Crazy thing is Acquiesce, Headshrinker and Talk Tonight were all on the same B side for Some Might Say. That's about a third of a great album right there. It's mad that the majority of their great B sides came from songs on their first two albums and everyone panned the third album. They could have made back to back to back to back classics if they didn't give all their best stuff away for free on those b sides. Imagine their third album was Acquiesce, The Masterplan, Half the world Away, Fade Away, Talk Tonight, Head Shrinker, Step Out, I am the Walrus and then you can throw in Do you know what I Mean, Stand by Me and All around the World.
Four of those are singles. In the UK - three of those were Number One in the singles chart, and Shock of the Lightning peaked at number 3 (beaten if I recall rightly by Pink and Kings of Leon) Spot on for Let’s All Make Believe though - probably Oasis’ best b-side of the 00’s 👍
100% agree - if I could add to the list - Round are way (crime it wasn’t even on the masterplan), keep the dream alive, be here now (the song though Liam gave it life on his solo tour), roll it over (same), full on with Liam on vocals
I’m 22 so like many of my generation Oasis fans a lot of the 2000s songs kind of get disregarded. I heard roll it over for the first time at Knebworth 22 and it absolutely blew me away, now firmly among my favourite songs by any band. I love the album version but the way it sounds on the Knebworth 22 album is just amazing.
Interesting take from the comments, all the Oasis fans from different countries Many listing songs which were big hit singles here in the UK - some of which are among Oasis’ 8 Number Ones. But obviously must not have been released as a single in US, Canada or wherever fan is from The band had the magic and Noel knew how to write a hit song.
You're absolutely right about The Turning, it has such a cool mystery vibe and the solo is insanely good. Plus, its placement on the tracklist of Dig Out Your Soul couldn't be better, after the mega outro of Bag It Up
For my list, it would probably be 1. Falling down 2. The Masterplan 3. Its gettin better man 4. Love like a bomb 5. Listen up I know its a strange pick but I love falling down 😂 your list was great!!!
I would say Where Did It All Go Wrong, My Sister Lover, Listen Up, Hey Now, Who Puts The Weight of the world on my shoulders, Part of the queue, I Believe In All. But i could say it differently on an other day so much Oasis has the best catalogue of b-sides😆
Could have a top 15 for this. Getting Older, Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders, Lets All Make Believe, Roll It Over, Step Out (Liam Vocals), Take Me Away, One Way Road, Heart Of A Star (Christmassy song for me)
I think due to the end of Britpop era, SOTSOG has many songs that are disrespected by the general public for not having the same "Oasis" feel. Although it's just an instrumental, the album opener of Fuckin' In The Bushes defo deserves more attention.
my three fav oasis songs are turn up the sun, mucky fingers and angel child, wish they got more recognition. Theres also a lovely instrumental called trip inside too which is lovely
The obvious ones are Acquiesce and The Masterplan...absolute anthems! I'd add Cast No Shadow. Moving and melancholic with Liam sounding A1 and Noel providing great backing vocals. Had single written all over it for me at the time. Maybe the verse repeating had them deciding against a single release. One of the best Oasis tunes.
The should have taken the 3-4 best songs of "be here now" and all best b-sides and made it the third album. Weaker tracks from be here now (as we know it now) could have been b-sides insted. That would have been an absolute banger.
Whatever should have been a hit and classic song. This song should have become a staple at graduations and used in sentimental montages. In my mind an absolutely perfect song.
Some underrated love songs that were maybe a bit too sad for Oasis but could have topped the charts: Sad Song, Talk Tonight & You’ve got the Heart of a Star
5. Roll It Over (I cannot believe they never did this live as a band) 4. Where Did It All Go Wrong? (Just the Jools Holland 2000 performance alone makes me wonder how this was not a hit) 3. Don't Go Away (Noel should have done the vocals, Liam's voice does not suit the soft nature of the song) 2. Just Getting Older 1. One Way Road
I’ll do five from albums and five from b-sides which had they been released as singles, would have been huge hits. Let’s go with: Rock n Roll Star Morning Glory Champagne Supernova She’s Electric Gas Panic Acquiesce The Masterplan Stay Young Listen Up Half The World Away
Stop Crying Your Heart Out, The Masterplan, D'you Know What I Mean? Edit: And how TF Noel never even bothered to finish 'If We Shadows'... I'll NEVER f@¢k!ng know, man! Also, A Bell Will Ring (proper Revolver-era Beatles) Mucky Dingers (Velvet Underground×Bob Dylan) & Born On a Different Cloud (Lennon & Plastic Ono Band) All of those, just IMO anyway, are undeniably excellent listens! And lastly, as honorable mentions: Bring It On Down & Hey Now! I love both of them, to be perfectly honest! Noel should incorporate it into NG's HFB live shows! It really is a brilliant track!✌🏼🇬🇧🇺🇲💯
Why does no-one mention Keep The Dream Alive? When I first heard it I just thought it should've been a single. Maybe do a radio edit but would've sounded great on radio as it's such an uplighting song. Also Don't Go Away should have been a single worldwide (not just in America and Japan). It would've seen Be Here Now's sales go through the roof if it became a proper radio hit around the world.
I like 'Be Here Now', but listened to 'The Master plan' a whole lot more. A lot of great songs on there. Be Here Now has some great songs, but some are to long.
You referred to Champagne Supernova at the start, but that was never a single either ( in the UK, the only place that counts!), & is my favourite ever song in the history of music. I don’t agree with Lord Don’t Slow Me Down. Not being on an album is irrelevant (Whatever was a hit without being on an album), it was however a download only single. Nowhere near being one of my faves though anyway.
@@NickCinoMusic hopefully the album version. The radio edit is an abomination, cuts out just as it’s about to hit it’s peak! The video is one of my faves too, just cos it fits the song so well (although I would have to say Importance of Being Idle is my favourite vid).
@RandomnessTube. Trying to avoid copyright issues with my videos so I don't usually do clips but if you watch my other videos I sing/play the tunes on my guitar

These songs deserved more recognition
I Hope, I Think, I know seems to be a popular one people are mentioning! Great song
Bring It On Down
Step Out
It’s Getting Better Man
Let’s All Make Believe
Where Did It All Go Wrong
Acquiesce! That should have been a single.
Totally, one of their best!

1. lets all make believe
2. shock of the lightning
3. go let it out
4. do you know what i mean
5. lyla
"D'you know what I mean" is fuckin GOLDEN

Let's All Make Believe would have made a great single, shame it was only a b-side! Great list!
@@NickCinoMusic yeah... I think that for most of their songs

Round Are Way is so underrated, such a catchy chorus!
I’m 22 so like many of my generation Oasis fans a lot of the 2000s songs kind of get disregarded. I heard roll it over for the first time at Knebworth 22 and it absolutely blew me away, now firmly among my favourite songs by any band. Yes! Anyone know why Round are way and D'yer Wanna Be A Spaceman weren't on The Masterplan?
My list would probably be:
1. The Masterplan
2. (It's Good) To Be Free
3. Where Did It All Go Wrong?
4. Sunday Morning Call
5. All Around the World
Great list! "Where Did It All Go Wrong" is so underrated, it could have been a huge hit!
All Around the World was released as a single in the UK and got to no.1 in the charts.
Interesting take from the comments, all the Oasis fans from different countries

The band had the magic and Noel knew how to write a hit song.
Sunday Morning call was released even though it’s poor.
@@PhonykingOM that's one dull choice of a single, pretty pointless. Comedown songs don't really fly with Oasis.
Let’s All Make Believe not being on SOTSOG is baffling.
I know, so odd it's not on there, would have made the album way better
My list is (one from each album)
Bring it on down
Cast no shadow
I hope I think I know
Roll it over
Force of nature
Mucky fingers
Bag it up
Bag It up and Mucky Fingers, nice picks!

2. The Masterplan
3. Its gettin better man
4. Love like a bomb

@alf23524 Falling Down is a cool pick! Love seeing It's Gettin Better Man too, such a great song!
Falling Down got to no.10 in the UK singles chart.
I think Bring it on Down and Headshrinker are songs that could have been big hits. Those are two of their songs I regularly listen to.
Totally, I wish the punkier songs like those got more attention in the mainstream
For me : Let's All Make Believe
A great choice!
