I've used my Xs10 for wedding videography for the last 6 months. I always knew I'd have an overheating issue, just from the very humid and hot climate I live in down in Louisiana. I found a nice workaround while filming a wedding a few weeks ago when it was very very hot. Purchased a small portable fan (that doubles as a portable battery and fit in my pocket) When I wasnt shooting I'd turn the fan on and put it near my camera and it didn't overheat at all that day!
Actually thinking of replacing my XE3 with the XS10. I have realised after using an Olympus OMD EM 1 2 that for me IBIS is useful. I don’t want to replace my XT2 just yet as the XT4 is too expensive. Great review
New players choose older or cheaper models, professionals choose xt3 or xt4. Very few videos on youtube compare the details of these two machines, mid-range. You did it very well sir.
I can always trust you to mention things about new cameras that are not publicized by others. Focus bracketing? Yes please. I had no idea these cameras had it! This was very helpful for discriminating between these two cameras and seeing them side by side gave me an idea of their comparative sizes. Thanks!
I have just discover your channel today and I have learned many MANY things, your explanations are awesome. I'm introducing myself into this beautiful world of photography and I think I will learn a lot in this community. Many thanks for making such great videos, much appreciated. Regards from Spain Maarten. Now I'm subscribed!
Great video as always! I really like how calm you talk and at the same time how many information you give! I wanted to ask if on the X-S10 there's an AF-S mode when in video mode. The only workaround I found for now is holding down the AF-lock button, but it's not the same.
Wow, it feels like you read my mind! I didn't know that X-S10 was an option so I was in between XE4 and XT4. Now I know XS10 is the right fit for me. Thank you so much!
Thanks for this review. I was planning to buy the X-E4, but regret the aperture function. Most of the time I am lazy and choose the aperture on my X-t3. I want to buy this cam for bicycle rides (live in the Netherlands) and some strolling in the city. Hope the stores will open up soon again here. Thanks and greetings.
??? The aperture function is the same - turn the dial on the lens to the setting you prefer. However, if you have an X-E3, I might not be in a hurry to upgrade. My detailed side-by-side (X-E3 vs X-E4) s nearly complete.
I like your videos, sir! It's just different from others. Very enjoyable to watch and to listen. Hopefully by the end of this year I will buy my first Fujifilm camera. This video is really helpful in that regard. Love from Bangladesh.
A brilliant and kind review of two very exciting cameras… I need a camera for both street photography and landscape/ nature studies for paintings, & it looks like the X-S10 for me..
Thanks for such a detailed analysis, as always. I was trying to decide between the XT4 and XS10, when the XE4 showed up. The XS10 seems like great value, with little downside.
I'm a little late to the party, but I was wondering if the X-E4 can be set up to utilise back button focus? Thanks for your excellent comparison review. One of the best I've ever seen!
Hey Martin, thanks for your effort! Nice video. Since the X-E4 has so less buttons I would love to see which touch settings are available on it. I know the swipe gestures but maybe there are more icons on the displays which allows for quick operation. Thanks.
@@MaartenHeilbron That's pretty unfortunate. Thought Fujifilm would use a similar interface like on the X-A7. At least they should have given us the option!
@@MaartenHeilbron Or a two-off, as the X-T200 also has the complete touch interface of the X-A7 (plus a few additional physical controls and a built-in EVF). 😀
@@MaartenHeilbron thanks! I need a camera for filming and couldnt decide between the xs10 and the xt3. Today i ordered the xt3. Thanks for your Videos!
I haven't tested it myself, but I've read that tilting the LCD a bit so that it's not flat against the body provides a little breathing room that helps with heat dissipation. That was a recommendation for the X-T2, which does overheat. But by the time I'd seen the suggestion, I'd started using X-T3s for video, which have never overheated on me. When you pull the LCD away from the body, you can definitely feel how it likely does help with heat dissipation, I just haven't done recording tests to verify it.
The interweb is full of hacks that offer marginal assistance. You can try, keeping batteries in the fridge, using a quick release plate to dissipate heat, but none provide any kind of useful benefit. The best solution, as you observe, is to purchase a camera with a larger body that's less likely to overheat.
A thing to note is that cameras that dont have flip out screens use those screens for heat dissipation. Meaning that not flipping out the screen on these cameras is detrimental to the performance.
@@MaartenHeilbron I wonder how you came to that conclusion. I professionally repair cameras and some tend to overheat. Opening the battery cover and moving out the tft does cool it down faster, but it works best when the air is moving and is chilly.
I think that moving chilly air is the major contributing factor. Keeping the screen out and the door open do very little to extend operating time while recording. Try sitting the camera on one of those freezer packs you use in coolers.
Very nice presentation and a pleasure to listen to your comparison. The camera for me will be the X100V - simple and compact. Thank you for all you do!
Hey Marteen! I love your channel and thank you for this great video. I'm looking for a camera to always be in my bag, the more compact the better (i will be doing mainly stills). Do you feel that the size difference is big enough to go with the xe4?
@@MaartenHeilbron Thanks for the clarification , that function would be important , to me. Sony RX 100 mark 7 is my choice , so far , but it has the smaller sensor .
@@Sydney2217 Always happy to help. Dedicated video cameras are more likely to have power zooms (but less likely to have larger sensors). The M7 does have a tendency to overheat and is limited for video. Consider instead (same small sensor, but better lens) the RX10 III or IV.
Well now you have me curious! Which do you actually prefer for the way you shoot? ;-). Can't just leave us hanging! Truly enjoy your videos for all the reasons mentioned in your comments. Very helpful, insightful, technical and enjoyable. Cheers!
Thanks for your kind words. Yes. Check to see if your model is supported on Fujifilm's X-Webcam download page. Once the drivers are installed, you should be able to access the camera from any app that supports a camera. However, in my experience, even some that do, don't work properly, so there are no sure bets here.
Great comparison. A quick question on custom modes. Can these be set to include things like shutter priority and auto focus type? My xe3 only allows image settings like film simulation and iso
I know two things that are making me lean toward the XS10 vs XE4 is first that when adding the extra grip for the XE4 you cannot access the battery or SD slot which is crazy that you have to take it off each time you want to access it. And second I heard that when you put the XE4 screen into selfie mode it leaves the ribbon to the screen exposed which if damaged would be bad! Just some extra things to think about!
X-E4 + optional grip + thumb rest has similar weight & price with X-S10 (which already built-in good grip & IBIS). Major difference is X-E4 (Fuji dedicated dial) vs X-S10 (PASM dial). Really wish Fuji release X-S10 with Fuji dedicated dial.
Hi Maarten. Thanks for the creation of this video. I just purchased the X-S10 a couple days ago for my upcoming trip to Kyushu in southern Japan. One issue that has always plagued me on pretty much any camera is wireless connectivity to transfer data between camera and smartphone. The process always seems to be confusing loaded with obfuscations. Do we use Bluetooth for a simple local transfer between devices? Do we use WiFi for a wireless connection? Both are usually present. Is one or the other, OK, or must both be running at the same time? Do we need access to a WiFi network, or can a WiFi connection be established between the two devices? It would behoove camera manufacturers to get a bit smarter and start to incorporate some of the conveniences and advancements in AI technology and computational photography employed in world of smartphones. It world make their cameras also so much smarter so as to preclude all these transfer headaches. But alas, they don't and still stuck in this old school of thought for accomplishing these transfers. Cheers, Jerry, Tokyo.
While I agree that the process still needs work, most cameras (like the X-S10) now do switch reasonably simply between the two (bluetooth for always on connectivity and wifi for image transfer). Please say hello to all my friends in Tokyo.
Do you think it would be weird for me to choose the XE4 instead of the XS10 for a budget Photography camera and video content creation focusing on youtube? Will the overheating issue be a problem for my workflow? The XS10 is just a bit too overpriced here in indonesia so i'm planning to get the XE4 body only with cheap Second hand lens. What do you think? Oh, and also thanks for the comparison video
Only weird if you're planning to do video. If you're planning to shoot for UA-cam, a camera that overheats quickly will be a source of endless frustration. Maybe consider a used X-H1.
Great review as always. I fell in love with the design of X-e4 the moment I saw it but was discouraged by its limitations compared to X-S10. The XS-10 is priced around 120$ more than X-e4 here in India. My main concern is the lack of IBIS in X-e4. Do you think I should go for X-e4 and get myself a gimbal for $150 instead of switching to X-S10?
Yes, the X-E4 has the movie optimized control, and saves settings between stills and video independently. The video menu indicates which are independent.
@@MaartenHeilbron they should update the XT3 to have that feature when in movie mode- you really don’t need an independent movie/stills switch for that. Thanks again.
@@MaartenHeilbron on xt3 your mode dial has movie mode right between all the stills modes. So once you’re in that, the xt3 knows you are shooting video.
Bought an X-S10 to use with my canon FD lenses as it has IBIS. Good results so far, was annoyed that the Viltrox EF-FX1 didn't work so was sent back so I'm limited to my Canon FD lenses. The camera is so comfortable, menus are easy to understand and the sensor o/p is excellent. Has an X-E2 before but sold it as, as a spetacle wearer, I had difficulty seeing the screen or EVF, so that went back. The X-S10 viewfinder is much better. Happy so far but I'll have to get some AF lenses.
Dear Maarten, I'm an ardent fan of your excellent videos. So here's my frustrating dilemma. I'm sending my X-E3 back for a second repair for the same fault to Fujifilm UK. Have you heard of a battery drain condition with these or other Fuji X cameras? If I put a fully charged Battery, (any of the three OEM ones I have), and leave it in the camera with the camera switched off with a memory card the battery will go from full to exhausted in 7 or 8 days. (I get 13-14 days if the memory card is removed). Last time Fuji replaced the main circuit board on spec, needless to sat that obviously didn't fix the problem. I was considering trying the X-S10 out and if Fuji can't fix it I'm going to ask them to send me one in exchange? What do you think?
Either camera will do. The 27mm f2.8 pancake lens keeps them small and lightweight. There is also the fixed lens X100V of course if you want a fixed 23mm lens.
Pretty much any camera will do. Yes, the X-S10 or X-E4 are both good choices. If you have the cooperation of your subjects, then 35-50mm is a good range. If you want a defocussed background, a lens with a wider aperture will provide better results.
Exactly! If I was the product manager and the overheating could not be better resolved I would have removed video entirely, and likely excited a lot of photographers.
I am not a videographer, but I would not expect them to record scenes lasting more than a couple of minutes, the limited recording length is probably not an issue.
I need clarification please: On the XE-4 did you say you could control both shutter speed and aperture from the front dial in manual mode? I understand you have to click it to change from shutter speed to F-stop/aperture and you also have the aperture ring, but if you wanted to go the control dial method can you set it in Manual use the dial to set shutter speed, then click it have it set aperture while not changing any modes? In other words will it stay in manual and operate this way?
Thank you for this excellent comparison. I recently found your channel and I'm very happy about it. I've been looking to move to Fuji since a long time but wanted a rangefinder style camera, which is lightweight and fairly advanced. I think the X-E4 checks these boxes. Though I have a question and It would be great if you can answer it for me. In my day to day photography with my Nikon D7200, I often switch between metering modes and focus modes (AF-S, AF-C etc.) apart from general exposure settings. And with my current camera, I can do this without taking camera off my eye. With the limited customizable controls, do you think it is possible to do the same on X-E4 ? All I want in a camera is that I can control aperture, shutter, iso, metering and focus modes and points without going inside the menu and preferably without taking my eye off viewfinder. Do you think it would be possible on X-E4. It would be great if you can answer this. But I understand you get many questions and I'll understand if you aren't able to reply. In any case, thank you for your content. I truly appreciate your channel. :)
Great to hear, always nice to know my videos are appreciated. Yes, you can use the custom settings on the X-E4 to switch focus and metering modes. However, the custom sets don't include aperture or shutter settings. However, with the physical controls, they are easy enough to set.
First time buying a proper camera and I'm really wanting a Fuji in this price range. I'm going to be going pretty heavy on video though. Leaning towards the XS10, but should I consider the battery life/overheating issue a dealbreaker and consider something else?
Excellent review! The X-E4 is an inspiration from Leica Q2, a stylish, compact, and minimalistic design with all the feature and capabilities you find in bigger and more expensive cameras. Its also going to compote with Sony RX100 range camera. I will have one on my shopping list soon :-))
@@MaartenHeilbron I think Fuji very well knows that, the X-E4 is going to be a niche camera, for people looking for a more of a point and shoot, minimalistic/compact design and for a causal photo/video shooter. I do agree with you that there is lots of competition, but not many of them bring to the table what X-E4 can offer for the price.
thanks for such a thorough video Maarten! Any idea whether using an external power source helps with overheating and allowing for longer record times on the XE4? thanks!
My question is, on the XS10 can I set the front wheel to be more than one thing? I have a lens with no aperture ring, so can I for example set it to be aperture and shutter?
Page 69 of the user manual provides a useful chart for how the 2 command dials work in different modes on the X-S10. If you're shooting in Aperture-priority mode or in Manual mode, the front command dial is used for aperture. If you're shooting in Manual mode, the rear command dial is used for shutter speed. Does this help?
Nice and very clear comparison and explanations Maarten. 👍 I’ve got an X-T20, with pretty slow and outdated focus tracking ability, so I miss quite a few shots. Be nice if Fuji allowed in-camera extraction of stills (8MP?) from 4K video, as may prove very useful for fast or unpredictable action- the likes of Panasonic offer this feature, without the need, and hassle of having to process this out of camera in different software.
Thanks, a pleasure to read your kind words. Understood. However, expecting video focus to be faster than a camera's stills focus isn't realistic. Even on Panasonic cameras (which have an inferior focus system to Fujifilm) the ability to extract stills from a video does not improve the focus speed. What will improve your focus is practice and your ability to anticipate and prepare for the exact right moment. It's also possible that a manual focus technique, or using back focus might provide better results.
Yes, absolutely. I am using manual focus techniques most of the time now- but it’s still a trick to capture a very fast and/or erratically moving subject with 8 frames per second- often the subject’s face/eyes are just a fraction ahead or behind the focus plane- with it being in-focus in between the 8 frames per second mechanical captures- and I’ve had mixed results with electronic shutter. Often spontaneous special moments are gone in the blink of an eye....especially when there’s nothing substantial to manually focus on to acquire range beforehand...... my practice continues! 🤪👍
Maarten, thank you for your excellent presentation. The XE-4 is sold in a kit with the pancake 27mm lens, and really will fit in a [large] pocket, great for travel and vacations. This compares in size, and many features, with the fixed lens X100V which adds built-in flash and an ISO dial and weather resistance. Fuji now offer so many choices that it's tough to decide between them ...
Excellent job once more, Maarten! Thanks for mentioning the number of customizable buttons. I thought that the Drive (and hoped that the Play) button would be programmable as well - guess I was wrong. :-( One more question: Is it even possible to program one of the programmable buttons to choose the focusing mode (i.e. to compensate for the M/C/S switch) or can this be done via the Q menu only? Another note: On non-PASM Fuji models Aperture Priority Mode is indeed available and simply achieved by having the shutter speed dial on A and explicitly choosing the aperture (on the lens or via the dial).
Yes, focus selection can be assigned to one of the custom keys. When you press the focus mode selection screen appears. Thanks, wasn't sure (blank manual and all) that the A referred to the shutter duration or to Auto mode.
@@MaartenHeilbron Ok, at least... Thanks for looking into that! On the 'A' settings: Yes, the red 'A' on the dials (aperture, shutter speed, ISO (if even available)) mean that the camera will automatically set the value for this(!) part of the exposure triangle. As long as one of these is on 'A' the exposure metering and Exposure Compensation dial will be taken into account. If the shutter speed is on 'A' and the aperture is set explicitly by the user -> "Aperture Priority". If the aperture is on 'A' and the shutter speed is set explicitly by the user -> "Shutter Priority". I shoot in "Aperture Priority" 99% of the time. Also I do have ISO set to an Auto ISO with min:200, max:6400, min. SS: 1/200. I always want to set the aperture my self (control DoF and/or sharpness sweet spot of the lens) and the camera takes care of SS and ISO (trying to keep SS above the min. of the Auto ISO setting). Exposure Comp. helps for quick correction. And if there is the need I can just explicitly set one of the other settings, e.g. set SS to >= 500 for fast moving objects, or SS to 1/15 for motion blur, etc. - no need to switch to some other S or M mode...
Looking to move from Panasonic to Fujifilm for my smaller camera. Was first tempted by XE3 as I like range finder style for my smaller camera. I was then looking at the XS10. I was hoping for ibis in the XE4 And would have bought one quickly. But they left it out..... (I occasionally may need for video.) So frustrating. XS10 is the camera that has everything I require. I just wish it was range finder style. So infuriating...... Tempted to keep my GX80 and buy a GRiii instead..
@@MaartenHeilbron Looking forward to your XE3/ XE4 video. I'm happy with my Panasonic GX80 with dual ibis for video. May just grab the cheap XE3 for stills. Would miss my Leica 15mm on the Panasonic though. Why are photographic decisions sometimes so difficult?
@@MaartenHeilbron I'm starting to be tempted to keep my GX80 with ibis & stabilised lens for the rare occasional video. And sell my Leica 15mm 1.7, and buy the XE4 with a couple of primes.
Dear Maarten. Thank you for the Video. I have a specific question about a particular use case for a feature that you did not cover in your review, and that is the High Speed Video mode. I know that the specifications for both cameras is pretty much the same, and I assume they would function the same, but I have not been able to see this compared and to see how it works. My particular need for the camera is to analyse technical movement in sports, so the full HD High Speed (240fps) video is particularly important. Some other cameras offer this functionality, but in reality it is not functional as you can only review the high speed footage in post production and not on camera for imediate review, or it is limited to a short 2-4 second burst. My hope is that both these cameras allow for this high speed video to be used just with the press of a button to start and stop the shooting, and then be available to review this footage in camera imediately, and importantly with playback and pause functions and hopefully single frame advance and perhaps even variable speed playback. Is there any way that you could check these features out for me and tell me how this functions as during Covid it has not been possible to actually get to try out and test one of these cameras without purchasing first. I do not think any other cameras offer this kind of funtionality and so I am really interested to see how this works on these Fuji cameras. Thanks in advance.
I would recommend that you look at some Sony models, like the RX10 IV, that provide exactly the functionality you're referring to. That's demonstrated here: ua-cam.com/video/YGqeezyuifg/v-deo.html. However, in these consumer cameras, as the speed of capture increases, quality and frame size decreases.
@@MaartenHeilbron Thanks you for your reply, but in fact these cameras do not have the funtionality that I am looking for as it is complicated to access the actual high speed video mode, and it can only be used for basically a fixed burst of 1-2 or 2-4 seconds (dependent on model). What I am looking for which I think the Fuji x-S10 and E-4 offer, is the ability to film a clip of 240fps for a certain length just by pressing the start and stop button, but importantly also to be able to view it imediately on camera screen with the ability to pause and frame advance (using the joysick control). The Sony do not offer this functionality, although they will allow as you say a higher frame rate at lower resolution. 240fps at 1080p resolution is acceptable, but the actual functionality of accessing the footage is important. THe old Casio EX-F1 was perfect for this but resolution is far too low now (640x480 at 240fps) You showed a good example of a film clip (10sec) at 240fps in 1080p quality, but I am interested in if you can play pack in the camera and view on the inbuilt screen, while controlling with joystick control to go frame by frame, and maybe even to speed up playback at certain points if needed. Thanks
@@Shaun_Pickering The X-S10's recording limit for 240 frames is 6 minutes and starts/stops like other video modes. The record rates (regardless of frame rate) is 200 Mbits. The playback speed can be set before recording at 24 to 60 frames, but can't be changed in camera later. nHope this helps.
I get the idea, however I personally would love a dedicated shutter speed dial on the S10. a very compelling camera otherwise :) much more so than the e series to me

??? The aperture function is the same - turn the dial on the lens to the setting you prefer. However, if you have an X-E3, I might not be in a hurry to upgrade. My detailed side-by-side (X-E3 vs X-E4) s nearly complete.

14:40 So there's an Electronic Image Stabilization for videos on X-E4. Right?
NO! There's the option to turn optical off (as there's no switch on the lens to do that).
I'm a little late to the party, but I was wondering if the X-E4 can be set up to utilise back button focus? Thanks for your excellent comparison review. One of the best I've ever seen!
You can customize the AEL/AFL key to that function.

Hey Martin, thanks for your effort! Nice video.
Since the X-E4 has so less buttons I would love to see which touch settings are available on it. I know the swipe gestures but maybe there are more icons on the displays which allows for quick operation. Thanks.
There are not. They are the same as other Fujifilm models - 4 swipe motions, and the focus&snap, focus, area select.

Well, that's an interesting urban myth. Among the others are leaving the battery door open
Always my pleasure, thanks for your kind words.
Hey Marteen! I love your channel and thank you for this great video. I'm looking for a camera to always be in my bag, the more compact the better (i will be doing mainly stills). Do you feel that the size difference is big enough to go with the xe4?
That, of course, is your decision. If you can let the size be your primary decision driver, then yes.
Thank you for the comparison. It was very helpfull for me. Cheers form Germany.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your kind words.
Is there power zoom lever or similar f0r video ?
There is one Fujifilm lens with a power zoom, the XC 15-45. It is not a very high quality lens.

Well made review videos! Can Fujifilm cameras be used as a camera for laptops or Pc? Aside for webcam purposes.
Thanks for your kind words.
Yes. Check to see if your model is supported on Fujifilm's X-Webcam download page. Once the drivers are installed, you should be able to access the camera from any app that supports a camera. However, in my experience, even some that do, don't work properly, so there are no sure bets here.
@@MaartenHeilbron That's awesome! Thank you
Great comparison. A quick question on custom modes. Can these be set to include things like shutter priority and auto focus type? My xe3 only allows image settings like film simulation and iso
I will include those details in my review - I did not anticipate the level of interest in the custom mode settings.
I appreciate the notes regarding your decision.
X-E4 + optional grip + thumb rest has similar weight & price with X-S10 (which already built-in good grip & IBIS).
Major difference is X-E4 (Fuji dedicated dial) vs X-S10 (PASM dial).

Indeed. That about sums it up.
Can the XE4 do manual focus zoom? I use it all the time on the XT2 but since the back dial is gone I wonder how to do it on the XE4.
Yes. It can be done from the menu, assigned to a key or by turning on focus check, it happens as soon as you turn the focus ring.
Love your videos!
Thanks, a pleasure to read your kind words.
No, I think you should get the X-S10, and the gimbal is still a good idea.
Greetings from Singapore! Still watching this even though I love me X-T3!
Thanks for watching. Continue loving that X-T3 and please say hello to all my friends in Singapore!
Does the XE4 have silent movie mode or another way of retaining movie-specific settings different from stills? Thanks, very nice as always.

Thanks for sharing your notes.
Well balanced presentation; thank you.
Thanks, a pleasure to read your kind words.
Dear Maarten,
I'm an ardent fan of your excellent videos.
As that's not something I've observed, have you tried another battery? or removing the battery while you're not using it?
Thank you for your video! What if I want to take portraits of people in the street ? I could go with the X S 10 with a great lense or?
Either camera will do. The 27mm f2.8 pancake lens keeps them small and lightweight.
There is also the fixed lens X100V of course if you want a fixed 23mm lens.
Pretty much any camera will do. Yes, the X-S10 or X-E4 are both good choices. If you have the cooperation of your subjects, then 35-50mm is a good range. If you want a defocussed background, a lens with a wider aperture will provide better results.
11:47 I wonder why X-E4 has all those video settings while it is practically impossible to use because of heating..
Exactly! If I was the product manager and the overheating could not be better resolved I would have removed video entirely, and likely excited a lot of photographers.
I am not a videographer, but I would not expect them to record scenes lasting more than a couple of minutes, the limited recording length is probably not an issue.
@@fredbloggs545 I appreciate that it might not be an issue for you.
If I followed your comment correctly, yes.
Where did the focus button go?
It's taking a break. You'll have to use the menu, but you can assign it to a function key.
Hi! Great video! I am just a little confused; how would I set aperture priority on the XE-4?
You would set shutter duration dial to A.
If your purpose is video, consider the X-H1, X-T3 or X-T4.
What would you choose between the XS10 and Sony A6400?
That would depend on what I was planning to do, my brand preference and my experience with either brand.
There's certainly lots of competition. Best to make product decisions based on customer surveys.

Sí, ambos admiten español, muchos, muchos más idiomas, pero por lo que puedo ver, no catalán.
What is the total depth of the X-E4 with the extra grip attached?
It looks like about 50mm to me. However, that doesn't include the lens.
@@MaartenHeilbron thank you!
My question is, on the XS10 can I set the front wheel to be more than one thing? I have a lens with no aperture ring, so can I for example set it to be aperture and shutter?
It has no custom settings.
@@bobc.6419 Thanks for adding this detail.
Nice and very clear comparison and explanations Maarten. 👍
I’ve got an X-T20, with pretty slow and outdated focus tracking ability, so I miss quite a few shots.
@@petoneoldboy2222 There are very few cameras (cough - Sony - cough) that might be able to handle that.
Yes, cough. I suspected as much. Cough 😢
@@petoneoldboy2222 Oh dear, you might want to have that looked at. Hopefully, it's not serious!
Very large pocket. Larger than in any article of clothing I own. So many choices, so tough to decide - you've got that part right!
Excellent job once more, Maarten! Thanks for mentioning the number of customizable buttons. I thought that the Drive (and hoped that the Play) button would be programmable as well - guess I was wrong. :-(
One more question: Is it even possible to program one of the programmable buttons to choose the focusing mode (i.e. to compensate for the M/C/S switch) or can this be done via the Q menu only?
@@patrick6294 Thanks. My only confusion was that A is also often used to designate the full Auto position, which this camera doesn't have.
@@MaartenHeilbron Well, but that's what 'P' is for (on this model - which replaces the 'Auto' switch of the X-E3), isn't it?
Do you think it will be problematic that the XS10 can only save 4 custom film recipes? Chances of Fuji updating this via firmware?

I feel zen after watching your videos… lovely
Glad to hear that, always nice to know that there's more aesthetic value in the work than I imagine.
THe old Casio EX-F1 was perfect for this but resolution is far too low now (640x480 at 240fps)
You showed a good example of a film clip (10sec) at 240fps in 1080p quality, but I am interested in if you can play pack in the camera and view on the inbuilt screen, while controlling with joystick control to go frame by frame, and maybe even to speed up playback at certain points if needed.
