My mother is African American & my papa is Puerto Rican & Cuban. I was born speaking Spanish and it was my first language. When my parents split up I lost my native tongue of course but I’m slowly but surely learning as I go. I’m always around my tía and abuelito to learn the slang terms. It makes me more comfortable. I've been learning Spanish for 3 months and it's definitely the easiest language to learn ,some pronunciation might be hard to say but the language is very straightforward unlike french and Italian

I was just thinking about it last night. I've been speaking English my whole life. I'd consider myself better at the language than most people with a high school education. I read a lot and even write poems and Short stories. I still find myself learning new words all of the time. Because we've done it our whole life it's never felt Like we put much work into learning our native language but we've invested a lifetime into learning it. Learning just one language is a lot of work. Two seems like a super power to me. I'm here because I work at a Mexican restaurant and want to communicate better with my fellow employees.

I’m so glad I got to learn spanish at my high school. I speak fluent Arabic and english and I was able to pick up Spanish so easily. I don’t know why. I struggle with French but for some reason Spanish comes easy
I think that is because you’ll be able to understand 70% of spanish words if you know Arabic and English. So then you’d have to just work on the verbs and greetings. Along with accent. No wonder it was easy for you

@@ashleyfolklore El mas o menos, no tiene el mismo significado en ingles (lo puedes usar para distancia en caso de poner more or less, pero cuando te digan ¿como estas? responder more or less, no tendria sentido), la forma correcta de decirlo, seria: "so-so" o "not too good". Nada means the little water drops on the leaves in the morning that been caused by the water vapour and its a really beautiful seen and name. I am actually an Egyptian and arabic is my first language
I'm learning Spanish - huhu this year 2024 it's my new goal. I'm from the Philippines, some words are the same and the way we count but we really use English here most of the time. It's kinda hard still, I need to use it for conversation but nobody knows to speak Spanish here.

@Gamer Rojas No lo es, porque el español tiene muchos tiempos verbales, conjugaciones, dialectos, y además no es inclusivo, pero el inglés si. En español existen el y la. Y en inglés solo existe the. El español es mucho mas difícil para un angloparlante que el inglés para un hispanohablante.

I know Brazilian Portuguese it helps to understand Spanish. I speak German because I studied in Germany. I tried to learn French my God that is difficult. Imagine difficulty to learn Japanese and Chinese which are entirely different in script and sound. Learning languages is a good useful hobby.
