Originally you couldn't, I believe that got changed at some point. I had the same reaction to learning the Beggar's Bazooka has reduced explosion radius

Let me tell you this is THE most fun weapon to use in mvm!
Once you start using this weapon, you wont go back to stock or sydney sleeper lol
Explosive headshot is just more broken than gas passer and with all the small robots being close to a giant fulling your focus meter this weapon literaly becomes a autosniper
Also, jarate is literaly free Focus meter boost lmao 😂
I recomend prioritizing reload speed over damage bonus upgrades with this weapon

That's not true because the most fun weapon to use in MvM is the Huntsman. This is the gun you use when you get matched up with 5 troglodytes who need you to carry them through the entire wave.

I believe it is to both make the gun feel more responive and to alert the enemy team that a sniper is there, you probably would have walked in there if you arent focusing on the killfeed (which you likely aren't) and die to the sniper.
