That woman that he was joking with, her name is Gail Ann Dorsey. She was Bowie's bassist for a long time. She also would sing "Under Pressure" with him live. She took the Freddy Mercury parts.
@@shockwavereact It was...picture the scene, a late June summer evening in Somerset, England, you're standing in a crowd of about 50,000 people (I could hardly make out where it ended, its the biggest crowd of humans I've ever been in) and there's a legend on stage pumping out his hits with absolute perfection. It's the greatest gig of my life, nothing else tops it. Really, really glad I splurged on the festival ticket just since he was on the bill. RIP David, you're the greatest.
At the beginning of this song - not of this concert - he said seomething like: We'll play this song, take a short break and then play the album A, the album B and the album C ... he didn't meant single songs from these albums, he meant the whole albums! Concerts of Bowie were extremly exhausting ... when he was in a good mood, he performed 4 or 5 hours! Anyway: Thanks for reacting! :)
Bowie lived in Berlin for years, and his studio overlooked the wall dividing the east and west parts of the city. The East German VOPOs ( peoples' police) would machine gun anyone trying to get over the wall to the west. Any questions about who the heroes were, and who Bowie was confident they could beat?
Bowie was always an entertainer. Whether that being songwriting, singing, miming, and acting. He was a true genuine multitalented artist of a generation, never shying away from experimenting with fresh ideas to inspire generations to come. Will never be forgotten.
Heroes has been one of my favorite David Bowie songs since it came out in the late 1970's. This was the first time watching this performance of it, and I enjoyed it a lot. David Bowie was not only a trend setting great musician, but has also had a leading role in several movies that I saw. He passed away in 2016. I think it would be interesting for you to check out Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars not necessarily to,hear David Bowie's early music, but to see how he appeared on stage in his younger days. Quite a contrast from this concert.

I believe this was in Berlin in 2002, still amazing at 55 years old. Sadly he died in 2016. I saw him live in 1987 in the old Wembley Stadium on his Glass Spider Tour, just a fantastic concert. Please react to some more Bowie from anywhere in his long career
Omg Nigeria?!😮 WHAT musical history AND now too ❤❤❤ What a live performance by Bowie right? 😅 A bit on how he came to this song. He saw two lovers leaning against the Berlin Wall and marvelled how love and life find a way even in adversity “The guns shot above our heads. The shame is there on the other side. We kissed as though nothing could fall. We can beat them. We can be heroes.” ❤ Great choice by the way this live performance. Next find his live performance of Ashes to Ashes it’s equally brilliant and unbelievably FUNKY 😊
You may of heard of the Berlin Wall separated East and West Germany. When it came down Bowie played a concert in West Germany and this song was played very loudly so it could be heard in the communist East. It’s an anthem to unity and its outstanding
Yeh and when you make a top level comedy film with big names, but you want to go to the ultimate level of absolute zero "cool" you asked David Bowie to do a cameo. See Zoolander 😂😂😂
That is one of those rare transcendent moments between Bowie, his band and his audience. Wish I could have been there.
It’s so beautiful

Bowie is the only reason I went to Glastonbury 2000....to watch his legend do his stuff live, utterly brilliant, I'll never forget that night!.
He is so fun watching I can only imagine watching him live

Yes, him and Iggy Pop were good friends and lived in Germany
One of the kissing heroes was Tony Visconty, his producer and bass player
Bowie is one of the greatest musicians ever. Every album is unique. Listen to his back catalogue. RIP David.
