    when will you post the video part 3? Ego vs Husqvarna vs STIHL?

  • @NotYourAverageTreeMan
    @NotYourAverageTreeMan Рік тому +3

    The Echo would be better matched with a 1/4 set up - most convenient saw to use up a tree on the market right now IMO - the gear clip system is game changing.

      @NotYourAverageTreeMan Рік тому

      ...also curious is that lanyard rated? I'm assuming it catches with the fabric way before the electrical cabling becomes an issue?

    First of the videos I see here with such profanity... Here's a friendly explanation for improving knowledge.
    Top handle saws are actually made for arborists.
    Arborists do different jobs - some of them are pruning trees, some are dismantling (tree removals).
    These types of tasks require different types of tools.
    A small 25cc class chainsaw (or battery equivalent like DCS-2500T) is made for pruning tasks.
    Those usually have less power to have the least possible weight.
    A big 35cc class chainsaw (or battery equivalent like MSA 220T or T540iXP) are made for dismantling.
    Those are most powerful, however it comes at the expense of big weight.
    Most climbers will reject the EGO chainsaw purely because of the uncomfortable wire and backpack harness (as they usually already wear quite a lot of belts).
    Please keep you channel at the usually nice review level. I am always entertained to watch the videos you make.

    Na not for me, Echo looks like a toy, the EGO just don't like the idea of the cable, you did a really good demonstration and review on them 👍

    This is an apples to oranges comparison. The difference between the 2Ah battery and the 4Ah battery is not only runtime, but maximum current delivered as well. And current means torque for an electric motor. The playing field here favors the EGO with this battery.

    • @01snoll
      @01snoll 11 місяців тому

      The only difference is is the echo designed to only accept the 2ah battery where the ego will accept any of their battery's. With that design inwould think that the echo would be designed for max performance with that battery in mind

    Tree surgeon here, not impressed with the reviewing and are making the echo to be crap, yet the that stock echo 3/8's/1.3 chain is like crap. It's better suited with 1/4" panther chain/bar. and will pull a 12" through oak a lot better and won't stall. The saw is a joy to use for pruning while in the tree balance/weight is brilliant. I find it last quite long too per bat, but at the end of day you're comparing it to a much bigger saw, that is a lot heavier and should be put up against the bigger top handles. If you compare the echo to the stihl 161 or the smaller makita one. I think the echo is better than both of those🖕

    • @MachineryNation
      @MachineryNation  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback 👍🏼 I agree on the chain, but in the reviews we always use stock chains and bars as this is what comes with them when you buy them.

    You did not add the weight of the ego with all the trash the cord and battery . Same here I don’t like the setup of the EGO AT ALL THUMBS DOWN 👎

    • @marcobarchiesi
      @marcobarchiesi Рік тому

      because those parts are not on your arm. Trust me, having the battery on your back is a far better solution than on board.

  • @marcobarchiesi
    @marcobarchiesi Рік тому +3

    put the ego battery in a backpack, it is better for your balance neither you feel the weight. Also, in this way the cable pass along your right arm and does not annoys

    Thanks James and Josh. Great job. I want to get both of them for Christmas. Well maybe before then. The echo being light is probably great for pruning woody shrubs and hedges, I have the 18v Makita top handle and that is great for small stuff and very light. You can get a harness to wear the battery on your back for the ego top handle so you don't have to wear it on your waste I believe. I have one so you can put bigger batteries on and use any of their tools with that. 👍

    My question is, what is the maximum length of the chain guide that can be placed on the EGO, and how high can you raise your hand? Let's say if you carve a totem, sometimes you have to stretch.

    Another awesome video guys. Ego FTW. The Ego top handle is a really undertalked about machine I think. It's got tonnes of power. It's judt a shame that it's not a battery on board machine. If it was it would completely change the feel of it and look and I really like it it how it is. Send it against the Husky and stuhl I think it will come out on top too!

    Personal i don't think echo have got the battery equipment right compared to other companies the petrol kit is spot on I absolutely love echo cs2511 the best top handle out I think and I will only use echo blowers brilliant bits of kit pb251 👌 I have never used ego equipment I don't like the look of that top handle with the battery lead and having to have the battery on your harness looks like pain more weight when we are climbing Also does that lead work a shock load lanyard or do you have to use lanyard and battery lead ?

    Hard to top the husky t540ixp for cutting performance, it’s lighter than the stihl 220t yet still cuts faster. I think that the echo 2500t is more comparable to the msa161t or t536lixp as a pruning saw. I can’t see myself purchasing the echo due to the battery design alone. I’d rather have the extra weight in the saw and not have to use the umbilical

    • @majiktree9523

      actually a tree climbing saw has always the lanyard attached, so the umbilical cord from the battery could be not so bad, maybe just paired and taped to the lanyard, the weigh in the saw is more interesting to fit a bigger engine..
