Great , i don't understand why lots of people are still buying ICE scooters , bikes I can understand, but scooters , you should research and buy electric
Points for Tarun - You got free advice from one of the industry's finest. You definitely need to make edu-adverts 20 seconds each for advanced "SUV style" features in two wheelers. At least 6 such ads explaining one feature in under 20 seconds. Think of how short Zoo-Zoo ads worked for Vodafone. 2 features that are relevant for youth. 2 features relevant for older women - fallsafe, manually limiting speed. 2 features for older men - bigger boot for stuff, charging woes in emergency situations.
30:00 - Miniatures, Merchandise, and Toys are a good option for brand building and additional revenue. Ather can license these products to quality vendors for manufacturing.
I started doing job around 9 years back. For 7 years i never bought a bike. But during COVID time, I realised that I needed a 2 wheeler. So i bought an electric scooty. I used it for almost an year. I took it on long rides. I had ridden it in city conditions. From my experience no1 - I learnt the reason why do people buy petrol vehicles. 😂 no2 - I'm not that poor.., that I cannot even manage to buy fuel on a monthly basis. 😅 After this enlightenment Now I bought a 400 cc bike.
Sir, I really like the Ather bike and enjoy the riding.. only thing I would suggest is to provide notifications of Dashboard OTA software updates via app for any new software updates. As I do not really like the hassle of softwares updates happens during the ride.. if there are notifications via the ather app about new software update available.. then a customer can perform the necessary steps of software update before start of the ride itself. Please look into this to improve the software to provide notifications. rest all things of this bike are fantastic..👍
8:04 In India, YObykes launched their electric two-wheelers in 2006. Taking about cars, Mahindra brought Reva as early as 2001 in India. Although Ather today is doing marvelous innovations, why are these guys more or less portraying Ather as the pioneer of EV in India?
existing Family EV scooters with usability wise (storage space, seating space, range, build), in my view River Indie, tvs iqube, Ather ritza are good. I own River Indie.. seating and storage space better than other models, it's my personal opinion. Every scooter has it's own pros and cos. Visit showroom irrespective of any scooter, check the product and take a test drive.. opt for the 1 which suits your requirement.
Is there any practical charging solution for those who do not have a covered parking space ? For example, in Mumbai we have at lease four months of heavy rains and in many housing societies two wheelers are parked in an open space. In that case what can help a person who is interested in buying an electric scooter ?
This is the kind of Automotive Journalism I wish the Indusstry to reach to, the depth of research, and range of topics not only from company perspective but at industry level is phenomenal, kudos Also Tarun Mehta is a visionary of this industry and made hands down made a best trusted brand in the industry
Even if electricity is made of burning fuel , its still very very helpful as atleast the smoke wont go inside your nose unlike petrol scooter which release black smoke that goes into nose while you are riding in traffic
Hi, I'm from North and I want to buy ather Rizta but I think I have to go for TVS only because the nearest Ather service center is approx 145kms away. 😅
Tarun sir answer on green energy is answer to Gagan concern which he raised in another video on EV that electricity used by coal as peoduct is not green by EV . And one lame excuse of minerals used in battery are more exploiting that areas .
I don't think that ather is 95000 .. I purchased on 31 march 24.. But its cost me down payment.. 24500....emi..4690 for 28 months . On bill its show 112046..... Sbsidy pending 14500...still
Near Non existent infrastructure for EVs and no ev brand considering tier-3 cities for service and reach but still positive attitude towards ending ice scooter dominance by 2030 😂....OG splendor and OG Activa wouldn't have been called OG if their target was only big cities.
Have used EV Moped for more than 2 years and for almost 22000 km, My observation: 1. EV two wheelers are definitely good. Product Differentiation based on Low and high power motor and High and low capacity battery would EV two wheeler offering more inclusive by covering all the use cases of an urban two wheeler moped. 2. EV Two wheeler aftermarket repairs and spare parts need to be encouraged as it'\s crazy costly to go with original parts. Like a simple Brake pad costs 700 Rs which is easily available at 350-400 Rs. Same thing for brake levers. In case EV, Considering complexity of Electronics involved, OEM must publish repair manuals. 3. EV Cars are for very small number of people who has monthly 2500+ km usage. Otherwise a good CNG car is more than enough, financially and environmentally.
True, the scooters is used for small hops within the city. Could be a series of small hops. And an e scooter with a true range of about 200kms will kill the ice engined scooters. It’s about time. But cars are a long way off.
Very good discussion. I think when we launch a new product..always it is expected atleast all good points available as minimum plus something extra new we get. so, for a scooter ,good seat comfort, ride quality, storage and mileage is a must and considered as a basic. on top of that if someone gives more features it can become successful..but at the same time if any of the minimum feature is missing then it becomes a deal breaker..
13:30 - the penetration of electric 2 wheeler is low because of two reasons: 1) Need for longer distances of commute, especially for migrant labourers. 2) Poor road infrastructure at local level.
@@aditya.k.kochhar no space for meaningful battery size on scooter level if it is hybrid. If you say that in future battery tech will advance, then it will do so for EV also, the bike getting 100km today will get 200km tomorrow, makes hybrid in scooter totally moot also the battery life on hybrid will be worse because of how frequently it is cycled in traffic (1 cycle = 100-0-100), avg ev scooter 1 cycle = 100km, you can drive 50000km+ on original battery before range starts reducing.
@@user-wj5lw1rn5p Spent up battery can be used as home electricity storage. Batteries that suffer electrical or any other damage, can be replaced at individual cell level. With minimal efforts, all battery cells are fully recyclable to be build into newer cells - this is much better than mining for new materials. Fossil fuel vehicles aren't going anywhere, but they aren't the future. When compact batteries can give you more mileage per tank and charge in about 15 minutes from 20% to 80% with 150-180 km of range in that 60% of range, you won't be riding a fuel scooter/motorcycle anymore. Scooter still give you about 200km of range with
I don't know. Yesterday, a EV battery caught fire and killed one person. EVs will be the future but it's not near. Until EVs can show a convincing value proposition and safety parameters over ICE, I'd say it's premature to predict the end of EVs is near
Team EV, Team ICE or both?

Once EVs truly become green and clean and infrastructure is sufficient, will think about EVs 😂

Time has come to improve EV charging infrastructure
Until and unless the EV companies comes out with a clear answer about the replacement cost of the battery the struggle of EVs will be long.
8:04 In India, YObykes launched their electric two-wheelers in 2006. Taking about cars, Mahindra brought Reva as early as 2001 in India. Although Ather today is doing marvelous innovations, why are these guys more or less portraying Ather as the pioneer of EV in India?
Because THE ev is different than ev.
existing Family EV scooters with usability wise (storage space, seating space, range, build), in my view River Indie, tvs iqube, Ather ritza are good.
But why live in Mumbai? You live only once, find a decent place to live.
This is the kind of Automotive Journalism I wish the Indusstry to reach to, the depth of research, and range of topics not only from company perspective but at industry level is phenomenal, kudos
Also Tarun Mehta is a visionary of this industry and made hands down made a best trusted brand in the industry
Team Both!
One simple question, why does Ather doesn't give the convenience of removable batteries like Vida?
because most people dont need it.
Patna is fastly adopting EV scooter. Ather should come up with Hub Motor Scooter for Rural area.
Tarun sir answer on green energy is answer to Gagan concern which he raised in another video on EV that electricity used by coal as peoduct is not green by EV .
And one lame excuse of minerals used in battery are more exploiting that areas .
One big reason why E scooters are not selling in the north is because of their purchasing cost.
Another reason is charging and security.
Just hyped
Have used EV Moped for more than 2 years and for almost 22000 km, My observation:
Considering the price difference of the vehicle, resale value, battery cost, definitely electric vehicle is expensive for normal usage.
Mera 450x
64000 k.m. me
3 bar battry ripair karni padi
Or maintenance patrol scooter se bahut hi he
Bahot mehga padtahe
Parts ke rate check Karo
Kahise verth he kya
Maintenance me
konsa parts kitneme pada
Or kitne k.m. pe dalna pada pura experience ho gaya
Jannahe to pura chittha duga
The main challenge on EVs right now is the charging time.
Kinda strong question for gagan.
Places like mumbai people can't charge vehicles at their apartment which leads to natural options towards ICE
33:00, iQube is already considered as the family scooter, also Ola.
13:30 - the penetration of electric 2 wheeler is low because of two reasons:
1) Need for longer distances of commute, especially for migrant labourers.
2) Poor road infrastructure at local level.
Solutions can be hybrid bikes that can be used on electric locally and on fuel for long distance ride.
@@aditya.k.kochhar no space for meaningful battery size on scooter level if it is hybrid. If you say that in future battery tech will advance, then it will do so for EV also, the bike getting 100km today will get 200km tomorrow, makes hybrid in scooter totally moot
also the battery life on hybrid will be worse because of how frequently it is cycled in traffic (1 cycle = 100-0-100), avg ev scooter 1 cycle = 100km, you can drive 50000km+ on original battery before range starts reducing.
Indeed Episode 👍
Best cartalaap episode yet. Also, harkipaudi haridwar me hai. Bacche bachhe ko pata hai.
When do we get the delivery of rizta
Any information regarding battery recycling?? And ideas around battery waste management???
Also will i be able to buy motorcycle in the next 5-8 years considering govt and the market would prove it to be a niche 😭
@@user-wj5lw1rn5p
Spent up battery can be used as home electricity storage.
Scooter still give you about 200km of range with
@@meetankush bhai tu 3 baje kya kar rha hai??
I think there are few startups working in this recycling area.
So pleasantly different from the CEO of the market-leader in the segment.
i guess you should also do a Bhavesh Agarwal's interview and see what's his take on EV!
I don't know. Yesterday, a EV battery caught fire and killed one person. EVs will be the future but it's not near. Until EVs can show a convincing value proposition and safety parameters over ICE, I'd say it's premature to predict the end of EVs is near
