  • I sang Gia'l Sole dal Gange by Alessandro Scarlotti at a (very) small talent show in the Adirondacks in up state New York. I am an amateur member of a church choir and SATB quartet.

Amazing, just great. The fact that you're Italian-American (?) just makes it even better, connecting with a heritage with the help of the most powerful art form we have, music!

PaoloFrancesco99 of course, this was not an ironic comment, although I usually do that. It’s nicely done I think. I’ve been taking voice lessons for just a year now, but I appreciate this recording. Maybe just try to hide your english accent more, it’s a general issue for native english speakers I assume. Do you stil sing somewhere?

@@Legolasicek I'm just an amateur and have not been singing much lately. The sad thing is that I speak a little Italian but you still hear my accent. I'll keep working on it!
Good luck with your singing. I'm not sure of the style you are developing (classical, pop, etc.), but feel free to listen to my other recordings of ariette like this one as well as a few songs with an SATB quartet.
Hearing professionals is great but I sometimes find that I learn more what not to do by listening to amateurs. I'm sure you already know that singing is really just like training for sport. You will continue to improve as your strength and technique become refined.
