This is the most helpful 3038e video I have seen, thank you
Glad it was helpful.
Thank you much for the comment.
Well done. I agree with your comment on the oil dip stick. It is a pain 😂
Very much a pain.
As a first time tractor owner, this video was fantastic! Really appreciate it. Well done!
Thank you Mr. Doug.
Hey buddy i have one of these tractors that is written in Japanese. Great video ✌️
Thank you!
Thank you for this video! I appreciate the heads up about the O rings, and I especially appreciate how your camera wasn't flopping around giving me a headache. Great video.
Thank you Mr. Tim
Hi Eddie, you always make real good detailed videos. We had a small series 1 when we had 15 acres years ago and it was a work horse. We are getting a cool front this Sunday and some finally needed rain. God Bless you and your family. Mike
Hello Guy's and thanks for dropping in. I hope we get some rain also, it's very dry over this way. Thank care my friends and God Bless!
Thank you for this video. I just bought me a tractor just like this one, and this video was very helpful in changing these filters.
Thanks for Dropping in Tracy.
I enjoyed the video but I laughed way before you couldn't find where the dipstick went. At about 8:45 you said exactly what I was thinking. God bless
Yes, Sir it's crazy they make stuff like this when it's an easy solution to fix.
@@papawsplace i agree
Thank you kindly fir the instructional, sir.

You are welcome. Thanks for commenting!
Thank you, very informative
Thank you for the views and commenting!
Great stuff. Thank you for making this. I learned a few things.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the help. I have almost 50 hrs on my 3038E and an getting up the courage to attack it.
You got this, save yourself lots of money also.
Thanks for the excellent video…sure helped me changing filters in my new tractor!
Glad it was helpful my friend.
@@papawsplace I share your disdain for overly-tightened filters as well! 😂
@@kadecarthel5297 LOL
Enjoyed video!!!
Thank You
Thanks for the info. God Bless.
Thank you, Mr. Ben
Great Video sir! Thank u
Your very welcome and thank you for commenting. God Bless!
I like this stuff!
Hello Big Son's Thank you much sir. There will be more to come.
@@papawsplace I'll be watching for sure 💯💪🏽
Brilliant stuff buddy, looks an impressive little tractor, I'm guessing it's not the cheapest on the market having the branding it has, take care stay safe and god bless brother
Your correct Cam, the JD is selling its name more than the product being built. LOL that's why I don't own a JD. LOL
Nice tractor!
Just doing a job for another man Ms. Charlene. Mine is the Mahindra.
Oh man that gave me a good laugh! 😂. I have a John Deere 790 and I can vouch just how right you are on that dip stick. Such a pain. I have the hinge clips to remove the side cover on front and back so I believe the bolt was replaced on that one too. I believe I’m bout due for filter and oil change also. Great information!
JD could have done a better job with that dip stick for sure. All they have to do is make the tube and the dip stick long like on a pick-up truck and they could have them on top of the engines.
@@papawsplace Amen I agree.
Really enjoyed your video, told me everything I needed to know. Luckily my work tractor doesn't have a loader as she's just used for mowing the runway and airside and outfield grass at a small airfield over here in England.
Lovely little tractor though.
Glad to be of help my friend and thank you for commenting.
By far the best video on changing these filters and fluids. First time JD did it for me, it costs over $700. Granted they may have done a multi point inspection but $700???
Thank you much!
I cant tell you how many jack legs I wanted to hit, as a reefer trailer mechanic working on both carrier and thermoking diesels, folks think those fuel filters are pressured filters and need to go on with a torque wrench. They dont, keep doing them that way and you will wind up paying somebody else to remove those filters. Ive spent a couple hours with a cut off wheel just removing the filter base. Fuel filters are suction not pressure, oil filters are pressured, not suction. Loved the advise on making sure the filters are not double ringed, good way to screw your engine up.
The bad thing is people don't know and what read the directions on anything. LOL
thank you sir
Anytime.
Thank you
You're welcome
Look forward to changing hydraulic oil.
Well Mr. Hideskinner, it's not happening on this tractor at this time anyways. The fellow only wanted the filters changed this time.
Have you made a video for changing a dead battery on a 3038e with a bucket?
AND, have you found an easy way to line up the PTO shafts when changing implements?
(The output shaft will NOT rotate freely and I have to crawl under move a blade 14 times when by myself.) Thanks in advance.
I haven't made a video changing the battery out. The 3038 belongs to a friend I was servicing it for him. I set my bushhog on blocks, that way the shaft turns easy when time to hook it up.
Hi bud , I am sure glad you wasn’t gonna grease it , cause when you wasn’t looking…. I borrowed your grease gun …. By the way… you’re outta GREASE ! LOL ! Good video
Mr. Bill from this day on every time I get my grease gun out and it's no grease in it. I'm thinking of you my friend. LOL
Can you do a follow up on grease points and Joyce stick lube. This video really helped me with my 3032e. Thx
I would love to but that was not my tractor. I was servicing it for someone else.
You talking about John Deere being Chinese tractors reminds me of my brother in law that was one of those guys that’s got the attitude you only buy American! He bought a Ford Bronco of course thinking it was all American made. Should of seen the look on his face when he learned the transmission in his American made Ford was the same transmission in a Mitsubishi vehicle! 😂 Naturally I never let him live that one down! Since he loved bad mouthing my Japanese Datsun or Toyota I owned.
😂 Yes sir, them made in the USA stickers get to some people's head.
Question: I just bought a 3038E tractor from a guy that had 220 hours on it. I drove it for about an hour and it kept going dead so I changed all the filters on it and there was a lot of water in the water seperater. Now the tractor is going dead and the oil pressure light is blinking on and off. Do you have any idea what may be wrong?
That could be many things, First I would check my separator again and if it has trash or water in it again, I would drain the fuel tank and flush it good.
That writing on the Filter is Japanese which is where that Yanmar motor was made.
Japan made stuff is good stuff.
Just a little correction, but that writing is Japanese, not Chinese. Great DIY video by the way. I'm gonna be doing my 3320 soon since I bought it off an auction.
Some of that Made in the USA Japanese writing. 🤣🤣
I enjoyed the video and I also had trouble getting the dipstick back in the hole. The engineer who designed that setup needs to go back to school! Following the oil change, my Deere refuses to crank. I'm told that the logo in the dash indicates that there is low oil pressure in the engine. I need to know where the sensor that detects this low pressure is found so I can replace it. Thanks in advance for your help and God bless.
Wish I could help you but this was not my tractor so I can't help you with that one.
👍
Thank You.
What size bushhog is recommended for this tractor?
5 foot because the weight of a 6 foot is to much for the light weight of the tractor.
@@papawsplace Thank you so much.
You are very welcome
Pretty sure the writing on that fuel filter was Japanese as that's where the Yanmar engines are made.
Thanks for the helpful video.
Maybe, I barely can read English must less any foreign stuff. LOL
Love you style! But… what year 3038e do you have? I have a 2012, but it looks different than yours, and different than another UA-cam good ‘ol boy video which looks different than yours and mine! And no… I didn’t buy my JD 3038e from a guy in Tijuana Mexico asking me if I wanted to buy a tractor he had on the inside of his trench coat… like “genuine” Rolex watch.
🤣🤣I'm not sure what year it is, that was my brothers-in-law tractor I was doing a service on for him.
@@papawsplace Thanks for the quick reply. Like I said, I love your style! New subscriber here. If if you post something I’m not particularly interested in, I’ll still watch and “like” because of your way of talking to us here in the digital wasteland.
I appreciate that much! 🤣🤣🤣🤣I don't have any sisters available at this thime but I'll keep you updated if one come available. 🤠🤠
Howdy, great maintenance video! For you and any of your subscribers with a 3 series tractor if you ever lose your transmission and steering, come on over to my channel for the fix. I couldn’t find anything when I went through it so trying to help out!
Hello Slam's, Thanks for that info. I'll check it out. 👍
No pin up front. Comes from the factory as a 10mm.
👍
All I do is lift the loader up in the air way easier
They could still do better Sir. God Bless!
Be careful doing that. My 2 yr old grandson climbed into the drivers seat and threw the lever causing the bucket to crash to the ground pinning my foot. Screamed like a MF to get someone to raise the bucket. Moral: put a block under where the bucket contacts the ground. Or tie the grandson to a tree.
I have a 3-year-old grandson and I know what you mean. LOL
😂 Dip stick problem.
👍👍
