Già il sole dal Gange più chiaro sfavilla e terge ogni stilla dell’alba che piange. Col raggio dorato ingemma ogni stelo e gli astri del cielo dipinge nel prato.
It sounds like Carreras is a low tenor but not really as low as Placido Domingo. Domingo sang in high placement but it is a low tenor while I guess Carreras is a high tenor that sings in a low placement.
I'm sorry but I find this entire concert so bland... from Monserrat's uninspired rendition of "Agitata da due venti" to Carreras's extremely lyrical approach to this song... this really was a time of different aesthetic choices, but they don't seem to reflect at all the character and the mood of the songs themselves... they just sing in the way they want to just because.
Crowd clapping on 3/4 is everything
My best Gia il Sole dal Gange !
Wow so beautiful
Excelente, gracias por compartir este vídeo. Grandioso José Carreras.

A bit overdone
what is overdone?
Yeah probably, still sounds gorgeous though
Bland :(
Sorry to say it but Pavarotti did it way better
Gosh, Carreras sounded quite good as well
Carreras makes his performance about the music, not about his voice.
