Interview of The 700 Club with Caryl Matrisciana, an expert on world religions. Harry Potter is exposed as witchcraft. See how even occult tools are being marketed as toys for children.
Taken from the DVD Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged.
Deuteronomium 18:9-14 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. (10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. (13) Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. (14) For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
Leviticus 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
Lev 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

There was an ex-witch who said that HP is rife with actual witchcraft practices, observances, spirit/demon names that are used in rituals, and many others. The main thing that she said is that these books are doing more for witchcraft and getting it out there to the masses. She also said that people are absolutely clueless to accurateness of all of the books.

Nonsense like this makes all Christians look bad. I'm Christian, maybe even what you'd consider a fundamentalist or evangelical, but I know this is nonsense. Why do these people fear anything popular? In the end, the Harry Potter had great themes of self-sacrifice and brotherhood - something any Christian should be proud of.

    Part 7
This could only mean for me that the Bible is supernatural, far more stronger than things I had experienced in the spirit world. Because of these things I gave my life over to Jesus January 6, 1994. Before that time I never went to Church, but God had revealed himself to me personally. The next morning I stood up, and I felt a very strange feeling: I just was different. Later I understood that when you give your life to Jesus, the Holy Spirit is coming to life in you. That's what I felt.

I'm a born-again Christian and I love the Harry Potter books! They teach that good always triumphs over evil, friendship, loyalty, and that the evil are punished. Harry and his friends are taught "good magic" and that dark magic is not to be experimented with. We know that "good magic" does not exist in the real world, but it is showing that the occult is nothing to mess with. Harry gets in trouble when he does bad things, which shows that no one is perfect.

The closest thing I've ever got to "witchcraft" is when I would play Harry Potter with my brothers (Basically all I did was get on an ordinary broom and pretend to play Quidditch). The age-old christian conversation of witchcraft is silly to me...I was taught that faith in oneself supercedes any influence. If the bible predicts, rejoyce for He is near. This "battle" seems like one corporation against another. I can maintain my faith in Yeshua and behold games and stories...because I'm certain (by prophecy) who is the Most Triumphant. Why is the 700 Club trying to dispute what is Written? Yeshua will seek the wise, collect them, and the hard-hearted will be troubled...or so I read...

That's a very plausible explanation, however, from someone who has seen fandom (which always had a penchant for sexual explicitness) during its early days before the internet exploded until today. First, you had adults writing less explicit/more tasteful porn and second, the kids, while still having access to the "smut", traditionally adhered to writing "gen" or fade to black non explicit fics.
The HP fandom is unique for this phenomenon of degrading their "romance" fics with explicit porn.

The Bible is literary classic. My personal favorite part is when the Iraelites slaughter a lamb and wipe the blood on their doors for passover, so the Azrael, the Angel of Death, skips over their house and slaughters only all the first born children of Egypt. I also love the part in Judges 3:22 where the King is so fat the hilt is enveloped in fat and this guy Ehud couldn't pull his sword out, the king's intestines fall out and the king bleeds to death.

At 5:50 she says that "witchcraft is being normalized for the first time in the history of the world." First of all, Christianity is a new religion. In fact, a mirror of 15 earlier ones of the exact same theme. The word "witchcraft" doesn't really mean anything specific. Being an English word, it probably should refer to ancient European magical traditions which were around tens of thousands of years before Christianity.

Harry potter's sacrificial love in Deathly Hallows is a very very strong indication that she is. In fact, love is a very strong theme throughout the series. Lily's love is a protection to Harry from voldemort. Voldemort can't posses Harry because of his love for his godfather. It's Christs love. I honestly don't get why people thrive off of this fear mongering. All it does is stunt people's growth and potential passion for something inspiring. Harry potter has made me a better christian.

  • @pepehorhae

the funny thing is this is constitutionally protected. religion or not, it is still speech and if people engage in witchcraft because of it, then it is technically okay as the constitution protects freedom of belief, speech and expression which is absolute. the only drawback is that the believers of these ideas or whatsoever must not commit a crime or do anything unlawful in the name of that belief. if a person wants to believe in the devil it is okay so long as they do not sacrifice lives in the altar for otherwise that would be murder or manslaughter. if a person wants to make "potions" then it is okay, so long as it is not unlawful in character like poison nor is it to be used unlawfully.
this matter is already legally answered and i don't get the need for asking trivial crap about this. if morality is the one talking then bad news for you, morality is a subjective thing and cannot be enforced unless the laws (which are objective and for everyone) allows it. if people can hate on harry potter and witchcraft or people practicing the craft, that's okay. but if people love harry potter and see it harmless and they want to pursue that path, it is also okay. this is the consquence of free belief and no one has that authority to shove down other people's throats their beliefs against others for that would result to tyranny and oppression, something a civilized society isn't supposed to tolerate.

Biblical Principles? God killed every man woman and child on the earth once. In egypt he killed every first born child. He demanded abraham sacrifice his child. He played favorites with caine and able. He let's rapist and killers into heaven while Doctors and kind people go to hell. He completely devastated Job's life by taking his children and wealth away from him, on a DARE from the devil... Yes Biblical principals, we need more of those...

what tripped me out is when i found out that their books were ALL shipped to the book stores upside down as some sort of ritualistic power up.
I'am afraid i have to agree with this lady. I mean, if you even bother to look around you, youll see how our society is breaking apart and people as a whole are ignorant to the powers of evil.

And let us not forget George Orwell's "1984," "Animal Farm" and "Homage to Catalonia." Oh, and there is Ray Bradbury's other masterpiece, "The Martian Chronicles." Next time anyone, on either the the far-right or the far-left, or belonging to the same cult as cretinous Caryl, or adhering to the religion of peace and love, fundamentalist Islam, wants to have a book burning ...

THE BIBLE: Lo, a day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst. And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle: the city shall be taken, houses plundered, women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city. I don't really think of the Westboros as a target, I think of them as a threat to America. And while they are an excellent example of Christian fundamentalism, you don't seem like that kind of person and should therefore not be compared to them.

They actually think that waving your hand makes magic happen? I'm Catholic and I love those books they got me to read and now I'm reading Shakespeare, Nobel prize winning books classic novels classic poetry. I started with Harry Potter and I am now going into Environmental Science. Then these 'dark undertones' this was done with the first book the last book I think has great messages. These two women obviously only ever see the glass as half empty not half full.

My apologies for all the posts, but wanted to add even Rowling herself was quoted as being "alarmed" by the sexual explicitness (again, child porn) displayed by the majority of fics - not a small minority of oddballs, but the majority of children writing. I believe WB even had to file a court order for certain writers to stop using underage characters in explicit porn. That is unprecedented, but children growing up on depravity know nothing else.

None of the WTC buildings were made of steel reinforce concrete. The fireproofing was blown off by the impact of the planes. You can cut steel with water if it's moving fast enough. The material the plane was made out of was less important than it's speed and mass. I couldn't respond on the other video because one of your fellow freedom warriors blocked me.

I don't know too much about the Cultural Revolution, although I lived through the last part of it & we read things in the paper. I know Christians were not the only ones targeted, but they were almost eradicated. I think that seeing the evils of the CR, compared to the righteous, merciful, life-giving faith in Christ, may be why so many have believed in Jesus today.

So basically anything thats animated is bad.
Dragon ball z teaches me that if i train hard i can fly and make energy from my hand.
Naruto - i can shoot lighting out of my hand and be engulfed in black flames and live
Bleach - i can be cut in the heart with a sword and be ok
Spongebob - I can live underwater if i have a pickle jar on my head
Tom + jerry - i can be cut in half by a meat clever and be ok
    there are tons more
I mean honestly this is absolutely ridiculous. FICTION IS FICTION

Ok 1.) No, harry potter is NOT an accurate portrayal of witchcraft at all. I don't know how many kids I've had to set straight on this one. 2.) schools of witchcraft have been around LONG before harry potter. 3.) J.K Rowling is Christian and if she did do any research she did a pretty poor job. 4.) Any Christian can do magic too, every one is capable of learning with the right teacher. However, the bible is based on pagan beliefs. Check out Jesus and Krishna.

"...the violent tones in here, there's evil, there's death, there's lack of respect for human life, and there's the occult..." I wonder if she also has a problem with the bible since these themes are also found in there? The best protection for a child is a good foundation... not a boycott of everything that a parent considers "evil".

We don't disbelieve because we're afraid of the consequences of it being true - what you want to believe has nothing to do with reality. We disbelieve because there's no reason to believe it's true.

It does teach children an eschewed morality. Take into account that the HP books were the first to attract prepubescent and young teens into writing child porn in the fanfiction. It's such an unheard of phenomenon for 13yr olds to be writing NC-17 fics that paired child characters, and that depravity does come from somewhere. I'm in other "fandoms" myself and the kids writing for HP turn my stomach with their fics centering on underage sex & bestiality.
Are the Bible study kids doing that? No.

@Brucev7 I know this is late but just so you know I was not talking about witchcraft and immorality, I was talking specifically what was said at 3:02. The violence, dark undertones, and lack of respect for human life which are in the bible... even sex is in it. That view point is contradicting and it makes me wonder why they would even mention it when they allow their kids to read the bible which has the same content.

Harry Potter doesn't teach witchcraft. 2 reasons:
    1. Witchcraft doesn't exist.
    2. If you pay enough attention, Harry Potter is closely tied to Christian/Catholic beliefs. Like the Death Eaters used to be called the Knights of Walpurgis. There are 3 of them. And in each of their swords, are the nails on the cross Jesus died on

Ok, had to add something else. At 7:12 the woman talks about how Harry cheats, lies and steals and says children are learning to do the same things just because Harry does them. So this woman and every child in the world are perfect and no Christian lies apparently. Of course Harry lies, we ALL do. Harry has flaws and thats what makes his character so appealing. No person or child is perfect but apparently this woman thinks are children are going to the rocks because Harry is imperfect, like us.
