Love the money shot with the techno music lights and flashes.
Glad you liked it!
Turned out pretty darn good! 👍🏻
Thank you! Appreciate you watching 😀
I would have personally sanded and painted everything before putting the board's on, still a great video!
Appreciate you watching!
Nice job! I rebuilt my old trail a few years ago and Ike you it was really worth it. Keep up on the channel. I started mine 16 months ago and I just now crossed the 1000/4000 mark last week. Keep it up brother✌️
Nicely done! Now that the weather has turned where I live, I have some time to edit some videos that I took all summer. So I'm hoping to make a push for that 1,000/ 4,000 mark as well.
@@BrettsBuilds you will get it if you keep putting the videos out.
I saw your wa plates so I get the weather😔. I’m just south of you in Oregon
Haha lots of editing time around here in the winter ❄️
Looks really good! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you liked it 😀
Your stickers are on backwards 🤘🏼😎 red to back
Good eye, I had no idea there was a standard but that makes sense.
These new trailers aren't always better especially from big box stores. There are a select few companies that take pride in what they build, but you're still better off fixing your old trailer! Great video!
Totally agree, there are some big brands that are very expensive and horribly built. Thanks for watching
Great job man! I bought a totaled 6x12 dual axle dump trailer for my dad, steel bottom, 3 ft walls and a ramp gate. Took it apart, was able to salvage everything but one of the axles and got it looking brand new. Crazy what some new lights/paint and stickers can do to one of these.
Thank you and that's awesome! I love giving new life to old stuff.
Well done. It looks amazing. I'm sure it will last another 20 years. 😃
Thank you and I hope so!
That was really satisfying. I'm glad for you..
From Minneapolis
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video and good work! I enjoyed it, and now I’m feeling inspired to rehab my trailer.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching! Good luck with your trailer, do it!
Same!
Very well done video Brett! Kept me interested the entire time, I learned a ton, and walked away inspired to put more effort into my own DIY projects! Can’t wait to see another video release like this. KEEP IT UP!
I appreciate you! I look forward to seeing some of your projects as well! Get that new channel going!
Nice job on the trailer tip of advise the red on the reflective tape is supose to be towards the back of the trailer per DOT regulation
Appreciate you watching, thanks for the tip!
Love the work, i would love to get a beat up trailer for cheap and do this same thing
Thank you. I've seen a lot of them on Facebook marketplace for cheap. Or start with an old camp trailer and gut it down to the frame to start, those are often free. I hope you get to do it!
You must have a small skid steer. My T870s weigh 13,000lbs with no attachment. That's why I have a 9T gooseneck to haul them or the Case 580 backhoe. My 7K car hauler isn't near close to carrying it.
But nice looking trailer you have now.
I'd love to have your setup. T870 is one of the largest skid steers on the market. I have a Cat 287 which is 10k. This is a 14k equipment trailer, not a car hauler.
I'm definitely pushing it's limits. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
New deck and paint looks great! I'm surprised you didn't straighten out the fender before you painted. Do you have plants to rebuild the suspension and axle components? We recently did an overhaul on our 3 year old Diamond C and installed all new brakes. Our 5 year old enclosed trailer is in need of new suspension components.
Thanks for watching! Those are battle scars, builds character! 😁
Enjoyed your video. Simular to what I did to my trailer. Two notes. 1-You didn't paint inside the fenderwells. And, 2- you put the reflective tape on backwards. In many states the white is towards the front & red towards the back. Check your before and after pictures. Lets others know what direction you're going. Over all a great job !
Appreciate you watching, thank you. I was racing against the weather which is why the inner fenders didn't get done. Good eye on the stickers, I was unaware there was a specific order but that makes sense.
Great video, our channels are in the same stage it looks like. Keep up the good work and hopefully we can both get monetized soon!
Thanks for watching and good luck to you as well!
clever way to produce the video, nice keep up the nice work
Appreciate the input, thanks for watching!
Looks awesome
Thanks Jim! I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it turned out. You can put lipstick on a pig after all!
good video,
Thanks! Appreciate you watching and commenting 😄
good job
Thank you 😊
Legends say. Both him and the trailer was born on the same day.
Haha😊
😂 that's a good one!
Personally I would have repainted the underside framing while the boards were out to make it more rust resistant in the long run
Not a bad idea. Appreciate you watching
This video is fucking awesome man.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, much appreciated ☺️
Forgot to add you might also want to add a kicker brace on the dovetail to the first brace where the outer ramp structure welds to to prevent further bending from the skid steer.
Good call, I actually did add one on the underside but did not film it as it was under the trailer after the boards were installed. Would have been a lot easier to install first!
Are those pine boards? My trailer has some kind of hardwood boards.
It's pressure treated lumber
Man I thought this was Adam savage from Mythbusters 😂
😂 lol I've never heard that before but I can see it. Maybe I'll have to throw that Easter egg into one of my videos.
Why is the treat wood out there different from the treated wood we get on the East Coast? What's the orange tint, and why do they perforate the wood, for absorption of the chemical.
The color and indentation is the chemical they "treat" it with. It helps further absorb said chemical. I was not aware it was different on the East Coast, that is very interesting as I've never known any different than what's in the video.
Maybe someone else can chime in on the difference?
goddamn thats a purty property
Thank you! Lots of blood sweat and tears put into it and a lot more to come! Thanks for watching, I've got a bunch of new projects coming up soon. 😀
Also. Make some youtube shorts videos. They get shared way more then regular vids. That will bring up ur views and subs count. Works for me.
Appreciate the advice, thank you. The issue I've had with shorts is I have not taken the time to learn how to edit them quickly and send them back to my phone. I can't seen to find an "easy" way to upload shorts from the computer. My wife is my IT department, ha!
You need better Saftey chains. Saftey Reflective tape, red always goes to the rear.
Thanks for watching. I replaced my straps as well.
Awsome video lots of side money to be made flipping trailers on FB Marketplace place. One thing many people don’t think about is the crazy things people will trade for on there. If you can get past the annoying typical marketplace ignorance, trading opens up a whole new world I’ve traded for guns, tools, cars ETC
I love me a good trade! I always say that craigslist and marketplace are both the best and the worst. Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it
Why does everyone work backwards? People replace the boards then does paint, why not the other way around?
@@adamford6850 hindsight is always 20/20. What started as "time to replace the boards" led to "why not do more while I'm at it".
What happened to fixing that left fender?
That's from dropping an f350 off a forklift. Battle scar! They don't make fenders like they used to. It was a budget build, tried to make it as nice as possible while keeping the cost down.
I like the content but you need to fire your producer, the whole style of the video wasn't super enjoyable. I know it takes time to find your style so hopefully you get there since I liked watching what you were doing and it would be nice to see how your editing and so on grows.
Thanks for watching the video. It's just me; I'm the photographer, the editor, the low end talent, everything! Would love to hear your feedback on what you would like to see improved. I just learned to video edit so I'm winging it on the fly.
I tell you what though, I have a whole new appreciation for UA-cam content, stuff that I used to think wasn't that well produced. Now I realize how much work really goes into it.
@@BrettsBuilds I'm right there with you. I had a channel with 1,000,000 plus views and it was EFFORT!! And a lot of pressure! I eventually just deleted it. I have a ton of content I need to make but I over think it and the editing is annoying. You did great and I'm not trying to compare you to Andrew Camarata how has been at this for a decade. I guess if I were to say anything personally, I would rather see you hold the camera and walk around talking about something than the image over the photo. I think that would be easier for you as well. People love a story, a time lapse, I suck at the artistic shots but appreciate them. Ask for feedback at the end of your videos too. Maybe a title like "Putting $1,000 into a beat up old trailer" would be good, experiment with things like that.
Bullshit 😂
I liked the editing. 👍🏾
@@AdHocAtom appreciate the feedback!
i would've repaired that fender putting that much work in and weld some braces to support them and keep from getting banged up as much i mean you had the material it would've been free
other than that great job but you also didnt paint under the fenders that i seen you had the wheels off a can of rustoleum 7 bucks at walmart wouldve helped instead of roller brush
i do think stickers red goes towards back but i dont think it matters
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. I would like to repair the fender but they don't make fenders like this anymore. I dropped an f350 off of a forklift (whoops) on the fender and that's all the damage it got. Now days fenders bend if you stand on them.
Spray paint in the wheel wells is on the schedule, I ran out of time as this build was outside and the weather turned. Good points, thanks
Love the video, but what's this music? 😂 😂
Thank you for the love, as for the music..... I'm still learning about video editing and "flow". I think I'm getting much better, I had never done anything close to editing previously, learning on the fly. 😁
What brand and kind of paint is used?
I used a Rust-Oleum ag paint but am not that impressed with it after 6 months. I have another trailer I'm redoing now and am going to research some other paints.
I would've painted the rims White n you forgot to paint the wheel wells
I was debating painting them back to white but decided to go for a "murdered out" style look. I got lazy with the wheel wells, we were rushing to finish up before the rain started and good thing we did because it's rained every day since for 2 weeks and will probably continue until spring.
You didnt screw any of the boards down to the steel frame at all? I would've atleast done a few cross beams or every other c-channel cross braces. It would have straightened out the twisty boards and secured them better. So just the front of the boards goes under the angle iron & where it 'breaks' at the 'dovetail' has the flat stock holding them down? Yeah, I'm not sure id go that way, but to each their own.🤔🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️👍🏻👌🏻🛠️📐✏️📏🔧⚙️⛓️🔌🔋⚡💥💨🚜⚠️🍻
I see what you're saying, it's hard to see but the boards are held down on each long end and sandwiched tight side to side. There's no wiggle room either direction. After a week all the boards have all straightened out nicely. Thanks for watching and commenting with advice, appreciate it.
paint that door on the back of your truck ; )
Paint?! That's sticker residue from the ridiculously sticky ambulance stripes.
Instead of wasting all that tape on the tires grab a bottle of dollar tree dish soap and paint the tire before you spray
I'll have to try that, never heard that before. Thanks for watching
At least straighten out that fender a bit lol
Fender shmender! 😁
It's funny how you say that you're going to give the trailer the makeover that it needs but then you go to Harbor Freight
I mean it's a budget build... Harbor freight is awesome for that.
Awful music in the video. Other than that nice job
Thank you. Copyright issues messed up the audio when I had to replace a song. The UA-cam editor didn't erase 100% of the background song so it's 1 song plus 25% of another in the background. Note to everyone: know the difference between copyright free and royalty free songs!
@@BrettsBuilds ahh yup been there. I thought it sounded like 2 songs scrambled together lol
