Never been to Texas but now you got me wanting to take the trip for some good ole fishing. I should be good and ready after watching this great video.....very much appreciated 🤝
Just make sure you get a salt water license and salt water stamp .Also know the size of the different fish you can keep.Otherwise the game warden may give you a big ticket.
Thanks for sharing your favorite places to fish. Cant wait to try a few of those spots out. You should make a video of your favorite places to dine in Port A, Portland, South Padre and Corpus Christi
Fished most all of these spots and had really good success. The only one I haven’t fished yet is fish pass jetty. Great video for those looking to get into fishing the Corpus area!
Fish Pass jetties are good because not a ton of people there usually early in the morning. Also the fish will school on the Port Aransas side not the Mustang Island side for about a half mile leading up to the jetty. So you can catch big fish just in the surf if you don't feel like fishing off the jetty. I usually just fish near the jetty in the surf and catch some big reds and trout
Thanks for taking the time to shoot this vid. It confirmed some spots for us and reminded us of two we had forgotten all together. Tight lines & buenos nachos.
Thank you so much for the lovely drive through my favorite place on the Texas Coast. The last time we were going to be there, was October, 2017. You see how that turned out... I am so proud of Fulton for the comeback they’ve made. Except for a bunch of palm carcasses, one couldn’t tell there was ever a catastrophic storm. Thank you again, and we hope to make it down again real soon!
Been waiting for this! I come down from up north 3rd week in October 5yrs running and always had to figure it out (badly) where to go. Thanks so much for sharing. Awesome job, Loved it! 👊👊
Just the video I need! I will be coming down to Corpus later this week. I have a son with special needs and I needed to find some places that I can get out to and fish with him. I've been to Mustang Island many times camping with my in laws.
Awesome video great editing. Yeah you made a lot of miles. I live in between those sos and Laguna Madre in Flour Bluff Texas. So I can tell you you did a great job
Hoping to visit Texas for the first time next year from England and hope to catch some fish off the shore. great video and very informative and will be watching all your films to help me catch something. thanks for posting
Headed to Corpus Christi tomorrow for a week-long vacation. I've always enjoyed Packery and Red Dot. Can't wait to try the other spots!!! Thank you so much!!!
@@texasbeachbums we caught about 30 croaker, whitting and 1 spanish mackerel and one 17 inch speckled trout right there in Packery Channel. We had a blast!!
@@texasbeachbums we used dead shrimp and cut bait. We parked as far up the channel we could. Got out right there and let it fly. Didn't even walk up the channel much at all. Saturday morning was super slow, but Thursday and Friday while it was cloudy was perfect. We were pulling them out left and right on dead shrimp and cut bait.
Thank you for taking the time to show those of us who may not know the area, like myself, different places to go to. I enjoy your videos, thank you and Semper Fi from the USMC.
Thank you for your service, sir. All locations mentioned are nice . Except Roberts point, at night rats come out from the cracks of them boulders. Enjoy.
PINS Is awesome. Been going to that beach since 1976. Fished pretty much all those spots. I hope bob hall pier gets rebuilt. Harvey did a number on that area.. Thanks again for the tips, Texas Beach Bum. Keep your line wet!!
That was a great intro to some good spots, I did not know a couple of them but of course heard rumors and stuff. Thanks for highlighting them for others to see, very well put together....
You really know your areas very detail info, glad you were able to show Padre island “pins” on the map most people still get South Padre Island where I’m from confused with Corpus, and you are right there’s nothing like surf fishing and camping out on the beach, tight lines my friend 🤙
Thanks for letting us know the observation tower is open again. It's an important part of our yearly visit. Last October it was still closed from the hurricane.
Wow great video! I was there last weekend. It was cloudy and we still had a blast. I love it there 💜 so peaceful. Where do you get your fishing license ?
Texas Beach Bum awesome thanks. My parents are coming from out of state and want to fish. Your videos are helping me plan for Their visit. 😊much appreciated!
Thank you for showing folks like myself these spots, I can't afford a boat and so the only places I know are the south jetties Charlie's pasture and Clem's. Now thank to you I now have a few more places to try my luck. Thank again👍
Great video. You showed me a few new spots I hope to try out this weekend. It's pretty cool seeing suggested places at some of the spots I already fish. Thanks!
Believe it or not, I just came back from almost every fishing spot that you just mentioned. Friday and Saturday. I visited. Did I go fishing, nope. Don't know how. But I'll go back. I'll learn.
I missed this one ,my wife and I love coming to this part of the Texas coast...we are from Weslaco Texas ,yes the Texas Coast has it all ...thank you for the videos, they are very informative.
Great video and some real good info for next time we can get back. Port A, A-Pass and CC are my favorite areas on the coast. Sure wished I'd found this video a month ago before we went down there- just missed it by 3 days. 650 miles (one way) for 10 flounder and 2 sheepshead. Would liked to have caught a bunch more Sheeps and some Mangroves, Gafftops and some Specks.
I love this video thank you so much for sharing this. I am planning on moving there and was wondering if you would share area that are good area to live or not the hood like and places that are not haunted
Anywhere on the southside is a good place. The island is also nice. Do a search on Google and you will see the top areas here as I only know where I live on the Southside
Thanks for the video, I've been to Corpus/Port A many times but never knew where to start, only freshwater fished before. I will be down for July 4th at Mustang Island, It will probably be crowded to the point I don't want to be around people but I might have to take a walk over to that Fish Pass Jetty and see if anything is biting.
Awesome video! I'm new to the Corpus area and yesterday I went all the down the Padre Island national sea shore for the first time and it's a shame how much plastic was up on the dunes. Is it normally like this or was this the result of Hurricane Hanna?
No it's not normal;ly like this it is because of the Hurricanes we had out in the gulf washing plastic bottles onto the beach. I from now on am taking a trash bag every time I go fishing and going to get what's all around me. Sad that some people who come here on vacation leave there trash on the beach as well. Welcome to Corpus man and thanks for watching
Just liked and subbed we are headed out to port a the 18th,19th for my stepsons birthday really liked this video i hope i can get him on some fish any tips or tricks to get him on TIA
Get you some Pompano rigs at Walmart. get you a few of them. Use some live shrimp or dead in the surf or at the park in town in Port Aransas. If you fish at the park make sure you cast farther out to avoid the rocks. You can also use a poppin cork with some shrimp at the park that will do real well. You can also use fishbytes from Walmart those work real well anywhere
Good video and information. I have fished at 6 of the places you recommend and hope to try the others sometime soon. I would like to see you post a follow up video on how to fish these places - i.e. tackle, bait, type of rig (bottom or popping cork), etc... I watch some bass fishing shows and they all make the same error in not providing "how to" info. I'm not interested in watching a guy catch an 8 pound bass - I want to know how he did it.
You look familiar. Earlier this year, maybe January, I had a row of surf rods lined up maybe half mile North of the Packery channel and a guy stopped to tell me where the good rip current was aligned with a wooden deck over the dunes, and to hit that for Pompano. Could that have been you?
GRRREAT VIDEO. I have never been in that area or direction ever, and now I can look forward to what places to hit when I do. I will save this video for that purpose down the road. There is one thing I do have a question is that you never have mention anything about good flounder fishing. Which one of those spots do you recommend for flounder fishing in waders?
Fish Pass Jetties and the Port A jetties you can catch some monster flat boys ! Especially right now. We are going this Saturday flounder gigging. Appreciate you watching and commenting
@@texasbeachbums Thank you so much. And that's awesome, for i have never done that. Hopefully you can get some great footage for your next video! Thanks again.
Tell ya what bro. I think it would be soooo useful to many people to have a vid showing wheelchair friendly spots. Piers, jetty, beaches. Ive seen people ask in other vids and fishing forums. Just an idea.
Yeah so I was in this cafe down at Port Aransas, that claimed to have homemade Tomato Basil Soup. And I have to admit it was tasting good until I found the soup can lid in the bottom of my bowl. They said we don't know how that could have happened. Needless to say they comped my lunch but it just proved that, their Tomato Basil was not homemade like they claimed.
I think by Saturday everything should be just fine. It's a mess right now beaches are closed but by Saturday the fish will be hungry. Thanks for watching appreciate your comment
