Hello #PDArmy! After a bit of back and forth with the Ather team we've got some clarity on the '10 kilometres of range at a 100kmph on a full charge' statement we made - it's incorrect. The 450 Apex can SUSTAIN 100kmph for less than 10km, after which the motor will gradually start to de-rate (due to motor temperatures, fairly normal) and bring the top speed down. So fret not, full whack on Warp+ will last you much longer than a 10km stint.
There has been a very weird change in me. Back in the past I was all about motorcycles, I used to own a Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 and a KTM RC 390. After moving abroad, I had to sell the two motorcycles as there wasn't anyone in my family who could keep maintaining them and I thought it was better to sell them to other folks who might enjoy riding one instead of having them gather dust and rust in the garage. Now for some reason, I seem to be more interested in electric scooters and fantasize about buying one than I seem to be in owning a motorcycle. 😂😂

It will mostly be used for city rides, so top speed and acceleration really don't matter. This thing will run out of juice by the time you get out of city traffic to experience its performance.
Hi everyone, apart from this review by our expert, I wanted to add a review , especially I am driving one of the latest Ather450Apex scooter . Below is my REALITY FEEDBACK after 1000+ kms within 1 month.
IN Sport mode - (max speed in this mode is around 90 + kmph) 0.5675 kms per percent / 1.7619 percent charge per km = 45 km range for 80% charge (condition: highway ride at 70 to 80 kmph) (charging time from 0 to 80 % = 140 mins - using ather grid fast charger)
Ride Mode - (max speed in this mode is 65 kmph) 0.8863 kms per percent / 1.1282 percent charge per km = 70 km range for 80% charge (condition: highway ride at 60 kmph) (charging time from 0 to 80 % = 120 mins minimum - using ather grid fast charger i.e 30 mins per 20 % charge )
I will put the above notes in an understandable manner : after riding constantly in sport mode for 20 mins at 80kmph (which is faster than most scooter and a enjoyable speed) the scooter speed does reduce to 65 to 70 kmph due to thermal issues . But this is not really a big thing for someone who rides in locals. It will be an issue for someone who is constantly riding more than 25 to 30 km distance in one go. Overall 70 kms range in Ride Mode minimum and 45 kms range in sport mode minimum . If you ride in 40 to 50 kmph then you will get like 5 to 10 kms extra that's the maximum. This is the truth.
As for the fun aspect it is very very quick , as I said earlier the speed will drop if you drive at 80+ to about below 65 after 20 mins of sport or warp mode. That you all have to remember. Other things i want to add is that the scooter will keep on going faster right from the go 0 to 80 very quick and above that to a 100 just a little slow not as slow as a petrol powered scooter. About charging : there are two levels of charging : from 0 to 80% it will take 3.45 hours and from 80 to 100 percent another 2 hours total of 5.45 hours as the company claims , IN Public charging it will take 30 mins per 20% charge approximately , so for 0-80% in public charger you will have to wait for a total of 120 min s minimum , otherwise if you are charging at home it won't be a issue as you can take rest and take the vehicle outside after a Slow 100% charging, So you have to wait around 120 to 160 mins for charging from completely empty 0% to 80 % in a public charger for those who are going far distances this will be a concern , i have travelled between Chennai and Puducherry which is a total of approx 140 + 140 kms , So in reality when you drive 40 kms in RIDE mode (which is the mode you have to go in Long DISTANCE) you will lose 40 to 50% charge , hence i mentioned already you will have to wait for around 80 mins for this charge to come for example from 30 to 80%, so you ride for 40 mins and wait for 80 mins so for every 40kms distance you will spend 120 mins in total , imagine for 140kms how much i would have spend , So up and down i spent a total of 15 hours of travel instead of 7 hours of travel in a petrol scooter. this is the difference Between Electric and Petrol and electric scooter in Range Wise review of mine.
For those who are saying its overpriced. Well don't comment if you think that cause if you want an ather then just buy a 450s and want more range just buy ola s1 pro gen2. Ather doesn't care if it sells or not they celebrated their anniversary and gave us a special scooter.
Looks a bit gaudy and gimmicky with the colour scheme and the translucent back and all that. Like a gaming computer that has all kinds of colours popping up beneath the keyboard, knowing fully well that the specs are maxed out and it will do the job great. I get the feeling this is a really fun product, but for those who want fun, blasting at speeds and loving all the cool magic twist and what not. I would not worry about the price if it didn't look silly. The 450x does almost everything this does, and stays dignified. This one is kind of like the feeling I got when Porsche started making SUVs - just felt gaudy for a strikingly superb sports car maker.
I believe there is an error. How will a 7 kW motor empty a 3,700 kwh battery in just 6 minutes. At full theoretical capacity of motor it will take at least 30 minutes to drain the battery from 100 to 0.
Regarding design: This is the problem with our consumers. They can't appreciate a good/minimalist design when they have it. They keep clamoring for a facelift and manufacturers are forced to come up with a overdone design which looks ugly by the 3rd iteration. Then people again request them to bring back the classic design. People will only buy electric vehicles only when, - For 2 wheelers, 300-350 KM range on full charge, wherein the vehicle is fully charged within 40-45 mins and 15mins of charge gives you roughly 100kms. Priced roughly 1.3-1.5 OTR Pan India - For 4 wheelers, 450-500 KM range on full charge, wherein the vehicle is fully charged within 40 - 45 mins again and 15 mins of charge gives you roughly 175-180 kms. Priced roughly 8-10 lakhs OTR Pan India.
This is absolutely useless in my opinion. There is absolutely zero value for money in this model as it is the 450x was pricey but was to some extent justifiable but this is absolutely not. The magic twist if I am not wrong is a purely software update I don't think it needs any additional hardware except the twisting grip input this could have been a simple upgrade to the 450x. They should have not stretched this platform any further.
Its not meant for the masses anyway, The S takes care of that. And yeah, we agree about the stretching of the platform. Thankfully, this was the last hurrah

@@powerdriftofficial to be fair a "limited edition" wrt to digital stuff is an oxymoron. Some other manufacturer can make a similar product or better and this will be rendered useless cos it has no special character to it. But look at analog stuff, they're timeless if they're special. A small example is the RD350. Long gone from production yet is revered and sought after. There are faster, safer bikes than that but I has something that can't be replicated. Same with watches. Analog watches garner far more collector's attention than a modern "smart" watch will ever. I'll stick to my ICEs. Konsa nasha karke design kar rahe h yelog 😅😂
Mehenga toh hay
@@powerdriftofficial bhai mene bola sb design same h inke design pe kharch hi nhi kar rahe ye log kuch mehanga or sasta to bola hi nhi
Ganja.
I was never a fan of the scooty pep like design
haha, i like it! 😂
This is the last of the lot.
Need speed go for Yamaha aerox 155...not this...❤
yup but this offers a lot too!
Apples and oranges.
Kuch v bna k bech do log khrid hi lenge
Itna aasaan nai rahega ye
Hahahaha😂 we have simple one which goes 100km and price is 1.46lakh
Ather price is higher but range is very low.... nobody cares about colours and above all Peoples cares about performance bikes but who cares about performance scooters ? 🙄
sure, which is why this is not for the masses
With what we have experienced, the Ather range is not low in real life. Its pretty accurate in fact but this particular variant does not focus on that
costly shit
Sure thing
Expensive Too Much.
1.89 for an EV? what a sham. In fact, I just don't get the EV concept at all.
i actually think electric and scooters go hand in hand more than any other form of personal mobility
@@carswithkaran well for scooters they make sense but not at 1.89 lacs. That's absurd imo.
Pricing aside, I just can't stand the hassle of charging. The convenience of ICE is leaps and bounds ahead.
The price tag is expensive yes! Feels more like a limited edition this.
Heck my Honda Dio bought in 2002 is still butter smooth. 😀🤷🏽♂️ Serves my city needs more than adequately and I never have to worry about charging it or running out of charge any time.
What's with all the attention to EVs these days??
Why is no one talking about reality.?
People have to pay 60%of the EV's price after 3 years. Those Environmentalists must have a clear idea , where all these E -Waste is going to go, and the electricity they are using is coming from renewable resources..
Stop burning petrol 1st😂
@@bigapple5842 So petrol is the reason for climate change?. Only that much literate you are?
There are questions and unfortunately, we do not have all the answers.
Overprice. Within 90k people would have gone Bongkers.
90k is impossibruu
Too expensive..
pricey for sure
We agree
Ather is a joke🤣
Humour us too.
Just like your life. Nah your life is a better joke.
Over priced Shit scooter that no one will buy

People will but this is not for the masses.
