a lot for your very entertaining videos.
Staying tuned, and looking forward to the next one.
Love your videos. When you were showing how the cast aged, you didn’t mention that Michael Landon was gray headed toward the end.
Love your t-shirt Barbo.
Where can I get one?
That is from the 50th Anniversary Convention. Not available any more. I have an extra one size XL if you are interested.
