These types of wealthy men either spend the $ on a super yacht because they don't care about the costs or loss, annually and out of pocket right away, or they LOVE the ocean and basically spend all of their time on it so they justify that way....or they see it as an investment that they can rent out to slightly less wealthy families and couples year round for pretty massive profits.

I use to hook up with a girl who was a full time stewardess on the Dolan family yacht. (owners of The Knicks, Rangers, Madison Square Garden, Optimum etc) I don't think they got paid great (not bad though) but she was just a stewardess. The Engineers and Captain make great money.

There are no trillionaires in the world, so an $8 trillion yacht would have to be owned by a company and even then it is a lot of money.
If I had that kind of money, I'd put more of it into a mansion and the surrounding grounds than on a "boat."
