Thanks for sharing. You are absolutely right. We need more altruistic attitude on fishing spots. God has given to us this beautiful land for share with one another.
You know finally a local that shares his spots with us out of towner s thst o my come 2-3 times a year. It would be nice to take home a fish so my wife can hv fresh fish she loves trout and flounder. I keep 1 trout or 1 flounder no more I strictly catch and release. As well carry a net bag to pick up trash in water I come across while Wade fishing or on the beaches. Used to put trash in my waders but gotten outta hand with trash lately why cant folks keep their trash to themself’s. Another story Just want to thank you for sharing some Wade fishing spots, I’m wondering that place in Rockport that looks like packery channel it looked shallow enough I might try flounder gigging in there with the right tide I live to flounder gig. Just don’t know where to go that has good flounder. I sure I spend slot of time in dead waters, had few great spots before they filled in roll over pass. Fished goose island that’s all day deal, I’m dying to get a yak abs get over to the spillway outside of corpus spillway across from mud bridge. They say can walk but looks like private land and I don’t trespass I’m respectful of peoples property. I’m hoping for a few more spots I’m following you from now on, I’ve fished several spots you just showed but hopefully you’ll uncover a few more spots maybe I don’t know about that holds fish I only get down here only 2-3 times a year. But go from sunup to sundown just to catch a keeper sometimes skunked and that’s throwing a lot of baits i only artificial bait fish. But thanks again I really appreciate you informing us it’s really nice to find a friendly local thanks again steve
Flounder gigging is awesome between Aransas Pass and Port A ferries on the right side heading towards the ferry. make sure the winds are light and you should get a few good ones
YES!!! More of this instead of dead air for weeks..Thanks for showing us your area and the water. I appreciate you brother..And can U teach us how to throw a cast net and how to catch bait or shrimp with it? That would be cool too..
I sure am thankful for videos like this I’m form 10hrs north and visit family 3 times yr I never know where to fish or where I’m allowed to fish this is very helpful to me
My husband found that area you are in by accident. We used to go to Portland to catch a movie or drink hot chocolate at iHop and he decided to explore Portland by driving for fishing spots.. We used to fish on Indian Point until they started doing some kind of construction. Did they ever finish that construction? We lived in Corpus for about 5 years taking care of Mom. We never got a chance to fish there where you are but my husbands has always wanting to go there and try it out. Great job on your videos.
Yes, they finished Indian Point take a look at this video and it shows you what it looks like today. Very nice pier now ua-cam.com/video/Gt2cQ-Xloo8/v-deo.html
Thank you for your help giving us some help showing good spots...some selfish people always hide good things.... appreciate your unselfish considerations
I am so happy to see that the Goose Island State Park pier has been repaired. Tons of fond memories there. There is an area before the pier right when you get to the bayside RV sites called "Stinky Beach". I've waded out there and caught some good trout with live shrimp many a time. Thanks for the video! keep up the great work.
Your #2 spot in Rockport I've fished a lot. On the left side I've never caught a fish. On the right - next to the broken pier - flounder and stingray. On the right - facing the harbor wall and entrance - a few trout. Used to be Mangrove snapper on the harbor wall, but I haven't seen them in years. #4. Makes me sad to know the Copano Causeway is gone - and likely gone forever. SO many memories of night fishing off the old causeway.
My wife and I are planning to move to between San Antonio and the coast in the next few years. Cannot wait to saltwater fish. I love fishing, and I could eat fish 3x a week and love it!
This Okie greatly appreciates your fishing spots and tips. I need all the help I can get when I'm down there. My primary purpose for being down there is to see family. The less time I spend looking for a place to fish, the more time I get with my family. Keep up the good work and thanks. Maybe I'll see you at Packery or Luby.
Great video, thanks! You caught my attention with the alligator comment when at Copano Bay. Could you elaborate more on that, such as how common are they there and have they presented a problem in the past? Do the other waters have gators?
Once you get past Rockport gators are common in all the bodies of water near Capano and towards Port Lavaca. Any small creek or any body of water could have gators, There are plenty of them out there. be careful if Wade fishing. Even in Rockport, some have been spotted.
@@texasbeachbum, while I'm on the subject of danger, do big sharks make their way into the bay/inlet areas. I've yet to see a video in which that is mentioned. We'll be there in a month and my girlfriend ain't wading anywhere where's there's the slightest chance of a gator or shark! lol
@stevegunn9971 Yes, bull sharks can be in the bays. Staying in the surf ankle deep is your best bet. Stingrays are the thing you need to worry about more than sharks
Goose island state park is really fun to fish.. ive been spending a week there and than run over to PINS for a week to fish all this winter since nov.. need the water back up another 8 degrees for the bay fish to start hitting good again. But like you id rather surf fish.
next time I come down and camp at Port Aransas I’m going to have to check out that area! Thanks for showing us. Love watching your show from Killeen Texas. 😊 it doesn’t look like anybody is going to get overrun anytime soon!😂😂😂👍👍👍
Thank you for showing us around Quick question thou, do you have any good spots in the same area for blue crabs? We have been to this area before but have had no luck, any help would be greatly appreciated
These spots would be found by any visitor so I don’t know why people complain. This would have definitely saved me some time trying spots though. After visiting Rockport a couple of times a year instead of Port A it took me a while to find spots.
Thanks for sharing. It always mystifies me how tight lipped some youtubers are about their "secret" spots. It's a big ocean, I think we can share a few spots.
Great video Bum, If you like this video, check out Boondocking with Dennis!! Rockport man living out of his truck!! FYI, if you want to have fun fishing this region, get yourself a kayak and fish the shallows!!!

The area your showing is Portland by Indian point not Rockport.
