I was reviewing Triumph Technical bulletins and Tech Bulletin 181 notifies the dealers to check for burrs around the access holes/slots that are used to install the supplied wiring harness for each grip. So check those holes/slots, feel with your fingers, and use an appropriate file to smooth things up before installing the harness. 1drv.ms/i/s!AlfwhmS4ck64gqEmaLfaWK9_iw7VoQ?e=PuNvkh

I just installed my heated grips, and I have to say you are a life saver with this video.

Very helpful. Upon reassembly I found it easier to separate the adjuster assembly from the headlight and install it first and then the headlight. Makes it easier to guide the adjuster up into the frame opening while avoiding snagging the cables. Loosely tighten the adjuster bolts to hold the assembly in place, then install the headlight. Also I did not need to remove the wiring tray from the top of the headlight.

I cheated and had the dealer install the grips and TPMS on my RR. I wasn't sure if it was plug in and the dash recognizes it, or like some of my bikes, you can install the factory hardware, but the dealer still needs to activate it.

Thanks for the video. Bought a used '22 and it doesn't have heated grips. I like to ride in chilly weather(commute) and heated grips are a must.
Since you disconnected the battery, there was no issue with any faults, service messages after reconnecting? Just trying to avoid a dealership visit to clear out faults, etc...

Yes. You initially get an error when turning the bike on, which is easily cleared by updating the time/date in the menus.

BTW, it's annoying to have to visit the dealership, to clear errors or the Service indicator. I'm finding it's worth the investment to get the TuneECU app, particularly if you do your own oil changes. The website covers what you need, but basically the app, an Android device, and an ODB2 connector. I picked up a cheap android device on Amazon and the ODBLInk LX bluetooth module. Probably pays for itself by avoiding 1 or 2 trips to the dealership. tuneecu.net/

@@motohours Just got my grip heaters installed. Thanks for the quick replies to my previous comment. I did it slightly different but the tip about sliding the grip heaters all the way on and then pulling the harness through was a life saver. I left the tray with the ambient air temp sensor hanging while performing the work. I also didn't disconnect the battery due to the only component I unplugged was the headlight. No faults. The bike had no idea the headlight was unplugged and everything works normally. I will be picking up TuneECU at some point just for the fault checking and service reset. Thanks again!
