Thank you SO much for doing this work. I just discovered you today and plan to join. I recently experienced a bad season of OCD and I didn’t really understand what it was until now. I had this happen once in college but it seemed to go away on its own but I’m seeing now there were hints of it. Anyway thank you I can’t wait to join!

Is it normal for ocd to be intrusive images over and over and over like every second, I feel ba d because I didn’t push the thought out I just continue to think about it but I felt disgust/discomfort.

Yes, that can happen and when it’s constant, it’s because of a compulsion. Which is why exposure in response prevention works so well.

@@MyOCDCoach okay I thought so, I will like also notice my intrusive thoughts will come in full sentences like recently it will be a question and then a bad thought right after and I’m like wait I don’t hear anyone that has ocd talk about that or like my intrusive thoughts will come in slower then usual so I’m like wait does that mean it was intrusive or does that mean it’s true I don’t know if it’s normal to experience those symptoms with ocd.

Is it possible to recover from OCD without the exposure therapy?

No, without learning ERP, you won't recover. It's the only evidence-based treatment for OCD.

What would you say to someone who is scared of ERP because it would mean going against their compulsions which is what stops the bad things from happening?
