All My Heart This Night Rejoices - Gerhardt

Performed by small choral ensemble, Sacrum Cantus, during a rehearsal.
Written in 1653 by Paul Gerhardt (1607-1676) who was minister at St. Nicholas Church in Berlin. Johann Georg Ebeling (1637-1676) was born in Germany and in 1662 became the cantor at the church, writing the music in 1666. The German words were translated into English in 1858 by Catherine Winkworth (1827-1878).
