This song hits hard for me lately.. 39 yrs old diagnosed with a brain disease and one foot in my grave. But my 16 yr old is about to have a baby so at least i can feel the joy of being grandma before i go 😮😢😊 Rocking out to Silverchair until my last breath. ❤

Plus Daniel Johns was only 16/17 when he wrote what would become Silverchair's debut album. You hear their sound development changing through every album... "Diorama" is wonderful, it's "Freak Show" Silverchair sounding kind of glam rock.
@Elizabeth Walsh Yeah... Pearl Jam became a discount Neil Young & Crazy Horse or a very lazy 70's The Who... plus Eddie Vedder's voice is not for everyone (I personaly don't like it). Nirvana recorded their last album mostly to sound "anti-Nevermind" so it was not purely about writing an album, then Kurt passed away. I think I understand what you are saying.

Actually, many songs from the nineties sound better than today, especially if it's rock. Not nostalgic, but the great producers and engineers are fundamental for a quality recording.
This was around 1996-1997... 2000 was neon ballroom when they started to mix things up too much... I know because i remember i bought all their casettes, fave band growing up...

How these guys got so much hate ill never understand. Daniel is not just a pretty face he is soooo taleted and the fact that he doesn't believe it is crazy to me. Beautiful boy frayed at the edges and so full of emotion.

Well...To be fair...Some of the best music ever written was not appreciated. People are too simple in their taste for music like this. Most people like simplicity and also don't like to feel sadness when they listen to music. WE love it. But most don't. It is criminal that this band didn't get the recognition they most surely earned.

Just over 20 years ago I was diagnosed with cancer, I had years of tests ( X-rays and neuro and chemotherapy, I've been chopped from head to toe riddled with malignant melanoma, my last brain operation I was told to call my loved ones and say goodbye ( in my head I thought, hell know, I'll be saying hello) which is exactly what I did 20 years on some people are amazed I'm still alive ( but I fought hard to stay alive) but sometimes I wish I could live in a cemetery!...
Old times , old memories .thats how i remember this song . No only The things that happened in my life but also the innocent people who has leaved this world. We all live in a cemetery of emotions. 🇵🇹

Galera nem sonhem que o Johns já decretou a morte oficial da banda. Ele disse que o Chair não fazia bem pra ele e não quer reviver tudo o que ele sentia, tanto que na finaleira já nem tocava mais algumas músicas, do Frogstomp não tocava mais nenhuma, ele já tava de saco cheio da galera do "grunge" pq ele nunca disse ser grunge, nunca posicionou o Chair como grunge... Ele tá numa vibe bem diferente agora...
Vi uma entrevista do Daniel de 2018. Não voltará nunca mais precisamos nos conformar.
