Grant Shapps Uses French Worker Protections As Part Of General Election Project Fear!

- The Defence Secretary, Grant Shapps, is trying to scare people from voting Labour instead of convince people to back his party. In this interview with Kay Burley of Sky News, he claimed that Keir Starmer would release asylum seekers, raise people's taxes and introduce French employment laws?

Grant Shapps is a perfect reason to vote Labour.
And Starmer, Reeves, Rayner and Streeting, four good reasons not to vote Labour. There are many more, I'll be voting SNP.

I am French and can tell you that Workers are better protected in France, every Worker.
A significant proportion of the British people voted, time and again, to give away their employment rights over the course of four decades. Treated like s**t and zero rights. You can forget legal action because the present govt cuts access to legal aid in most areas, only the rich have access to the law in the UK.
easy, the rich Brits want slaves and the Tories try to deliver it to them!
Certainly better than here in the US!
Tories couldn’t care less about ordinary workers.
France is a civilisized country living in 21. century but the UK tries to go back to the stone ages with the most primitive capitalism the Tories and Reform UK is preaching!😂
19th Century MP JR-Moggy: "What's wrong with our Victorian chimney climbing boys?🧐"
eugenics era thinking
@@luminousfractal420Oh, please. The Tories literally culled the elderly, during the pandemic. But jeez, I am not unaware of their grieving relatives. Young people know that a great deal of old people were once the feistiest of Union members and kind souls who lent a cup of sugar to their neighbours. But most were uneducated empire dreaming fascists. So I don't know what else to say. Tory stupidity killing their own voter base.. but even now, it was still mass slaughter, regardless of their voting intentions. 😢
Everyone is nostalgic about the 19th century. But I don't want to live there.
Good riddance ..he closed our hospital and turned it in to a clinic ...then a private hospital was built up the road ...what a Jeremy Hunt .
Jeremy hunts are useful bearing in mind I am using rhyming slang ! 😂😂
Yet he fought for our local hospital but it’s on a private contract and if go in for NHS appointment they see private patients 1st be very glad when we can boot Grant Shapps out of Welwyn/Hatfield council 🤞
Anyone still buying what the Tories are selling give your head a wobble !!
And never believe a word Shapps has to say.He doesn’t know who he is most of the time!🤓😎🥸🤡
@@DerekHarrison-ue9vv Michael Green, Sebastian Fox, Corinne Stockheath:😮😲😯
Stick to Tories they never put taxes up.😂
72 seats too many.
From an 80 seat majority to this....?
Awesome..!!
No, let them keep 1 or 2 so they are forced to sit in Parliament and witness the adults at work.
Don't worry. A week before polling day, it'll be down to 10. That's been the trajectory since they started "Campaigning" 😂
France has better workers' rights, that's the thing he's scared of, workers actually living a decent life, earning a decent wage, and being productive and happy, versus 14 years of the tories trying to push us backwards to an 18th century factory worker versus factory owner system where there's no rights, no decent wage, no decent life, that's the tory dream, but it's not ours...
An excellent comment, and so very true!
👏🏼👏🏼
France is on the verge of civil war.
When the Tories tell you they are building houses they really want to build workhouses.Dont be fooled.
72 seats too many!!
Well said . We must send these oligarchs a message .they see as not a citizens, but as live stock to be exploited
It will be below 72 soon. Every time sunak opens his mouth, it gets worse. Plus the tories are too busy fighting and cowering in the corner about Farage to do anything but make their chances worse.
*Schnapps comes across as an arrogant, pseudo aristocratic snob.*
That would make me want to vote Labour even more
His comments at the start of the interview are EXACTLY why they need to voted out and sent to the dustbin of history
In 1979 the tories ran a campaign of "Labour isn't Working" with a picture of a very long queue of workers. The day James Callaghan left office unemployment was at 5%, 4 years later it was at 12%.
Yeah. Something like 350,000 in '79, and when it started climbing into the *millions* ... surprise, surprise, they kept massaging the figures by changing the definition of 'being unemployed'.
Yeah, in '79 I think there was about 350,000 unemployed. As soon as Thatcher's lot got in and the numbers started climbing into the *millions* ...surprise, surprise - they started massaging the figures by repeatedly changing the definition of 'being unemployed'.

This person was in charge of motorways and his decisions were the reason innocent lives were lost. , he should have been charged with Manslaughter , he is unworthy of trust !
If he's really looking to scare people just ask 'do you really want 5 more years of us ?' 😱😱😱
As if Grant Shapps has been knocking on doors 🤣🤣🤣
I was sceptical with that reference too.
Great Comeback Kay Burley 👍 ❤
The stare… it’s a killer 😅
I spat my Irn Bru out when she said that!!
Its been years in the waiting.
Would it not be great, if you could have the same workers protection as the EU French?
And pension.
And retirement age
Damn right. Then, add food and quality of life...!
...and a baguette. (pls)
And a nice glass of ricard with ice.😊
They keep mentioning Tax. I believe most people are ok with tax, providing it is spent well and NOT handed to their mates!
If only we could have the same rights as the French??? We could dream
Having a flag behind you talking to a domestic audience on a TV show is just so cringe 🤢
Trumpist influences.
Agree - trying to emulate the right wing US style of politics?
Very right-wing America. Wave that f'in flag around while undermining the constitution.
What a tool
Tools have a use ....
They work less, get more done and live happier
Who can possibly vote for these people. 72 seats is still too many. This party is outdated and needs to be rid forever
The tories had a large majority and here we are today, record tax burden, record debt, record corruption.
Don't hand the arsonists back their matches 👍
Ask the French if they want UK employment laws.....
We have in the UK some of the worst employment laws in Europe.
They also still have their freedom of movement, their opportunities are far greater than ours for finding work.
And that's before letting them loose with dropping ECHR.....
How horrible! Job security! Fair wages! Decent levels of worker's rights! How could we live with ourselves if we let that happen!
Down with that sort of thing!
@@user-ol6rd7pl5t You see, in the UK today; an affordable roof over your head, a functioning health system, a job that at least gives you a bit of cash at the end of month to have some diversion, a tiny bit of quality of life so you aren't driven half mad by the stress of paying bills etc... rivers and beaches that won't make you seriously ill if you go in them are ''aspirational'' now. ''Of course dear boy, we'd ALL like that but, you see, how WOULD the rich get richer...?!
Knocking on doors, my a**e! Can you imagine Shapps going round 'knocking on doors'? He's going to lose Welwyn/Hatfield BIG time.
Why do you think he's against French style worker protections? By listing the workers rights French law insists upon, you just answered your own question Max!
Vote them out
Easy enough to lower unemployment when you pretend somebody on 1 hour a week is fully employed.
'Unemployment Management Schemes' are very good at hiding the true figures on unemployment...YTS (exploited youth) back in the Thatcher days, then we had 'Community Programme', lol......Cons also hide it via parking people on benefits and then blaming such on New Labour...Cons like people on the 'sick' when it suits them and not so when it suits them...
The torys are pleading for the public to save there jobs !!!!
So if that's goin to happen then he is clearly telling us to vote labour 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What were the immigration figures in 2010 and whst are they now?
All these useless, hopeless tories have left is to try and woo the utterly dense.
Looks like Reform has beaten them to it.
God forbid worker's should have rights. Can't have Johnny foreigner giving ideas to the British workforce. This is England, sir ! A worker knows his place !
Now be off with you & no more nonsense about rights !
Please Sir, may I go to the toilet?
Nono, let him talk! Maybe he'll
get the seats to single digits!
He looks tired and dejected.
All those years telling blatant lies have worn him out.
I know, it cheered me up no end.
"Vote for us because the big bad Labour are going to take away your worker's rights" says the party who even dare to flirt with leaving the ECHR.
Taking your rights away by introducing workers’ rights no less
France is also benefiting from Brexit as international investors boycott the UK and invest directly in the EU. City of London firms are moving to Paris and British companies are opening headquarters in EU countries like France.
"Rounded up to be deported." I wonder if this has been heard before?
"who's gonna be left?"
When the UK is lucky, no Tories.
And in France the Employer pay half of your train pass, and pay a part of your lunch with "Ticket Restaurant". So much bad things. 🤣
How many seats does he hold in his many identities?
Release asylum seekers??
Pray explain!
Are they incarcerated?
Good afternoon Max and all here. Anyway he shouldn't be unhappy because now he has knowledge of almost all ministerial posts. But did not help him
They are so desperate...
The stench is strong in this one 😂😂what doors are these people knocking on must be family and friends
The Conservatives are screwed!
Stating the obvious.
One lot of voters (Labour, Libs, snp) - "this is complete crap"
The other voters (reform)- "they won't deliver"
I doubt that he has even knocked on his own door!
This is going to be the longest 2.5 weeks ever.
I don't think their litany of lies will fool as many as they think. Most sensible people know their entire Election plan is to try and frighten people into believing them. Having lived in France for ten years, I can only say that most workers in Britain would welcome such a change.
Saying you are undecided is a polite way of saying go away, Shapps.
Don't forget he also gets paid as Corinne Stockheath!
And Micheal Green, don’t forget Sebastian Fox.
Rights for workers, we can't be having any of that sort of thing, next they'll be wanting holidays, sick pay & time off to spend with their new born children, best to nip that in the bid.
The rest of that interview is brilliant. She annihilates him after each answer with a couple words. It's worth checking out.
Put it this way, if I had the chance to move to France,.....I'd be eating my croissants and drinking fine coffee ☕️ 🥐 from gay Paris as I type 😂
Get them out NOW!
He is MP near me , not mine thank goodness, last election massive hoardings with ‘vote Shapps’ were displayed and I had to see them driving to work daily , I hope he is out this time
It seems British workers hate working, maybe they need French employment laws? Bobby Duffy, director of the Policy Institute at King’s College London: "Of 24 nations included in a study, people in the UK emerge as the least likely to say work is important in their life. Around one in four of those surveyed in the U.K. said work is very or rather important to them. That’s a much lower proportion than in the U.S. and France, where 80% and 94% said the same, respectively. "
I wonder why? Could the problem be British management?
Pensioners get paid more in france and fo not get taxed on their pensions unlike here
Oh no poor people will spend money ... keeping shops open and paying vat . Instead of food bank use .
What a clown!
"Labour may introduce French style Employment laws where workers have rights and protections enshrined in the law itself, and you don't want THAT do you!? It's WOKE!!"
Does anyone believe that these MPs actually go knocking on doors. Be risking a fat lip in many cases
The ONS estimates that French productivity is between 9 and 28% higher than the UK, with a central figure of 18%. Shouldn't we copy French practice?
This would mean having a far fairer system where the fruits of economic growth are more evenly distributed. This is absolutely antithetical to the 'modern' extremist Tory party. The fate of P&O workers in 2022 is a perfect example of the sort of brutality and precariousness of employment that the Tory party salivates over.
Instead of worrying about French laws, Schnapps should look to land banking by the rich and building on green belt sites in his own district. If he did he might have a secure seat, but as he didn't..... 😂
The tories don't like workers having any rights ,goes against their winners and losers twisted ideology
We all trust Mr One A-Level Green………NOT! Bye Bye 4th July, and by the way little man Green,it’s SIR Keir to you.
Who going to tell a politician at the front door that they’re not going to vote for them other than people of no consequence.
As if he knocks on any doors. Maybe, if there is a media crew about…
Remember photo ID for July 4th. Find out what forms of ID are acceptable on the electoral commission website. Turn out to vote. Don't assume the tories will lose
Shaps as snapped , his nerve as gone 😂. Zero seats ..
Nobody has taken workers rights away more than the Tories, starting with Thatcher who attacked the NUM knowing it was the strongest union
Shapps is fooling no one! Time for the electorate to vote them out. Project fear doesn't work. 14 years of failure is there to be seen - Shapps should explain why we should vote for the tories and not for a change.
One of the positives from this election is seeing low quality politicians like Shapps, Mogg etc. losing their seats. Unfortunately this still leaves the likes of Braverman, Jenrick and Truss in Parliament resulting in certain swing to a more extreme Right hopeful leading to oblivion.
Who in their right mind would vote for Truss (who never did anything for their district) or Braverman (who wanted to be known as even more evil Patel and was fired twice from the job)?
Projection = confession.
Thanks to people like him we could end up with what’s effectively a one-party state, not because Labour enforce that but because there’s no effective, electable opposition party. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the Tories’ lasting legacy was indefinite Labour rule.
It would be justice, not irony!
"unemployment will go up, so peoples jobs will be at risked" nice
14 years of tories and their BS..
Folks have had enough!
Great vid
Good for Kay Burley
The P&O fiasco came instantly to my mind the moment he made references to comparing French and UK employment laws; so how is it that a politician would forget or dismiss this when make an argument to promoter better UK employment law?
That awful place called France, where workers get some of the best protections in the world while being around 20% more productive than their British counterparts. Must be awful.
You see, in the UK today; an affordable roof over your head, a functioning health system, a job that at least gives you a bit of cash at the end of month to have some diversion, a tiny bit of quality of life so you aren't driven half mad by the stress of paying bills etc... rivers and beaches that won't make you seriously ill if you go in them are all ''aspirational'' now. ''Of course dear boy, we'd ALL like that but, you see, how WOULD the rich get richer...?!
French style workers rights, yes please.
And the quality of life. And the FANTASTIC cuisine. And the countryside and climate. Yes yes YES.....!!
max they been in power for 14 years is this best they can come with . They should be call the joke party from now on
As a famous Irish comedian would have said, "it's the way you tell 'em" 😂
Anything European is bad! Next he'll be saying, "Well you wouldn't want to be as happy as all those Norwegians, would you?!"
People I speak to knocking on doors? Depends whose door you knock on.
Besides, we British do have a tendency to be too polite at times.
Always remember. When hunt says we have the most flexible workers in Europe he means we are lower paid and easier to exploit and fire
Shapes wants Dickensian worker’s conditions, we in the EU have decent human standards
This blokes been pissing down our backs and tells us its rain
Shapps is the eptiome of what us Londoners would say in polite company an "Utter French Polisher"
oh no. French style labour laws. how awful. someone save us. :3
Thank you Max ❤
Hi Max Good Morning Everyone!❤
This coming from the party that introduced zero hour contracts
Grant Shapes appearing in another party political broadcast on behalf of the Labour Party.
Grant Shapps talking to Kay Burley ... in any sane country conversations of this quality can only be heard in Kindergarten, or earlier.
Thanks
Good evening Deboorka, thanks so much for your kind support
Good example with the British P & O staff who were made redundant/sacked under Grant Shapps who was Transport Minister and lets not forget the train strikes that started under the hopeless Shapps and are still going on. You have one of those desperate cabinet minister who is very likely to lose his seat scaremongering when they have failed british workers.
