  • After the initial speed test I take the accuracy pellets out to 60m (66y), this should give us a real good idea about optimal speed and accuracy.

    Very helpful, as always. It would be interesting to see your ammo comparisons expanded to include use of a more affordable air rifle with a very different barrel design. Specifically the Air Venturi Avenger as I believe it is among the most popular of the entry-priced options. The contrasts would tell us a lot about pellet choice beyond just the world of FX's. Thanks.

    Its about time that you guys gave us similar videos for .25 Calibre pellets & more importantly SLUGS of various weights.

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  2 роки тому

      Can't , in South Africa the .25 needs a license but the government doesn't know how to issue one. Stop laughing, it is the truth, the police can't approve the license as their system can't recognise it. So we are in limbo here. Illegal to shoot .25 but you can't license it either.

    Its very refreshing to see honest grouping. If you only watch sponsored shooting channels you can end up thinking you have a bad gun if you cant head-shoot a pidgen at 200mts every time.

      Very true indeed, I can't head shoot a pigeon at 200m, I don't have enogh battery life in the camera to eventually record the luck shot. lol.

    wow grt video as always.....the 15.89 are very good.....i also tried the Air arms 16 grainers, which is essentially the same pellet... the accuracy its giving at both low 765 and high 900 is brilliant. Do give them a try.

    Excellent video, I have mostly hatsan airguns and they love the less costly pellets like crossman domes and Air Arms. If I had FX airguns I would shoot JSB and h&n pellets.

      Air Arms and JSB are 99% the same - just the dies they use that differ.

    Straight to the point and very informative.
    I would like to see the Air Venturi Avenger tested. Especially in 177cal. I think it, or the Umarex Gauntlet would be great as a beginner field target rifle.
    Thanks brother.
    God bless you. 🎯

      I would rather use a 2nd hand AA S400 for Field Target, don't know the Air Venturi that well.

    I have terrific results at 44 yards with the 18 grain @ 1024 fps. That's low power on my Redwolf, I can't shoot them slower but they are my favorite. It's odd that there was a difference since the AA pellets are made by JSB. I, will be taking them out to 60 meters to see if I can match your results, aside from the speed differences. I also have some JSB 18's on their way so it will be very interesting to see if I have as much improvement as yourself.

      I was curious if you have taken the FX 15.9 to the limit. I'm in the process of drying mine now but I'm expecting on low they will be somewhere close to 1100fps. I really got them for my TX200 but why not ry.

      USA don't export directly to South Africa - to much of a hassle, we have a few importers but due to the cost of importing, taxes and still making a profit they are massively expensive. I do hope to get some eventually.

    hello sir. iam from indonesia. in .177 cal. how you clasified low power and high power in fps

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  3 роки тому +1

      Low power is the guns suited for HFT and Ft World (also UK market where you don't need a license), sub 12ft.lb. High power is anything above 12ft.lb.

    I’ve got the FA Maverick .22 on high power…. I love the look of the compact and it shoots JSB 15.89s are spot on but I’m going slugs, with a new heavy liner and power kit, 😬 fingers crossed 🤞🏻😬

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  2 роки тому +1

      The power kit makes a massive difference, just rememberthat slugs will never shoot as good as pellets on short distances (up to75m), slugs are build to shoot long distance and in bad wind conditions, because of their better BC they keep theit velovity and hitting power better at long range.
