  • In this video, I am going to show you how to reach the max motor speed of the Fiido D11 by reprogramming two motor parameters.
    #Note this mostly has effect on pure throttle mode rather the pedal assist.

    In Germany there is a 10% tolerance ... at 25 kmh a maximum of 27.5 kmh is allowed

    When you configure a tire size smaller than the actual tire size, the displayed distance traveled will be less than the right traveled distance.

    There must be some issue, I also experience the same result as other have been reporting: it does not work on my D11. Increasing the wheel diameter does result in lower true speed, as expected, so that parameter does seem to have effect. But LOWERING the diameter to 150 or 160 still results in TRUE GPS speed of only 25 kmh (P3 was set to 36). Anyone has the same problem?

    As stated in your comments, it does work with electric-only mode, but not with pedal assist. Do you have any workaround to get motor assistance for higher speeds than 20km/h? I had a Specialized Turbo in the past which was giving assistance up until 27-28km/h, then it had a hard cut-off. 20km/h is a bit underwhelming to be honest.

    I have tried it and it works. If I leave P2 at 200, the real speed (GPS) is 20 Km/h but the display shows 25 Km/h, but if I change P2 to 150 the real speed increases to 24-25 Km/h, but the display shows 20Km/h, so what you really get is that the bike goes at the maximum speed that the specifications say. Has someone else proved it?

    • @PocketJumper
      @PocketJumper  3 роки тому +1

      It does show you the speed but biased with the new wheel diameter. In other words, when setting it to 150 wheel size. The speed shown on the display is 25% lower than your actual speed. Example: When it displays 20kmh you are actually going 25kmh.

      @pocketjumper, can you confirm? @simon, does this actually change the units on the display, or does it just work that way due to the conversions and the changed wheel size?

      The display still shows kmh, but the numeric units are actually mph.
      I have checked it against my Garmin Sat nav.
      Depending on how you hard you inflate your tyres, you may want to lower that number by 1 or 2 for increased accuracy.
      As for the Odometer - the logged distance you have already done that will not change its still in km.
      Any distance you travel after changing your settings will be in miles.

    I was really in two minds weather to get the d11 or the d4s as the d4s can easily hit 36kmph with a simple hack but i like the d11 better so this is a game changer but does it defo hit 28 kmph can you confirm please

    Weird question. I'd like the bike to have a mode where it's switched on(so you have access to the light, pedometer and throttle), but doesn't provide any assistance unless you push the throttle. Do you think it's possible?

    • @PocketJumper
      @PocketJumper  3 роки тому +3

      Hi John, by default this is not possible. However, when opening up the plastic box on the rear of the bike you get access to the motor controller. All you need to do (in theory) is to disconnect the 3 wire PAS Sensor from the controller. Then No pedal assist should occur, however, the bike should be turned on with a working throttle and light. Should be a 3 wire cable as in this example pic: de.aliexpress.com/i/4000813054253.html
      Hope that helps.

    Thanks for this!! Does this action adversely impact the bike overall?

    • @PocketJumper
      @PocketJumper  3 роки тому

      To be honest - I have not yet noticed anything bad yet. And I probably have used it for 400k with the adjustment yet. Since, the motor specification state that it is generally capable of going up to 28kmh, I doubt that the motor will go to flames anytime soon. However, going always to the maximum speed possible can surely decrease the lifespan of a technical device. Same as running ur car always at 200kmh ;) (Considering you life in Germany and have access to the AutoBahn)

    I saw a tip about setting P2 to 06 instead of 150, can you confirm it results in the same speed at the end or should we keep it at 150?
    Thank you!

    • @linebonkers5568
      @linebonkers5568 3 роки тому +1

      This only difference is that the current speed the display shows you will be way more off by 06 instead of setting it to 150. With 150 you will be reaching the max motor power as well and the display still gives you some sort of "normal" speeds aka only 1/4 off the actual speed.

    • @PocketJumper
      @PocketJumper  3 роки тому +5

      Definitely noticeable - I was kind of disappointed with the default speed aka 22kmh. Going up to 28kmh feels way faster especially on throttle alone.

  • @pdaaquino
    @pdaaquino 3 роки тому

    What happens if you set the tire size lower than 150, will it go faster than 28kmh? What tire size should it be to run 30knh?

    • @PocketJumper
      @PocketJumper  3 роки тому +1

      There is generally no change in speed if you go below 150 as the max power the motor provides is around 28kmh. In order to increase the power of the motor you need to provide more current to the motor - however, Fiido's motor controller is not programmable besides the 3 parameters I mentioned in the video. You would need to buy a programmable motor controller in order to do this.

      @@PocketJumper i did what you said but then maxed out at 21 so at 150 wheel size that would be around 24. So no speed difference. Before I bought it, i asked them and they said there would be a speed hack. Now they say no speed hack. Lied to sell. I'm very disappointed.

    • @PocketJumper
      @PocketJumper  3 роки тому +2

      @@robperatic Thanks for the response, but your calc is not accurate. If the wheel size is 150 instead of 200, and you reach 21kmh this ultimately corresponds to 28kmh (as (21 / 150) * 200 =28kmh). I did measure every ride with GPS and it seems to work as expected. However, I am totally on the same page with you regarding the overall speed and pedal assist. Therefore, I am looking into buying a programmable motor-controller (such as de.aliexpress.com/item/33006307946.html). The idea here is to increase the current to the motor to make the motor run faster and to get a smoother pedal assist (and hopefully not put it onto flames ;) Keep u updated here. Btw, would be cool if you could change your "does not work" comment. Thanks Robert.
