Hey Cosmic .. glad you like .. to be honest, the lit up cloud demonstration I put in this video probably only needs to be tweaked a little bit (ie, getting colours right) so as to make a pretty decent nebulas .. give it a go .. see how it turns out!
Thanks for the quick tutorial on how to utilize the new feature. Another idea that i know some struggle with is "hair fitting", some hairs are quite interesting to get fitted properly on quite a few models
Hey Mikael - glad to have been some help .. When you say "hair fitting" - what problems are you specifically having? I can't say I've had much problem with hair fitting myself - so if you can give some more detail so I know what your problem is ..
@@RaukoDaz3D When you get the black circles/spots ie when the hair bottom/cap don't "autofit" vs the models (and i mean say G8F with a G8F hair ie matching setup) and that happens when doing morphs that changes for instance the entire face (like a proper smile that don't just affect just the bottom of the face but even the upper part towards the hair) then the circles/spots (pokethroughs basically where the blending edges causes the darker lines). Typical examples are model aimi, hair Wicker with a proper smile - Then the top/side of the hair cap goes to low and the lines appear... even when the morphs are suppose to follow and the collision/autofit have tons of iterations to do its job
@@mikael2670 Do you mean black lines on the forehead like in the following video? If so - many hair assets come with various "adjust morphs" to change the size of the hair cap such as "Adjust Forehead" .. check if this video covers what you mean : ua-cam.com/video/2B8sRDu5cz8/v-deo.html
Looked straight away in the Daz studio tutorial folder... duh, lol, my shader preset folder isn't there....hahaha... Love the Tutorial... having fun with it now, Thanks Rauko.
Yeah, it's pretty easy to knock up something pretty decent, pretty quick .. will see how it is a couple of months down the line when people have got to grips with it ..
Hey Zoey - while you're right to say "broken" for us .. techincally, the ghost lights are now fixed and working properly in Iray and as they should .. it wouldn't be Daz ir Iray if it didn't fix and break something at at the same time ... 😄😄
@@zachwalraven You're right! Neither mesh lights or Ghost lights will work for me now!! I was stupid to update Daz! It never works properly for ages!!!
@@RaukoDaz3D You're preaching to the choir. ...and they're not broken for me because I'm staying on 4.16 until my game is completed. I've too many scenes I reuse.
Hey Sander .. Is it? I'm sure the button (at least) was there in 4.16 as I'd pressed it before .. Maybe it's the sliders / morphs that have been added underneath?
@@RaukoDaz3D yes it is. it was only the Matte fog that was there. Ground fog is new since it relies on the new volumetrics engine of the new version of iRay

Fantastic tutorial! I hope you follow it up with how to use volumetrics to create space nebulas!

Wow, just out and now a tutorial already! Super appreciated! Thank you Rauko!
Heh, thanks Biscuits! The release of 4.20 just happened to coincide with my upsurge in energy levels .. :)
@@RaukoDaz3D ah…pump up the volume in multiple ways then lol. Glad to hear!

Hehe! Yeah, I should make it more clear when I mention MY Daz Tutorial folder .. but, you got there in the end .. have fun!
informative TY.
Great!!!!!! I have learned a lot from you. thank you very much!
You're welcome Vladimir .. have fun!
Ground fog is new with the volumetric upgrade. (Matte fog is different and has been around.)
Yeah, I'd seen the fog buttons on there for a while but hadn't really looked at them despite pressing buttons a few times .. :)
Great tutorial, I have been playing with it today and just created an urban fog scene with street lighting, not bad for the first time.

awesome :D
Is that all 4.20 has to offer that's different?
That and broken ghost lights that you have to retune for every seen you have them in. Store bought or user made. Not worth it IMO.
There's obviously things being tweaked in the background and an update to Iray .. but there's not much more to write home about that I can see ..

Nice, but Stable diffusion AI solves so much..
