  • here is the second part of the Silent Hektik (electronic ignition) install that covers the part that I forgot to film for the first video. I explain how to determine Top Dead Center on a Airhead engine (BMW R90/6)

Hello Heiko. I am planning the installation of a Silent Hektik following your videos. Two short questions, if you allow me. You started with the two curves at 8 and 8 but in the last video it seems that you have changed them, what curves do you recommend for my 1973 R90-S? for a calm driving it would be the same as for your R90 -6. My second question is about the placement of the electronic module, why have you changed its position? did it hit the gas tank?
Thanks for your videos and greetings from Spain

I will get back to you as soon as I get home. I need to look at my bike. It has been so long since the install, I don't even remember what I am running it at right now.

I still haven't had a chance to look at my bike but I did look at the SH manual. The rev-limiter is set to 7000rpm, the adjuster is set to #3. The advance curve I currently run set to #7 which gives me a total advance of °32.
I changed the way of mounting the electronic module because of space. The first way of mounting it was rubbing on the bottom of the tank. If you want some detailed pictures I think I can take the tank off and send you some.

@@HeikosGarage Thank you very much, that is very kind of you. I am waiting to receive the SH and your information gives me greater security for its installation.
      Again, thank you very much.
