    Man hearing all about the DeRozan saga again makes me truly miss him, any true Raptors fan knows how big a role he played in getting the championship here eventually. So sad he couldnt be here for it. Thanks Demar, Toronto loves you!!

    That Kawhi shot wasn't just series or playoff run saver, it was literally franchise and Masais job saver

    • @jas1565
      @jas1565 2 роки тому +166

      Lol Masai has the most secure job in the NBA.. which is why he could take a risk like trading DeMar for Kawhi. He didn’t save the franchise or Masai’s job. Trading DeMar for Kawhi was a last ditch attempt at a title before a planned rebuild. If they won a title and Kawhi stayed, great. If they didn’t win and/or Kawhi left, Masai could move with the rebuild he already had planned.

      2017's mls champions Toronto FC (Tfc). i would say that lifted the city's spirit and made Torontonian's more proud of their city. 2019 took it to another level.
      It has always been Hockey, baseball, basketball in that order, but the tradition has changed in recent years, with Baseball falling out of favour in the grassroots level and the maple leafs incompetent woes in the past decade. The order is shifting to Basketball, Hockey, Football (Soccer) then baseball.

    Growing up in Toronto, I always watched big games and heard talk of basketball here and there but it wasnt until 2019 that I REALLY fell in love with the sport. There was talk of the Raptors seriously being able to acquire Superstar talent, something Toronto is not used to in any sport (Maybe minus Hockey sometimes..) Having to let go of Demar who grew as a man here and loved this city with all his heart was tough for us to swallow but it needed to be done and we all knew it.
    During our run, you couldnt go ANYWHERE in the city without seeing something Raptors related. Kawhi could eat anywhere for free, people who nvr talked sports in their life were all wearing coming to games and to Jurassic Park (outdoor watching zone for games) wearing raptors apparel, young, old, black, white, asian, it was awesome to see. For a year it felt like Toronto was unified and everyone was happy.
    Kawhi was a great mentor for our core aswell. Freddy, OG, Siakam all learned alot from just 1 year with Kawhi and it showed.

    Awesome video I fulljoyed this just as the other documentaries on the 2019 Raptors nba championship win. As a born Toronto native it was 26 years of not seeing a professional sport team in Toronto win a major title since 1993 Blue Jays. I hope the Leafs learn from the Raptors one day and get back to finals and win since 1967

    As a Raps fan from day 1 the 2019 Championship run was incredible. Raptors took care of the Magic in 5 games in the first round. Then a tough series against Philly. Kawhi's game 7 shot against the Sixers was magical. Being down 2-0 to the Bucks in the ECF and then reeling off 4 wins in a row to win the series. Finally, against the Warriors in the Finals splitting the first 2 games in Toronto and then winning the next 3 out of 4 games. The 1 loss being in Toronto and the 3 wins being in Golden State, which resulted in winning the Championship in game 6. Great memories that'll last for the rest of my life.

    The Milwaukee series gets under appreciated. The sizers series was just a classic, and so much drama came of the finals between injuries and obviously winning the title that no one really remembers that not only was game 3 VERY close but there were multiple foul outs in a double OT game. Game 3 vs the bucks was probably the second most pivotal game in the entire run behind the game 7. Not to mention the birth of Fred Jr that lit a fire under FVV in game 5 I think it was erasing 2 seperate double digit leads. Oh and thag Kawhi dunk to cap off a massive run in game 6 at home? Such an underrated series

    Been a Spur fan since Robinson era... Still a Kawhi fan despite all that transpired. Rooting for him at LAC. He has shown over his career that he is (when healthy) as big a difference maker as any other franchise player. He has that "it" thing that great ones have, a single-mindedness to do what it takes to win--on both defense and offense (as a team player). Loved that Toronto playoff run!
