I've had the same experience in CT with VDB splitting at the eye. In my experience, it's just not the best here. although...I tried a Nero 600m in Rhode Island, with the same 6b humid climate, and it was one of the best figs I've ever had...in other news..I'll hold onto my LSU pruple, 2022 is year three..
I have the same issue with White Triana, but looks like you are picking it way too early. Allow it to hang 10-14 days until it has many dark sugar spots. Then it tastes better. It holds up well to rain so try it!
Hello, I’m in Ontario. I just bought two figs off an old Italian lady. She has two kinds white and black, cuttings off a the 40 year old mother plants! I would love to figure out the variety. I Believe she brought them from Italy. The mother plants are in a green house
I had Improved Celeste, MBVS, Pastilliere, Petite Aubique, and Black Greek in ground. I’ve done different things in the winter. This year I didn’t do anything
Pete, awesome video. Love watching the fig videos in winter!
LSU produced some really great figs. Hollier & Tiger are my favorite.

It will be hard to tell. There are many different varieties
Which variety do you have in ground? I’m in NoVa as well. Looking at maybe putting some in ground. Do you do anything special to protect in winter?

great videos as always thx
How does Hollier do in the rain?
I thought it was okay in the rain. Not #1 but definitely not the worst
maybe lsu tiger isn't vigorous enough like other varieties
Do you grow florea/Michurinska 10?
No, I sold it a couple of years ago
Hollier is pronounced "Ole-YAY". It is a fairly common last name in south Louisiana.
Yes, thank you for that clarification
Hollier is pronounced ole yay. Seriously everyone from Louisiana
