    The red ring in the fuel filter bowl is a water indicator that floats when water is captured in there. Use the petcock to drain off the water if present. Enjoy your videos and the 3046r!

    Nice oil drain pan. I like to start my oil drain and walk away, go eat lunch , whatever, let it all drain out. I have time - I’m retired.
    I started using a maintenance log book for all my engines.

    We have the same exact tractor and I'm extremely grateful for your videos. We enjoy our 3046r cab. I too was not able to find any video on fuel filters except yours. God Bless you and your family. - I just got finished shredding about 25 very dry acres with a 6' rotary cutter and last time I changed out the air filter it was caked with fine dust, the cabin air filter has to be cleaned every afternoon and then replaced after 8 cleanings. It's so dry in central Texas. The front grill gets covered in dry grass clippings within about 20 minutes of cutting and then if I don't clean it off every 30 or so minutes the engine temp with get hot and the air will quit cooling in the cab. I purchased the 72" deck for ours too but we can't use it because it throws 10 times the amount of dust up and we end up having to clean the grill every 10 minutes. I've used it twice in over 2 years. Sad but true.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 роки тому +2

      New Yorkers love the great state of Texas! I don't have issues with dust on my property...water and mud. Dust is a problem trail riding off road. So dusty we can't see the rider ahead of us. You're mowing a lot of acres I'm glad the tractor is performing well. I'm so lucky to have nice viewers like you, thank you. Please stay healthy and enjoy your tractor.

    Always enjoy your videos. If you're looking for a scenic weekend of riding check out the Tour de Forest (Marienville fire dept website) later this month. Very low key, mostly fire roads. great scenery. It's around the area you filmed your ride last October, but on sections not typically open to atv riding.

    Due to age of video not sure if this comment will be seen but you should never blow out an air filter for an engine. It opens up larger holes in the paper cellouse al be it still small to allow larger dust particles thru. In a dual setup like this it’s ok to blow out outer filter but never inner filter. If single filter setup no blowing at all.

    The only air filter I didn't see you change is the one below the roof at the back of the cab. I've got a little over 200 hours on my 3046R. I did the 1st oil change at around 100 hours just like you did. I've got 200 hours now and I'm getting ready to make all the filter changes again on both oil and fuel filters. This time I'm going to do things differently. I'm going to use Mobil Delvac 15w 40 (100% synthetic). According to the John Deere owner's manual, it says that if you don't use John Deere oil that the oil is required to be API CK-4. The Mobile Delvac synthetic is API CK-4. So according to the manual, this oil meets all manufacturer specifications. I think that the full synthetic should give the engine a longer life. I'm still going to change my oil and filters at regular 100 hour intervals and not extended intervals.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  Рік тому +2

      I never changed that filter it’s probably due. You’ve researched that oil wisely that’s good. I always like to buy oil from the dealer so they have a record of my changes for warranty issues. Those yanmar engines last forever. Good luck with your tractor you know what your doing.

    Nice video. They have relocated that second fuel filter so it doesn't interfere with the third set of hydraulics on my 3046r. Still was almost impossible to unscrew. Maybe you did this off camera, but did you read the instructions on the fuel filter that says to put some diesel fuel on the gasket before installing? It is always important on fuel or oil filters to smear some oil or diesel on the gasket before installing.
