just got my 87 prelude at 15 years old! i’m binging your channel i love your videos man
Ayyy thats awesome man! Keep commenting and let me know what you enjoy!
Sick bro i jus got my 1988 prelude si at 16 worked my ass off fo👍🏻💯
Looking good!!
Thanks dude! I took your idea and installed the c pillar support bar! Super happy with it!
@@ConnorLee Awesome!! People always ask me about the brace. It's a conversation starter!
Hey man, I'm new to the channel and really enjoying the content. Did you ever get your fuel gauge working? If so do you have a video showing the fix? I have an 87 with the same issue. Thanks!
Man for the life of me I cannot remember what fixed it or if it randomly just started working again. I’m really thinking on it and I can’t remember. If I do, I’ll update this comment for you.
Nice .. you make me want one 😊
Very nice. Thats great peace of mind. Try stealing my car now! Ha ha!
Brian Tadic couldn’t they just use a basic tool to substitute a steering wheel?
just had my lude stolen with this exact setup and the wheel off from the shop I had it worked on at sooooo
@@donmcdonnell1125 that sucks😢. Theft is a big problem with old collectible cars. And when a professional thief wants it...nothing you can do to prevent it other than keeping it locked up in your garage. In NYC they are stealing parts off 2005 and older Honda's like crazy. An old lude probably wouldn't last 10 mins parked on the street here.
I have 1990 my speed odometer not working I needed your help .. any video ? Thx man
Try to replace speedo cable. Early 90 accord ones should work.
Thank you 🙏
How did you install that ribbon there for the horn contact? My 89 has a wired connector to the clockspring instead
Do you also have steering wheel controls? i.e. cruise control? My wheel is bare bones so maybe the splines are different
@@ConnorLee I did have steering wheel controls that were wired via the clockspring, taking it off it looks identical to yours except that contact ribbons missing
@@aeiou3770 hmmmm I am perplexed as well then
is the 3rd gen prelude a 29 spline just like the 3rd gen accord or is it different? I've got an '88 L-Xi Coupe and I can't seem to find much info out there about aftermarket hubs
Speedo not working could be faulty speed sensor.
When I do the manual swap I have to remove the speedo cable and sensor so I can hopefully inspect/replace them
Hey man is this 4ws or 2ws?
2ws!
what size steering wheel can i use. and what is the part number of the steering wheel itself?
Do you kno if I can get a hub and quick release for a 86 Honda prelude ?? Need help
Yes, if you get a chance, hit up @daviedloz on Instagram. He just put an NRG into his 86' Lude. I just dont know the part number myself for a 2nd gen
So my 89 prelude has cruise control and it looks different under the wheel after I got the nut off, there are extra connector prongs that are gonna get crushed when I screw the hub on :[
I think I'm gonna lose the horn too I might just rewire a seperate horn button next to the wheel or something
@@dedrat_ You can pull your cruise controls off the wheel i believe and hook up somewhere near the dash so they are still usable, let us know how it goes for you
How did you get the horn to work
Why is your speedometer not working? Mine’s not working either and I have no idea why is that. Maybe you have any idea why it’s not working? 🤷🏻♂️
johnny L if you have a 88-89 Prelude you have a manual speed sensor that looks like a cable, over time the cable stretches or the magnetism of the device becomes faulty and the speedometer sometimes won’t work. If you have a 90-91 Prelude than it’s a electronic speed sensor but the faults are pretty much the same. Hope that helps!
@@ConnorLee I know is this is a 2 year old comment but do you have any more info on this issue, mine cuts out randomly (89)
@@dedrat_ Hey man, since you have an 89' yours uses a mechanical speedo cable, not electric like the 90/90's use. You could try removing it and cleaning it. Otherwise your best bet is finding a used one that is in better shape than yours. Since yours comes and goes, Id start by cleaning and inspecting it. Keep us posted
@@ConnorLee thanks for replying so quick! Where exactly would this cable be, I don't even know where to look. I appreciate the help so much your channel is part of why I got a prelude :)
Anyone know if this is compatible wirh the 1990 Prelude 2.0 si?
Ur car 🔥 more vidssssss
Dropping a new one tomorrow!
What gen prelude is this??
3rd, it’s a 1988
I watched this like ten times and got mine on but the wheel feels very tight and sluggish. Also when I drive and try to turn the wheel to where Its going straight it’s a little off and all my turning feels sluggish and over done. Anyone have any ideas to fix this? I spent all evening trying to fine tune but it’s time consuming.
I think the wheel has to be straight before you start taking stuff apart and installing? I did this install and my horn dosnt work anymore, suggestions?
I had this issue. had to back off the main bit holding it all on a bit. Enough where it wont come off but not quite as tight
@@yurunning5574 Gotta be a connection issue, make sure your terminals are touching nicely and there is a goldish metal tab that also has to be touching the quick release to activate the horn
