Whenever I go to a formal function with a bar, they generally have Maker’s Mark and Old Grand Dad Bonded. I like the OGD!
I enjoy the Makers Mark Cast Strength and the Old Granddad 114 …. 👍
The only one I have come across is the OF100 and you are right. I like it a lot but not sure if it is under rated or not mostly because there seems to be a lot of people that like it. I would take it over WT101. One thing is for sure and it is a great value just like the OF 86 is.
I prefer the OF 100 over the WT 101.
I'm probably in your camp on that one too! Cheers 🥃
All day!!!
Both are fantastic, but I prefer the 101…funny how pallets are all so different!
One of the fun parts of whiskey! You like what you like! Cheers 🥃
Yup I agree, both are good, but old forester 100 is great!
Great list! There’s a few on here that I’m inspired to try. Cheers 🥃
Nice list! I don’t care for Makers regulars or 46 much but the cask strength and store picks are really nice! The Remus is pretty good especially from Sam’s for 16.00 a bottle:) 100% agree on the Michters it’s a really nice easy anytime pour! 114 is always a hitter neat or mixer:) 4 Roses is nice!
Cheers Nick thanks for watching and sharing your opinion! 🥃
I pick up OGD 114 for $20.99. I pick it up quite often.
Great price for a really nice budge friendly whiskey that punches well above its belt! Cheers 🥃
I love the Remus cask strength single barrels and OGD 114! Cheer!
As do I! Cheers and thanks for watching 🥃
I think the chatter is down in all of these great whiskies is because they are available. You say they will be removed you'll get the uproar and they will no longer be underrated. I've tried and loved them all, if you are new to whiskey you have to try these as core flavors.
Couldn't agree with you more Ben! Cheers 🥃
Yesss, the Four Roses SBS is such a good value bottle. They just go too quickly in our home!
Hey buddy, man, I couldn't agree with you more! It's a great bourbon and extremely to drink. It does go quickly, no doubt. Thanks for watching and your comment! 🥃
Remus is could be a daily drinker for me. Love the hug at the end. All old Forester is delicious. Like you said the profile for O.F. is what I enjoy. It was nice to meet you hope your golf was also good like your channel.
Hey James, Thanks for watching, and yes, it definitely was great meeting you, keep in touch. Here is my email address mybourbonjourney01@gmail.com
Have to get you into our Whiskey club if you're interested in something like that?
Nice call outs esp the Michter's. So few good, low proof options (for visiting newbies and summer day drinking : ) MM CS has been a big let down. Maybe I got a bad btl but it's so hot and harsh. My Remus store pick is incredible. Could def see how it's overshadowed by the Repeal. Maybe one I'd add is Baker's 107. For ~$60 (NY) it packs incredible complexity balance. Cheer's dude.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! Cheers 🥃
I must be living right, because have all of these in the rotation. Need to buy another 114 since its getting low. Do prefer the OGD BIB due its heavy citrus influence.
You're living the good life! Smart man! Cheers and thanks for watching 🥃
@@mybourbonjourney Thx
Thank for the great video. One of your older videos on Michters got me to try the bourbon but now I think I need to try the Whiskey! I'll let you know how it is
Hey Dan, that's awesome to hear! I'm guessing you enjoyed the Michter's Bourbon! Please let me know what you think of the American Whiskey. Appreciate you watching and commenting, Cheers 🥃
MM Cask Strength is very good and only about $35!
I'm a fan, too! Cheers 🥃
The Michters American is a go to summer sipper for me and a great example of how a low proof whiskey can have great flavor. Cheers
Agree with you 100% I'm working on my favorite summer bourbon sippers video right now! Cheers 🥃
Wilderness trail wheated bib is in my mind way better that makers cask. Makers cask like 46 bucks here. Spend extra 10 bucks get wilderness trail.
Thanks for sharing 🥃
All good calls
Appreciate you watching! Cheers 🥃
Love the Michter’s American Whiskey and it is the only Michter’s I have. I prefer the Maker’s Mark 46 Cask Strength over MM Cask Strength. I have 1 bottle of OGD 114 open and 4 bottles bunkered. I found them for $19.99 in WI. I do enjoy Remus, but do not go back to it often. OF 100 is solid. Great episode! I think Cooper’s Craft 100 is underrated.
Try the MM Cask Strength French Oaked red label, it's terrific!
@@jolkraeremeark6949 that is the Maker’s Mark 46 Cask Strength, the one with the red label.
I too think tge Coopers craft 100 is Underrated, wish it was a bit more available though. Thanks for watching and commenting, Cheers 🥃
@@davevogelsang6791 just so we're on the same page, it has the red label with white writing.
@@jolkraeremeark6949 Yes
Will open my Michter's AW on my birthday
Happy Birthday and let me know what you think after you get into it! Cheers 🥃
I have all of these bottles except for the michters , enjoy them as often as I can, good list .
I'm glad to hear, and thanks for watching and commenting, Cheers 🥃
Have a few bottles of the ogd 114, have never tried it. Guess I'll have to now.
OGD Bonded is equally great! IMO Cheers!🥃
@pressman1788 I've tried the bib it's good. I've got some bottles of the 114 when there was talk about not making anymore. Just never got around to trying it.
Open that bad boy! Come back and let myself and everyone know what you think of 114. Cheers 🥃
Old Grand dad 114 is around 35🦌 in my area. It's still a good deal at that price.
Great review. I really need to try that Old Forester 100. I keep passing it. Thank you for the info. 🎉🎉
Thanks for watching and your comment! Definitely give 5he signature 100 a try, it's a great bourbon. Cheers 🥃
I agree with your list. I believe 4 Roses small batch select is overlooked mainly due to price. I prefer the single barrel offering and it’s price point is a better deal in my opinion
I can appreciate that! Can go either way on tge SB Select or Single Barrel depending on the day however, for me I enjoy the Small Batch Select a tad more. But, at the end of the day, you drink what you like. Cheers and thanks for watching and your comment! 🥃
Awesome list Scott!!!
My faves are the Michter's and Maker's. Gatta try the Remus...sounds like some tasty juice. Cheers Scott!!!
Good stuff! Cheers Archie! 🥃
OGD 100 & 114 are amazing for cocktails too
The 114 sure would make for a stiff one that's for sure but I lik3 how you think! Lol cheers 🥃
Great video Scott.
I agree that a lot of those bottles get over looked. I personally really like the four roses small batch select, and as you point out there is not much talk about it. Cheers🥃
Cheers buddy and thanks for watching, I really appreciate it 🙏
I have fallen back in love with Four Roses and now seem to keep a single barrel and a SB Select on my bar. Wish I could find a cast strength single barrel. Thanks and good list.
Cheers and thanks for watching and your comment! 🥃
Remus cask strength is fantastic.
It sure is! Cheers 🥃
Could you compare the Michters line up? Bourbon vs American Malt vs sour mash
I think you nailed it. Shhhh the first rule of Four Roses is we don't talk about Four Roses! 😆 Cheers!
I'll keep quiet 🤫 🙂
I found some nice drinkers from watching YT videos. I have been raised on Jim Beam and have found my current daily in Old Tub! I like BIB bourbon and Old Grand Dad might be the next on my buy list. I am in Ohio and Buffalo Trace is hard to find. My local store just got 2 cases and I was out of town bourbon hunting elsewhere and of coarse they sold out!!!
These bourbons are a perfect reason why you juat don't have to chase these days
That Four Roses is one of my favorite bourbons. I don't think a lot of people try the small batch and don't move up the later to get the better bottles. I still see a lot of attention sent to Old Forester but there might be some brand confusion around the 100 and the 1897 BiB. Enjoyed the video. I do need to try the Remis.
That is a very strong possibility! Cheers buddy and thanks for sharing 🥃
Good list, I agree . All very good ,but overlooked
Thanks for watching! Cheers 🥃
Great list - can’t argue with any!
Cheers and thanks for watching, I really appreciate it 🥃
Trying to find something for a Bourbon Snob boss that he hasn't tried.
I don't do bourbon or whiskey.
Maybe give Found North (on line) a try, he may not have had anything from them. Or you can try Four Gate. Both od these are higher end whiskeys. Or if you can find him something from Ben Holladay a Rickhouse Proof. Those may be something different and unique. If you have any other questions, let me know. Cheers 🥃
I have to get back on some of these. I think with OF 100 it shot up in price to $45 in my area last year and for that price I just switched to Cooper’s 100 but it’s back down to $35. I really want the others though, perfect for starting the night off before pouring some M&J picks
Yes sir! I like how you roll! Cheers buddy 👍
Michter’s has really increased in price where I am (ME) so it’s less on my radar for what it is but OGD114 is pretty available and not over priced. I like high rye stuff but have never been able to get into anything offerings from Four Roses. Great recommendations overall though!
Thanks for sharing! Cheers 🥃
Mitchers sour mash and american whiskeys are "non mashbill whiskeys" meaning they cannot put a mashbill (bourbon/rye/malt) before the word whiskey on the label because they are aging the whiskey in used barrels. You must age whiskey in a brand new barrel to put the mashbill on the label for american made whiskeys. So they use the terms "sour mash and american" as ways to label different products that are aged in used barrels.
Thanks for the info! 🥃
That's a really great list , other than the Michter's which is not worth the $40 plus price in my area. I would probably replace it with Russell's reserve 10 year.
I'm a big fan of the Russell's 10 just didn't make The list as I don't think it's one that's Underrated, the word is out in that one, IMO. Cheers
Man I wish I liked bourbon more. So much less expensive than single malt scotch.
Get after it! 🥃
OGD114 is definitely not under rated where I'm at. It's always sold out at multiple stores I go to. If anything I'd say it's over rated down here.
Shhhhh! Let's not talk about OGD 114! ;-)
Lol, I know! Cheers buddy 🥃
Great list Scott! If only the Michter’s was a bit higher proof!
I think it is a flavor (vanilla) bomb for the proof it is. My favorite American whiskey for sure.
@@wadeward3391 dang, I really need to grab a bottle
I think the lower proof is honestly what makes them a bit Underrated considering the flavor that comes from a lower proof bourbon or whiskey. I'd like a higher proof one too though. Cheers and thanks for watching and commenting
@@mybourbonjourney thanks what I’m hearing! I gotta pick that one up sometime!
OGD 114 is easily one of the best "cheap" bourbons gathering dust on the shelf. Let the other goobers raise hell searching for Blanton's or Weller. OGB 114 is better than both so I don't make that mistake personally.
It's definitely one that's underrated if you ask me. Everyone wants a high proof bourbon, and for not a lot of money, this one is right there on the shelf for you
wish i could land a old grand dad 114...lol
Darn you Canada! Lol 😆 🤣 😂
@@mybourbonjourney lmao. Send Olive oil. Wink wink.Haha
👍
👍🥃 right back at ya!
