    I am learning Spanish by myself since that it is not part of the curriculum in my school.
    In my country, it is very rare to meet a Spanish-speaking guy to talk to.
    But i am still eager to learn Spanish. I'd like it to be my third language, just next to English. English is my second.
    Spanish is the language of the future!

      In fact, we spaniards often have problems when it comes to the pronunciation when speaking in English. We find it hard to remember the particular pronunciation, because we find the lack of a real rule confusing. We pronounce each vowel always the same, but in English it varys.

    Mexico is not South America, nor is it central america (maybe sometimes it's classified as central america or mesoamerica) Mexico is North America. NORTH AMERICA. It's ok, you didn't know, its a common mistake, but actually Mexico is the 3rd largest North American country, it has the 2nd largest population and 2nd largest economy in North America. It is part of the NAFTA, the NORTH AMERICAN Free Trade Agreement. But otherwise, your video was good.
    Very good video. Very good and informative I think you covered all the good points on why someone should learn this language. I'm a Mexican and my native language is Spanish, I also uploaded a video like yours but like well over a year ago, you should watch it. It's called "Why learn Spanish? Reasons to learn Spanish"

      @LindsayDowLanguages  9 років тому +2

      Thank you for clearing that up! Sorry if I offended you. :)
      I guess technically Central America is also considered North America in terms of continents, right?
      Amazing that Mexico has the 2nd largest economy in North America! Does that mean Canada is third?
      Thanks for watching and commenting! Will check out your video! :)

    • @supermonk3y07
      @supermonk3y07 9 років тому

      Its ok lol. I just find it annoying that people say Mexico is south america.mesoamerica is what would be like from central mexico (mexico city area) down to Panama. Central American countries are collectively considered part of North America too, but yeah its OK haha no biggie. I just wanted to let you know. Mexico is the 2nd largest economy in North America larger than Canada, yeah that makes Canada 3rd because Mexico has a much larger population. Mexico I would say is kind of like China or India (only less extreme) where they have a large economy but that's because they have a large population. The wages suck though.
      Thank you if you can watch my video that'd be great. =D
      Of course though culturally even though Mexico is geographically in North America, I think we share more in common with say Colombia or Peru, or Ecuador even Brazil, than the USA & Canada. There are times such as going from El Paso (USA) to Juarez (Mexico) will make you feel like you just crossed a different continent, but though there are many similarities too. The USA and Mexico, especially the southwestern US and northern Mexico share things in common such as history and culture, and of course in more recent decades major cities and touristy areas have gotten more americanized too.

      Antonio Maldonado Don't worry! I would never say Mexico is in South America! (I did write + Central America on the video to cover Mexico to Panama).
      I have spent 3 months in Costa Rica which is a fantastic country and I'm travelling big time in a couple of years when I've finished studying and will definitely be doing the whole of South and Central America. :)

      Bueno de hecho si vienes a México aquí ocupamos mas palabras del español antiguo que los propios españoles; debido a que el idioma evoluciono de manera diferente, un ejemplo es "estamos platicando" en España "estamos charlando"

    • @afcambroz
      @afcambroz 9 років тому +13

      cone091 En los países latinoamericanos que se habla español también se considera lengua materna, así que no veo válido su argumento. En cuanto a los "cambios" que hacemos, es normal que un idioma cambie de una región a otra o de un país a otro si en estos es un idioma materno. Un ejemplo es Barcelona y las Islas Canarias, igual sucede entre los mismos países de América Latina que hablan español y España. Todos esos cambios más bien enriquecen el idioma, como lo dicta la lingüística moderna, ya no se basa en la gramática tradicional en la que hay que seguir un modelo preestablecido para hablar de manera "correcta". Así que pienso que cualquier país en el que se hable el español como lengua materna es un buen lugar para aprenderlo.*Aclaro lo de países latinoamericanos en los que se habla español porque no todos tienen como lengua materna el español.

There are lots of academies and universities that offer studying foreign languages plus there are lots of communities in town to practice. English, Spanish, Korean, Tagalo, Chinese ( Mandarin & Cantonese), Farsi, Arabic, Hebrew, etc not to mention some indigenous languages or dialects such as Maya. Also UCLA offers courses on “ dead” languages such as Ancient Greek and Ancient Egyptian.

    I study Spanish all by myself, it's not a part of my school.studies or curriculum or anything. It's rare to meet even a foreigner in my place, let alone Spanish- speaking.
    I was just bored one day when I heard a Spanish song and I liked the way it sounded. So I decided to learn Spanish. Without any reason, I'm still eager to learn it for some reason. I guess boredom can make you do crazy things
