      Been doing muscle ups for awhile, although i've been struggling to do them consecutively. For whatever reason i just can't manage to do more than one even though i've had occassions where i have done 2 or 3 in a row. I know i have the strength so i've just been focusing really hard on what i can do mechanically to be able to do reps and sets of muscle ups. I agree with both of you guys, most people never feel what it's like to be ABOVE the bar, but once you finally manage your first muscle up you feel so incredible and just want to throw your hands in the air... except you can't 😂 It really does make you feel like you're on top of the world.
      Anyway i'm still on my muscle up journey to figuring out how to do them consecutively hence why i found this video. That said i've not found a single video with tips on how to link together muscle ups, only videos on how to do them in general. So my journey continues to figure out the secret to consecutive muscle ups

      Oh Yeah Yeah warrior level 967 true, I’m just a teenager and after watching an abundance of tutorial videos on the muscle up I managed to get it at somewhere between a month and a half and two months, admittedly there is still a slight kip but it’s possible with determination, eating right, and doing progressions properly

      I do believe it really is a getting a feel for it. Today I walked into the gym did five of them! Unfortunately my gym does not have a straight bar so I'm using a slightly angled variation which I learned is dangerous. So I will be heading to Home Depot to build my own bar in the backyard. I will continue to train this until I can perform at least 10 strict muscle ups. After that,being able to hang on a 10-foot rim @ 5'9" and 500 lb deadlift. Still got a lot of work to do but setting goals and accomplishing them, it's probably one of the best feelings you can give yourself. keep up the great work man!! looking forward to the progress

Your power to bodyweight ratio is excellent. What you can achieve on a wall is well beyond what an average Joe could achieve. Walk down the street an look at the average dude. I am in my late 40s 90kg and 6 ft 3 inches, I could barely do a pull up a year ago, I have had to train my ass off to hit 15. You can easily do 10. I just did my first proper muscle up today and i am on cloud 9..thanks for making it simple.
      I never had any problem with strength but would never go above chest.. Thenx tells to do a lat pull down that was not working for me. I was also making the 2 mistakes:
      Thumb on top of bar and
      Knees not touching the chest, i was trying to start the knees towards an LSit but today i changed that..
      At first did the chicken wing and after a few more tries cwas able to do 1 muscleup with good form(not the best)
      Was stuck on it for so long. Thanks mate.

The only 2 things you have to do to make muscle ups easier is try to do pull ups as high as possible and do dips on 1 bar (like when you're supposed to push up from the bar), talking from personal experience.

    For anyone trying to learn how to muscle up the biggest tip I could give you is to work on the negative part of the muscle up just as much as the pulling up part of it. Jump up and get yourself held up above the bar with your arms pushed straight down holding yourself up above the bar, and then slowly lower yourself down to the ground very slowly. Doing this helped me achieve my first muscle up in just about a week of practicing this multiple times a day. The negative part of the movement made such a huge difference for me.

    • @GeekClimber
      @GeekClimber  4 роки тому

      To be honest I never understand why doing negatives help. Say if you are learning to swim, you learn with the help of a kickboard instead of swimming backwards.
