Ive caught them from the base, all the way to the end. Its mainly about the tides and watching the current, you can walk 100 yards and the water conditions will be a complete 180 from the previous spot.
@@Le_Fish29 I generally set my bobber stop at 5' and then my leader can range from 2-4'. When you get bit or see your float swimming off, don't set the hook right away! unless you see it drain and stay under for a solid 3 seconds.. let em eat!
Very cool video!!! Stumbled across your channel on facebook and a very cool channel it is!!! Congratulations on your PB!! I look forward to checking out your channel some more!!!! If you get time you can check out my channel if you like!!! Thankyou and tight lines!!!
been snatching them like that for yrs and its always as fun as the first trip...especially with a bonus lingcod every so often...I use all braid because of that . broke off on many nice size lings with mono shocker..get expensive though.
I thought it was a ling right as it was coming up for second.. lol then when I realized what it was I was shocked! I can't wait for next spring. love me some lingcod. thanks for watching! -Adam
anchovies work really good! but certain areas you get hung up a lot.. so its easier and more cost efficient for me to use jig and grub, especially since I pour my own jigs.
markoabo smaller tides are easier for jetty guys perhaps THATS why the wives tail, but, as with most fish especially structure related ambush hunters the biggest tides are the best whether it's striped bass or ling cod or rock fish, anything that hides at structure and ambushes bait as the current brings it over them will have best fishing for quantity and quality n the bigger tides. but it can be lot harder on jetty fisherman in bigger tides because so much slippery Rock between u and the fish lol but yeah that wives tails false the BIGGER tides are unequivocally the best for both quantity and quality
yes, plenty of times. you have to be willing to move a lot! even going back to the same spot multiple times in a day.. and then some days you can catch them all in a single spot.
Great video bud.🔥

Down in Southern California there is a strict moratorium on Black Seabass, is it open season in Oregon?
They are two different species. This is a black rockfish whereas in SoCal we have giant seabass. Hope that clarifies
Will the rockfish also take live bait or do you need to use a plastic worm?

It's a huge one!Cool!
I'm Japanese, so I'll say it in Japanese!
omedetougozaimasu☺️
Are you using braid/heavier test line because of the possibility of a lingcod?
Can you do more videos of rock fish techniques
hell yeah man is this the jetty at tillamook?
What jetty is this?? I've been trying to find more good spots on the coast and it looks like this is a great one
Dude awesome catch! We do have some good fish on the shore.
wow! Awesome video man! I've heard fishing smaller tide changes is the best. Any thoughts? Thanks, be well and fish on! Mark
yes, small to moderate tides are better. it just so happen to be really big tides that week. lol

yes, plenty of times. you have to be willing to move a lot! even going back to the same spot multiple times in a day.. and then some days you can catch them all in a single spot.
