3 days ago i was able to perform my first muscle up! You won't believe how awesome that moment was! I tried for more than 3 years! And then one day suddenly i tried and was able to do it! My hand was shaking, my heart was beating like i have been doing sprinting! Go for it guys! Muscle up will unlock a new level to your workout!
Huge congrats bro! I can totally relate to your joy! It was truly a magical feeling when I got myself up the bar.
Why it took so long ? Not training correctly ? I want to do them too !! Training hard now
CARL WongTW i was able to make a muscle up after 2 weeks. Now i make 6-10 in a row. I don‘t know what this dude was doing for 3 years but it‘s not that hard. U just have to be patient and u will easily be able to make a muscle up
BRO YOU BOOSTED MY MOTIVATION!! 💪
Been doing muscle ups for awhile, although i've been struggling to do them consecutively. For whatever reason i just can't manage to do more than one even though i've had occassions where i have done 2 or 3 in a row. I know i have the strength so i've just been focusing really hard on what i can do mechanically to be able to do reps and sets of muscle ups. I agree with both of you guys, most people never feel what it's like to be ABOVE the bar, but once you finally manage your first muscle up you feel so incredible and just want to throw your hands in the air... except you can't 😂 It really does make you feel like you're on top of the world.
Anyway i'm still on my muscle up journey to figuring out how to do them consecutively hence why i found this video. That said i've not found a single video with tips on how to link together muscle ups, only videos on how to do them in general. So my journey continues to figure out the secret to consecutive muscle ups
A climber isn’t the average guy because you already have forearm strength and grip strength from all the climbing
Oh Yeah Yeah warrior level 967 true, I’m just a teenager and after watching an abundance of tutorial videos on the muscle up I managed to get it at somewhere between a month and a half and two months, admittedly there is still a slight kip but it’s possible with determination, eating right, and doing progressions properly
My physical talent is way below average. Almost everyone can’t believe that I can only climbing V6s after 10+ years. I bet for most people if they put in the same amount of time in fitness like I did they would be way better than me.

Great job dude! I am working on the non kipping version but it might take me a while to get it.
I do believe it really is a getting a feel for it. Today I walked into the gym did five of them! Unfortunately my gym does not have a straight bar so I'm using a slightly angled variation which I learned is dangerous. So I will be heading to Home Depot to build my own bar in the backyard. I will continue to train this until I can perform at least 10 strict muscle ups. After that, being able to hang on a 10-foot rim @ 5'9" and 500 lb deadlift. Still got a lot of work to do but setting goals and accomplishing them, it's probably one of the best feelings you can give yourself. keep up the great work man!! looking forward to the progress
Pure dedication, no matter the circumstances💆🏾♂️!
Ty for posting this!!!
why would you ever wear slippers, I feel like unconsciously you try to move your feet in a way the slippers don't fall off, not fully focusing on your workout

@@Magerquark you mean "subconsciously" not "unconsciously".
You are already so strong doing pull ups with ease.
Haha you could be right but whenever I walk into a gym, I see so many strong people doing crazy workouts.
@@GeekClimber Remember this is a move that is part skill based and part power to bodyweight based. As a climber you have already honed your strength to master YOUR bodyweight. Your power to bodyweight ratio is excellent. What you can achieve on a wall is well beyond what an average Joe could achieve. Walk down the street an look at the average dude. I am in my late 40s 90kg and 6 ft 3 inches, I could barely do a pull up a year ago, I have had to train my ass off to hit 15. You can easily do 10. You have super low body fat and you have great pulling power. However credit to you for hitting your goal, it wasn't easy and the pain was real. Big respect.
It still takes a while to get the form down and everything for sure though! I can do 25 straight pull ups but I’m still working on good muscle up form
Learning History probably both
baz hennessy You can be that disrepectful only behind ur screen, fcking clown
Awesome video, i was laughing and getting inspired for mostly of it, thx for sharing.
You're such an inspiration. I've been doing a lot of bodyweight training recently, and being able to do 30 pull-ups but no muscle up was really making me rethink how strong I actually was. I've never watched any of your videos before, but seeing you overcome this obstacle while wanting to give up made me smile.
Tf 30 pull ups and no muscle up? Hows that possible
@@gabriellu5463 6 months ago I was mainly just training solely muscle endurance, so I was able to do 30 pullups in full range of motion and a lot of high rep sets. I didn't really know the technique for the muscle-up and I wasn't really lifting anything heavy or doing anything explosive. I've started doing weighted chin-ups since then, but if you're wondering, I was finally able to do my first muscle up about a month after I wrote this comment.
@@Pantrixo Oh i see congratulations on your muscle up though!!
Great job man, i'm also working towards muscle ups inspired by ironically both magnus and mike so you're video has added fuel to the fire!! I've only recently started general exercise having lost over 5st in weight in the last year, mainly through nutritional changes and lots of walking/swimming, but i've got my pull up bar installed, can do about 4 pull ups so far and hope to have muscle ups down before the end of next month :)

I just did my first proper muscle up today and i am on cloud 9..thanks for making it simple.
I never had any problem with strength but would never go above chest.. Thenx tells to do a lat pull down that was not working for me. I was also making the 2 mistakes:
Thumb on top of bar and
Knees not touching the chest, i was trying to start the knees towards an LSit but today i changed that..
At first did the chicken wing and after a few more tries cwas able to do 1 muscleup with good form(not the best)
Was stuck on it for so long. Thanks mate.

@@asdfasdfwae Well done pal!
Back in high school i went from 4 basic pull ups to 8 muscle ups in a month although i did train 3 hours, 6 times a week. The only 2 things you have to do to make muscle ups easier is try to do pull ups as high as possible and do dips on 1 bar (like when you're supposed to push up from the bar), talking from personal experience.
Dude u need to train 7 days a week...
geek or not, you are a inspiration bro. I don't know how i let myself down, from 15 pulls ups to not being able to do even 1. 25 years, 2 kids, a half baked career, feasting and no weight training, that's how. I will get my 15 pull ups back!!

WOW How inspirational!!! THANKS!
You’re welcome! I still remember the moment when I first made it!
For anyone trying to learn how to muscle up the biggest tip I could give you is to work on the negative part of the muscle up just as much as the pulling up part of it. Jump up and get yourself held up above the bar with your arms pushed straight down holding yourself up above the bar, and then slowly lower yourself down to the ground very slowly. Doing this helped me achieve my first muscle up in just about a week of practicing this multiple times a day. The negative part of the movement made such a huge difference for me.
To be honest I never understand why doing negatives help. Say if you are learning to swim, you learn with the help of a kickboard instead of swimming backwards.
@@GeekClimber I dont know tbh, I just know I wasnt really getting anywhere until I started doing the negative part and my progress bumped up so fast after that. Just a strange way our bodies work I guess.
@@GeekClimber that is not a relevant analogy
@@GeekClimber like your swimming.
A negative would be doing it laying on a board.
So you can flop your arms around and learn how to do it
After that you get those tubes arlund your arm or try the technique in a kiddy pool.
Youre now swimming

Thats definitely green, maybe leaning on teal.
