- I picked up both of these 0 F (-18 C) synthetic sleeping bags on sale to try them out and keep one, so I thought I would share some observations and compare them. These are both good synthetic bags from reputable brands in the 4 lb range.

Thanks, Mike. I think both are very good values when on sale, and with reasonable weight too. If I didn't have the preference about wanting the head and neck area to be so snug as a cold sleeper, I probably would have opted for the Marmot because it is more versatile with the second side zip. When in your entry process do you cinch down the neck and head, given that the pulls are on the outside? I found that difficult in either bag after zipping. All my older bags had the pulls easily reachable from inside.

Hello, question: Is this sleeping bag "Marmot Trestles Elite ECO 0 Sleeping Bags" ? Can you tell me pack size? Thanks.
Hi, the one I reviewed was not the ECO type, but it seems to be a similar size. Anyway, REI indicates that the stuff sack size for the ECO 0C is 9.5 x 21 inches (=24 x 53 cm). I think the length can be shortened by using the compression straps. See this link, which also shows a picture of the stuff sack sitting next to a Nalgene bottle.
