  • In this video, I use a variety of traditional wood turning tools. Although I don't use a scraper, it is a valuable tool for any woodturner's tool chest, and I highly encourage any woodturner to give this project a go.
    I hope you enjoy the video.
    Cheers, Kezza.

      Thanks so much for the comment, Rod.
      Yeah, I completed the first 100 last week and a bit ago, among my other gigs. I’m trying to pace myself and not burn out. I have until November to get them done, but I want to try and smash them out while maintaining really good quality.
      Hope you have been well, mate.
      Cheers,
      Kez

      It turned out really nicely. I was a little worried when I was filming it. Didn't think it would hold up. Cheers, mate.

    Beautiful. I love camphor. I find it a dream to turn. The colors it has are to die for. And that smell, I love it even though it can burn my eyes a bit. Lovely little dish.

      Thanks so much, Doug. I absolutely love the smell. It does get a little overpowering sometimes, for sure👌

    Beautiful little bowl/platter! Love the colors of the wood.
    Love the videos brother. Keep them coming. I’ll be having to get shoulder surgery soon, so I’ll have plenty of downtime to watch them. Can’t wait to get back to the lathe!!

    Kezzz , watched your vid from start to finish, mainly cos I was waiting for that straight edge to fall off the wall again! lol nawww I Gotta say your turning skills are Bonza mate, that little dish would be ideal for chocies, M&Ms, nuts, etc or just to look at for the simple natural beauty. You did well and and i picked up a few tips too! Keep on keeping on Cheers!

    Getting better. Thanks. You are right concerning quality. That’s what defines you big guy. It’s probably not any faster than you do it but you might try Battys method on a couple just for giggles. He says it’s the fastest. I know Mahoney has switched to that 40 grind

    • @KerryCorney
      @KerryCorney  2 місяці тому

      Because they are going to 700 people and potentially those reviving are turners themselves so I have to maintain top quality. 👌 thanks, mate.
      Are you saying try the 40-degree grind?
      I should give it a go on one of the gouges. Cheers for the heads up, mate.

    Nice bowl/plate/dish. I have to try that method of measuring. Just curious, how would the base be at 2/3 instead of 1/2?

    • @KerryCorney
      @KerryCorney  2 місяці тому +1

      Hey mate, the base was half for this platter. Bowls are 1/3rd. Does that make sense mate?
