    As much as I agree that explosive power is beneficial, I don't agree that being able to lift heavy is a waste of time. It comes down to your training goals and what it is you're trying to achieve. If you want to see explosive power coupled with raw strength, then you need to look no further than the strongman competitions.

      The best of both

      @@AKVT-uz2gj I'm training legs and cardio overall by simply running 3-4 kilometers per day. That should be enough to not increase muscle mass in legs and maintain good amount of strength in them. Sprint on edge of your running capabilities would work even better.

    • @AKVT-uz2gj
      @AKVT-uz2gj Рік тому +11

      That’s awesome but incorporating Weighted squats will make you a stronger runner and increase your overall strength
      Don’t by into the myth that training your legs is a bad thing for calisthenics
      There was a study showing that one group did backsquats while the other group did not
      They took a baseline of a Run
      I forget exactly how long the run was but the group who squatted decreased their time significantly compared to the group who only ran
      I’m a Olympic Lifter and I incorporate Planche and Front lever training into my program
      Short CF metcons for conditioning
      I squat 6 days a week
      Obviously I pull from the ground everyday too
      Take it as you will

    That explosive pull up put a lot of pressure on the elbow cartilage. If you want to do it, take supplementations to protect them or else, you will end up with painful elbow in the near future.

    • @gmaxsfoodfitness3035
      @gmaxsfoodfitness3035 9 місяців тому

      Your body can protect itself if you develop it over time and allow it to recover. After months of doing pull ups, push ups, dips ect. a few explosive pull ups are no big deal. I'm speaking from experience. By the time I started doing them they were easy and I NEVER had elbow pain. You only do them until you can't do a rep with good form (the video literally says you only need to do 1-5 to get results so be safe). But sure it's good to get some collagen in your system from sea moss or other foods (avoid the synthetic powders) and pineapple will help with pain and repair/recovery.

    • @stephenmichael3211
      @stephenmichael3211 9 місяців тому

      @@gmaxsfoodfitness3035 I was a proffesional food and supplementations advisor for so many years. I've seen plenty who said they are active, thats why they do not need supplementations because the more active they're, the healthier they'll became, and ended up worse than those who never done any exercise in their life.
      Imagine, two different cars, one is a racing car, one is a regular car. Which one do you think need more attention and more maintenance? The same as people, the more you're using your body, the more supplementations you'll need for your body to repair damages from overusing your body.

    I noticed that if I do fast, explosive repetitions, the load is too high-to example push-ups and with 10-12 kg dumbbells,then after exercise, my boxing speed decreases. If I do the last 1-3 repetitions slowly, after the exercise the boxing speed increases. Explosive ,fast repetitions are good to blood circulation, energy, muscle pumping, ligaments,etc. but 1-3 slow repetitions must also be practiced to speed with bare arms....

    You said deadlift isn't useful except for moving furniture... 😂😂 tell me you know nothing about strength, without telling me you're tiny and weak. Deadlift is the most accurate gauge of strength that there is and helps in tons of things. It helps in MMA, pushing cars out of traffic, building anything, bringing in all of the groceries in one trip, carrying sick or injured creatures. A 200-lb deadlift is really terrible, too.

  • @v_it0797
    @v_it0797 Рік тому +8

    Bro no front, but I think explosive power is also depending on power and I would say power has definetely sth to do with strength. To say that deadlift is not important for explosive power, is like saying grip strength is not important for bouldering. You also come far without the other but they definetely help each other in the process.

    "deadlift is not going to be useful anywhere accept...bla bla bla and I'm not even a powerlifter." Apparently speaking from inexperience. As misguided as it is in implementation, there's a reason why the U.S. Army now requires a "deadlift" in it's evaluation for physical fitness now. Strength of any kind is useful. Explosive power is great for agility and kinetics and I'm speaking as a former fighter and soldier, but it also has it's limitations, by the law of large numbers it increases the chance of injury. Nothing had for nothing.
