Your car looks a lot like mine. People love it. Bought a sweet scan tool from Ancel. Got the BM700 $20 off on Amazon for a little over $100 delivered with Prime. Cleared my passive codes. Trying to clean MAF sensor now. Trying to figure out how to get to the bottom T20 screw. Plastic hose cover is blocking my progress. Tomorrow is another day....

@@JohnsonMotorsports have you thought of an f10 535ix under shield, it comes steel from factor, not sure if the screws same location on the normal none x drive….. if you can’t fine it, I can link the part number.
The android unit looks cool indeed but the only thing I don’t like about it as you said it’s used the aux input and that’s I don’t like.
No, never thought about the 535xi shield, but I’m good now. Yeah, the aux is the downside to the Android unit. I typically still use the oem Bluetooth for streaming music and phone calls. Only time I use the Aux is if I want to watch Netflix or UA-cam off the unit.

Actually, I am using a custom mount that I built out of scrap metal. The charging portion was from a cheap brand I found at a local discount store.

Question Grant, you said you had to slightly modify the accelerator pedal to fit? Like, trim where it slides over the big “hump” on the side next to brake pedal? I want these but see they are specific to the styles of pedals
Man, it’s been quite some time since I did the install. Yes, I remember modifying the covers but can’t remember exactly how what was done. I would say to just make sure to order the correct covers.

Where did you purchase your CarPlay screen from ? I have a 2013 and want to do this to mine
I purchased this screen through RVG Performance.
2 questions… 1: the color matching for your msport front bumper … did a local shop do that ? Or did you bring it to a bmw dealer. Paint looks identical. 2: would the android screen work with a iPhone ?
Actually, I picked used my VIN to pick up a aerosol can of color match paint at Orielly's and I sprayed it myself in my garage with a 2k clear. Paint ran less than $85.
Yes, my Android has wireless Carplay with a program called Zlink that's built into the unit.

Yeah, my car is a 2011. I had the basic 10” screen that came with the Professional Navigation.(I think that’s what it’s called)
No, no coding was necessary. I love the display, everything looks awesome. Lately I’ve used the display for my MHD gauges. Audio quality could be better, I still stream my music through the OEM Bluetooth. I had previously done a Combox retrofit.

I haven't been paying too much attention to my BMW as all my energy has been into the Porsche but I need to redirect some of that energy back into the BMW. I just sub'd to your channel. @@BimmerHausPerformance Yeah, I'm running both. I've ran the Jb4 for a long time and I purchased the MHD flasher only. Burger Tuning provides free Backend Flash maps. I am running the Backend flash race map and the JB4 has additional features and safety parameters that allows me to boost over the pre-set boost target as long as all parameters remain in the safe range.

My car is a 2011 and yes, this is a touch screen Android Headunit.

This is a video on the mount I built. It was a cheap $10 mount. I’m on the 3rd version now, upgrade to the IPhone 13 Pro, so I’m using the mag charging.

Currently I am still using the oem Bluetooth for music streaming. You should check the Android Headunit discord channel. They have a DAC mod walkthrough that is supposed to give you 1000x better audio quality.

Not that I am aware of, although you can do CarPlay with most of these Android units.
Well i just came across to one of the dumbest things ever. Taking the reflectors of your radiator or condenser is the worst idea, it shields from rocks and other damage. Easiest crash on radiator puts a hole in it.
These plastic pieces aren’t protecting anything. They aren’t angled in a way that would avoid anything from flowing through to hit any components.
