That story you were sharing about the man that went through the combine window is Griggs Farms LLC on you tube. He is a cotton, soybean, wheat farmer in Tennessee. He put up a video about a month ago that told the story about the combine accident. He was very lucky.
Sounds like you're in my old stomping grounds. Born and raised in Selma. I heard mention of Tyler and Autaugaville, I figure you're close anyway. Enjoyed it!
Looks like the gins will not be making much this year. Adobe Walls Gin did 300 thousand 3 years ago, not much on the yard now. We had 675 acres but ended up with 200 to harvest because of a very dry Spring. Neighbor will get that next week in a day with his CS690. The corn for my land is 120 acres from the finish. 2020 will be a year to put behind us on the High Plains. Looks like Alabama was not so good.
Not sure if its the same story but with a lost "reason" but.... a youtuber recently had a similar incident when he was moving fields and hit a bump in the road which caused his corn head to fall off and roll under the combine. The result was pretty much the same. He was ejected out the front of the machine and narrowly missed being ran over. Will always wear a seat belt now.
Glad to see you wearing your seatbelt and happy that folks have learned from my mistake!
2:14 Matt Griggs!
Love that drone footage, beautiful scene both cotton pickers and the tractor in the same field
