    I’ve lost 40kg and put it all back on... Now I sit here feeling like the biggest failure and absolutely disgusted by myself. It’s almost like I sabotage/punish myself with eating...This up and down happened a few times already ..It’s mental 🤦🏻‍♀️ I admire people who can find a balance..while I go from one extreme to the other, over and over.

    I’m confused at the thumbs down . Jesus you are honestly the only real authentic person that thousands are relating to. Years and years of torture through body hatred/ shame/ secrecy/ binging/ purging/ etc and here’s you letting the world know through your 10 year journey that it’s not ok to place your self worth on your weight. You have a serious message to get out there. I actually bought colorful clothes for the first time in years after watching your primark haul. Some of us body haters can’t afford the ridiculous costs of therapy. And then there’s you. Always there. Always lovely and know exactly what it feels like to be in a body that is apparently not allowed by society’s standards. I’m so glad you gained weight and embraced your beautiful self. You are very gifted in communicating this very sensitive issue to the masses and I am so glad I found you. Lots of love and respect from the west of Ireland. Ps. You should do speeches and talks about this stuff publicly.Plenty of us need to hear you xx

      LoseitlikeLauren Hey Lauren, thanks for reply. Wearing clothes with colour is a bit daunting, I feel like I'm drawing attention to muscled . This is a mindset I have to change, My little girl said that mummy wears black so she can hide- I can't have her inheriting my damaged self esteem, Im really gonna work on it for both of us.     OMG I found you again! I followed you before, 2 years ago? and life, well life went tits up with my husband saying he didn't want me anymore....oh well his loss. Anyway 2 years later and about 80 lbs more than I should be, I was, am working on being a new and improved me. Open up UA-cam and there is your beautiful face again. So I am back in the club and looking forward to our journey together. Love ya!

    Oh Lauren I love you so much. You are so real. What a lovely person. I've been following you for a few years now and missed you when you stoped sharing. I also achieved my goalbweight and yes put loads back on. I feel awful my back hurts I am lazy and hate all my clothes. I need to get back to how I was. I felt so good when I was lighter and I want to feel good again. Just like you my weight has always affected my life and I am right on board with you. I can and will do this. Thanks Lauren for your advice and best wishes for a happier healthier life.

    You keep me inspired. Love watching as always. I am back on track as well. Was down 70 lbs but put on 20 lbs after medicine and just getting out of routine. I started with gardening, yardwork and cleaning out my house to get off my bum. I love how I feel when I am on track. Keep Smiling!

    I watched your journey a couple years ago when I was “serious” about losing weight. I loved how energetic and happy and beautiful you looked in the vids. Fast forward to now, i still haven’t lost all the weight BUT I did finally become serious about it a couple months ago and am down 24lbs. Excited to lose the rest of the weight with you!

    I'm not sure how the universe manages to do it, but everytime i watch one of your videos, it's exactly what i need to hear. I've struggled with binge eating most of my life and portion control is becoming much easier for me, and something I feel really positive about. Thank you for being amazing and so honest.

    I had to stop tracking my food. I'm just trying to focus on what and how much I eat. Eating less junk and more fruits and veggies (not cutting out the junk completely) and focusing on moving. I am learning more.about myself and how my brain works because my focus isn't just on my weight, but my over all health. It's all intertwined and I can't just focus on the food. That's not living.

    Great Video.. I feel like i've been restarting quite a lot lately. I've a similar story to yours, I lost over 120 lbs, I had a tummy tuck and BA and gained weight back with quite a rough recovery.. and haven't been able to lose the weight since.. and when i gain weight, it's a massive struggle to get it back off again. I do wish I'd started my youtube channel way back in the beginning so i could revisit the videos and watch the mindset and traits.. I feel like I'm lost with the mindset.. probably because Im comfortable. Think the biggest thing for me is my nutrition. exercise I've got it down but you cant out exercise a bad diet!

    So excited to hear what you are doing! You can do this! These tips are seriously sooooo important! I love the focus on the NSV because we all know how much that can screw up your mental state!
    I too lost almost 60 lbs then gained all of it back and more. I am in the process of losing it again. Ive lost about 25lbs but really still have about 60 to lose! I have decided to document it on youtube this time. So excited to do this along side you and follow along!

    I am so excited to join you again! I have been back at it for 2 weeks now. I had this "a-ha" moment 2 weeks ago that weight loss really is simple. Simple... not easy. There's a difference, but I heard a UA-camr say, "I eat healthy versions of things I like." My head exploded. It's not some crazy revelation, but it was this crazy eye-opening moment for me. I've been hitting the gym and pushing through. I still haven't found the exercise that thrills me, but I will! I've watched your videos for YEARS and simply adore you!

    These are really good tips! What helped me to lose weight was to stop tracking calories and weighing myself every day. I refuse to cut out all carbs, fat or what ever. Now I eat regular food everybody else eats in regular amounts. I don't feel restricted and feel like this truly is a lifestyle. We can do this!
    Edit: Brain over binge is the book that made me realise I have control over myself and eating, such a great book!

    I loved your video Lauren! I have reached my rock bottom in my health, my weight, and in my relationships. I am ready for changing myself to feel better and to treat myself better. When I feel good about myself, I treat others better. I am in a bad place emotionally after my stroke 11 months ago that has made me gain 40 lbs. on top of my 210 lbs, 5’ 2” body frame. I’m so ready to be me again... I am ready!

    I NEEDED to see this! I had my baby in late January this year, prior to my pregnancy i managed to lose 30kg just eating well and exercising. When I had my baby I was 1/2kg lighter than my prepregnancy weight! Since being at home and dealing with baby blues I’ve put on 14kg - I’m disgusted in myself. I comfort eat and just say to myself it doesn’t matter I’m fat anyway. I need to change. I need to. But have no motivation. I feel like I’m not worthy, worthy of being slim or attractive. Sorry for this outburst under your video. I guess I need to get my arse in gear!

      Lauren YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! You body has produced another human!!! I could never imagine what you are feeling but let me please tell you, YOU ARE WORTHY OF EVERYTHING! Do not focus on the 14kgs, focus on little steps that you can make every day to change the way you feel! Even if that is just by a fraction of a bit, it will all add up xxx

    I think your tip about clothes is SO IMPORTANT. That is exactly where I find myself. I feel disgusting in my clothes and I can't imagine ever getting back to feeling better.

    I so echo everything you have just said, I want to be the best person I can and it has been a long journey and I still have a long way to go.I can't wait to follow you om your continued journey as I am on mine. Just got back from gym after yet another illness and then going away and it feels great to get back to it. I finally found a counselling that worked for me and that has made such a difference to me. I actually got to buy new clothes to go away with and I really enjoyed it where I never did before. Take care and continue keeping up the vids as I find them so inspiring Thanks for everything xx

    I got so happy and optimistic when you said you're doing the couch to 5k, because I am doing it as well! I'm currently at Week 5 and I've been really happy with it so far!
    It was recommended to me by a friend and she has already completed it, but it makes me happy to see it mentioned by an awesome person like you!

    I absolutely loved this video I cried watching , everything you said rang true with me I'm at the start of my journey I've lost 1 and half stone ....I have a long way to go but I'm determined and I'm so proud of myself today I managed the first time for 4 yrs to walk my dog and I loved it I had the biggest smile.

    Great video Lauren, I really needed this! I lost 3 stone with Slimming world a while ago but gained it all back and some after I stopped going. I feel like crap all the time, I had thrown all my bigger clothes away vowing I would never need them again now hide myself away in cheap baggy tops. I need to get my arse into gear again.

    "I'm such a lesbian" is probably one of the most common lines out of my mouth lol
    I've been in a bit of a...rut, we'll call it. I needed the reminder to put myself first and focus on the right things. Putting the focus on the day-to-day changes as opposed to the end result is one of those things that I know I need to do but have a huge problem getting my mind to actually work that way.

      Work out why you have been in the rut and then focus on a couple of things that you have change daily. Make them small and doable

    1) So I can be around for my daughter. So I'm not hot and exhausted anymore.
    2)I will start a yoga regimen at home in addition to my once a week personal training.
    3)Dropping soda to once a week. Increasing my water intake.
    4) I will try to focus more on what I'm eating.
    5) Trying to break the habit of, "cleaning my plate," is so hard!
    6) Consistency is one of my biggest hurdle.
    7) I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I feel good when I get new clothes. On the other hand, am I giving in to my weight by getting something that I fit in? This is something I'm going to try and unlearn.
    8) I don't know what my best self could be...
    9) Instant gratification is my biggest crutch... I will try to be patient.
    10) I will try to start thinking of something good about myself every day.
    11) Counseling has helped me tremendously. I'm so proud that I have done this because it is so important to learn the tools that can help you.

    Thank you so much for speaking the right way about the topic of weight loss.
    I've been fat, thin ( actually lost it healthy through exercise) , but now I've gained again course I eat impulsive out of misery. (Yes I'm so conscious of all, but I'm also stuck to a desk all day, every day on difficult stuff which kills all my willpower.)
    The one person I'm most happy I've heard speak on the topic is professor Robert Lusting.

      I got a C25K app on my phone, but I've decided to do it differently. I'm only going to do one week progress each month. So, for April I did week one, May, week 2, June, Week three, etc. I found it progressed too fast for me and I couldn't keep up. I'm 214 and jogging nine minutes every day. That's pretty dang cool

    This is an ear marked day for all of us Lauren. I have been half assed (I wish) as well since the 1st of January. TODAY, my dearest woman (no longer a girl) we will collectively figure out how to have have our cake and eat it too (food analigy). Figuring out how to have a life and still lose weight. When I meditate I still imagine you grabbing my right hand and your mum grabbing my left but now it includes your partner saying,"get on,get going, you can do this!" And one day, when you visit San Fran we can go hand in hand up one of those big ass hills!...and laugh about it thinking 'now was that so hard!? YOU are my personal trainer and I am your client . Help me Obiwan, you are my only hope!

    Thanks Lauren...you have kickstarted my week!! After eating one or two scones on Saturday celebrating the Royal wedding... Time to get back on track...had my lemon water, walked the dog, watered the garden and just had runny poached eggs (you would have enjoyed them😉) and its only 7.40am here in #sunnycyprus☀️🌡and hot which explains the dog walk at 5.30am!!! Xx

    Thank you so much for this video, I really needed it! I know what you mean about clothes as I got a lovely floral red dress for my birthday in a size that actually fits (not too small) and I feel so good in it and it makes me want to take care of myself and get healthy. We can do this! We're on it 😄 💜

    Enjoyed your video. I’ve tried mindful eating and unfortunately had short periods of success. I still haven’t found long term success with anything I’ve tried. I know if I continue to make healthier choices I can achieve my goals. Now it’s not about a size but about my health. Thank you for your tips.

    YES!! you are speaking to me right now ... diet culture is SO damaging ... It is exhausting when life revolves around food and exercise and tracking food and exercise and thinking about food and exercise .... you lose your life ....life becomes about food and exercise. it takes work to break that mindset of bad/good... mindful eating takes work but it works !

    Good Luck Lauren, great healthy and sustainable approach. I have about 4 and a half stone to shift. I have already lost a stone and a half, but still a way to go. Agree about the scales. I do pop on once a week, I used to do it every day and it was messing with my head. I ll try and make it once a fortnight. All the best xxx

    Before I saw this video from you,,and thank you for this...anyway I was like you I lost a lot of weight and put some of it back on...I feel exactly the same as you are saying here.i feel am lost in myself .and shouldn’t be relying on my other half to pick me up..in truth I feel miserable most days .every pre winter I buy a new set of work out clothes I look in the mirror and cry.wash them and hide them in the wardrobe..and it’s me that am doing this too no one else....please. I will support you .and hope I will follow along ,..maybe this time I will reach my happy goal and make me inside a better stronger person.

    I'm doing couch to 5k too! I'm about to finish week 3 tomorrow morning. I always thought I hated running but I think it was because I didn't have a specific goal in mind. I definitely need that to continue with fitness programs :)

    Great tips. I lost 80lbs on a liquid diet and then didn't really have much help once the liquid portion ended and then a major stressful incident happened and I .... Ate what I shouldn't and a lot of it. Gained 50back. So I am also starting over.
    This video is everything people should know. Let's do this together

    I need to start again. To be fair I’ve already started in trying to drink more. I also need to watch this video again and write down the key points when I’m less tired. I was going to post loads more but probably fits better under the pity idiot video. Hopefully I’ll be back on tomorrow. Going to to my mindfulness app now - another change and settle down to bed.     Hi Lauren. I've been watching your channel in recent months and really enjoy it. I was wondering why you no longer talk much about food, habits, weight or weight loss. I understand you are more body positive leaning, but I watch quite a few plus size youtubers and rather enjoy content about the constant battle to get slimmer and healthier 😂 as it's something i'm struggling with too. ❤

    You'll hate me, I'm doing keto but it's helping me get used to mindful eating, the high fat keeps me satisfied plus, I was a carb addict

      I don't believe that we should ban any foods that we love. Trust me, I have been there and it only leads to sad obsession. Well done for the mindful eating though :)

    I went vegan two years ago. I just eat whole plant foods as much as I want and just have been losing weight steadily with no restricting. Lots of carbs ❤️ feeling great!

    I'm 29 and for the first time in my life I have gained quite a bit of weight. I've been 9 stone for years and now I'm almost 11 stone. I feel so gross, depressed and unhealthy.
    I can't fit in my clothes.. 😭😭
    But losing the weight is difficult.. I've been living with a friend and we have been constantly eating takeaways and other crap. (They're a bad influence lol) I tried eating more healthy which isn't difficult for me as I like fruit, veg, salad etc. But seeing someone else eat a cheese burger is just torture and I want one.. So I eat one. Fail.
    I can't believe what you said about the volvic water though! I was living on that water for about a year just recently... Now I'm wondering if that's what has also contributed to my weight gain. Shooooook. 😣😱

      Get rid of the volvic water now! :) Focus on moving more. Don't worry about eating a burger, you still have to enjoy your food! Try and encourage your friend to get on this healthy life style together xx
