  • Hi everyone in today's video I will show you how to fit OEM Triumph Heated Grips for Triumph Street Triple 765 RS:
    The whole fitting process is easy enough, but you will have to download the fitting instruction and torque specification from Triumph website because there are no printed manuals included in the parts.

    Very interesting. I also thought the dealer had to do something on the computer after the installation... How do the handles compare to the previous ones? Are the handles thicker?

      No, there is no need to activate them with a computer, simple plug and play.
      The thickness, shape and size are exactly the same, don't see or feel any difference between heated or non heated grips.
      And now I can really enjoy riding when outside it's a bit colder 😉👌

    Great video, thank you. That switched live that you used under the front of the tank, could that be used to power a Garmin, i am installing? Or do you know of another switched live sitting somewhere else? Thanks

      Probably you can take a live from that plug under the tank, but this plug is also connected with the bike ECU, the signal is sent to the dash and ECU when heated grips are connected and in what level they are, and the heated grip indicator is displayed on the dash.
      But why do you want to complicate your life, and why you don't want to take the power from a USB socket under the seat? Long enough USB A cable( or any USB A cable that you can easily modify), go true under the seat and tank around the frame, and you will come up with it where the all electrical loom is around the central handlebar.
      You can also take a straight connection from the battery, to power up any device, but you have to add protection fuse and relay to the new wire loom. Hope this will help.

      @@darekz9777 Thanks for the reply. I guess i was thinking that the plug for the grips has three terminals, live (switched), negative, and control (to notify the ecu of which setting the grips are on), done presumably by way of resistance from the heating coils. But now you have mentioned the 2amp 5v USB supply I am wondering whether the in-line converter (12v-5v) on the garmin lead can be removed and then plugged into the USB, somehow. I think i will just leave the converter on the garmin lead and tap into the live of the USB feed. Then at least it is switched.

      This probably will be the easiest and cleanest way to power up your Garmin.
      Just take the power from the USB socket under the seat, buy some small voltage converter 12v to 5v, and then from that converter power up your Garmin. There is enough room under the rear set that you can easily hide all the wires and voltage converter, and job done 👍

    Thanks - great video. Were these heated grips specifically for the Street Triple. I am wondering could I fit these to my 2016 Triumph Thruxton R. They look identical to the heated grips that were on my T120 so I suspect they are a multi triumph bike part?

    • @darekz9777

      Thank you. Yes they're genuine Triumph heated grips. You will have to go to the Triumph dealer and they will sell you the correct one for your bike and model. Tell them that you are looking only for the part as heated grips without installation.

    great video. love the bike. are these grips plug and play? no dealers activtion needed? thanks

    • @darekz9777
      @darekz9777  5 місяців тому

      Thank you. These are OEM Triumph heated grips, no activations needed, just remove standard grips, feed the wire loom true handlebar, plug in heated grips to the connectors on the new wire loom, and on the other side connect the plug from the heated grips loom to the plug which is under the tank. And that's it, job done. 😉
